I toured Brookdale Stanwood. The manager is nice. They had a registered nurse, and he was very good. I have a big house now, so when I look at places that have small bedrooms, small kitchens, and small bathrooms, I don't think I'll go back there. It was a nice place, but not for me. It was very clean.

We went to Brookdale Stanwood. I would rate everything the same as the other place with the exception of it being an older unit. The rooms are a little smaller, but the core of what you need at that point in your life, they had it just as good as the other place as far as the people interacting, how they care about their people, and how the organizations run. As you're walking around, they acknowledge each other. There's a camaraderie. The dining area was open and good. It's an older building, but it's clean and well-maintained. They offered meals and changed the beds and the linens and all of that. They had activities.

We liked Brookdale Stanwood. It was clean, newer, and more spacious than the other ones we visited. I saw a library, a dining hall, and a little bistro. We only met the staff that took us around, and she was very helpful.

I went to Brookdale Stanwood and David showed me around. They don't have a sink in the room. They would have to use the bathroom for their sink. The rooms were good, but they weren't as good as the other ones I looked at, and they seemed outdated. They were real plain and they were smaller, and the closets and such weren't as many as in the other facilities. The other two facilities had a lot of storage. The only experience I really had with the staff was the lady when I walked in, and with David who took me around. The facility looked really cool from the outside, but once you got in, it just seemed like little apartment rooms. It had a really big lounge room and there were a lot of people hanging out. It was a good facility. It just wasn't as impressive as the other two I toured. Their halls weren't as wide. The staff who took me around was really nice and he called me back twice to check on everything to see if my search was going well and if I had made a decision. I didn't think the outdoor space was as impressive. They had just a grassy area and I didn't see seats or anything for people to sit at outside, and the price was way higher than the others.

We went to Brookdale Stanwood. It was clean. They were nice, but we felt it was a little more business run than people run. It felt almost more like a sales job, like they were trying to sell us something. We really didn't see residents when we walked in. The person during the tour was very kind and pleasurable, but it wasn't as deep and personal of a tour. We didn't meet residents; that's why it felt more like a business than a relationship. There was nothing wrong with it. It was immaculate. They were not bad by any means. They were definitely professional, polite, and courteous. It's just that my aunt had gone to one that was very personable and in depth. The other one had somebody taking you around and introducing you to residents, and there were lots of residents walking the halls, smiling, and talking, you can obviously see that people are happy. However, at Brookdale, there were no residents. They're all tucked away in their rooms. It was just different. We might have just caught them in a bad time or something. It wasn't a fit for her, but it might be perfect for other people. They were more expensive than other places as well.

The staff at Brookdale Stanwood were very helpful. Not just a show helpful, but they were really helpful even though we decided not to go there. They were also very knowledgeable. They know their stuff. I was able to sample a meal and it was great. I was on a special diet, so I didn't eat pasta or any bread or any sugar or anything like that, but they were able to accommodate me and my diet.

Brookdale Stanwood was awesome. I loved it. The rooms were pretty good and the grounds were OK. They had a place for dementia and Alzheimer's in a different area where they can keep track of them better and the doors were locked only in that one building, so they can't escape. They had activities going. I saw residents there and they all seemed very happy with the place. The staff was very energetic and you could tell the residents just love her to death and they stopped and tried to talk to her as we were walking down the hall. It was really pleasant and it was a very positive experience. They were remodeling one of the rooms I had looked at and the other one, someone was moving in. So, I got to see one empty and one furnished to give you an idea how much furniture you can fit and I thought it was adequate. I looked at the menu and it was pretty good. It wasn't too repetitious. They had a simulated movie theater, and the dining room was very nice. They were doing chair yoga when I was there, they had a lot of games, table games, and stuff in one room, they had a library and an arts and crafts room. They were all very nice at the front desk and other people we passed during the tour and the girl that gave the tour was just awesome. You could tell everybody likes everybody there. It's good enough that it would be on the top 2 that I would take my mom to of the four that I toured.

We went to Brookdale Stanwood, and we talked to a lovely girl, Darlene, who helped us. We were gonna pursue that, but my mother passed away. The visit was great. It was very nice, and even with the pandemic and stuff, we were able to look at the room and talk to the people. We had a great experience. We saw a small studio apartment that's empty, but it had a kitchenette. The staff was great.

I live in Brookdale Stanwood, and it's not the best place. Their food is terrible, but I have a nice apartment. They have a daily activities for us, and every day it's different. Like today is Sunday, so they have a bus that takes you to your church, and they also have a church right here. There's a Sunday brunch, ice cream socials, places to walk around outside, matinee movies, bridge and other card games. At 5:00 we have dinner and then we can play pool at 6:00. The staff needs some improvement. The bus also takes you out on scenic rides, we also have bible studies, chair volleyball, bird-watching, bingo and happy hours, movies and poker, and so on. We do exercises, knit and stitch with friends, and there are historical presentations about different places. I have a 1-bedroom apartment that has a nice bathroom with a shower, a nice kitchenette, and a little patio on the outside. In terms of value, for what I'm paying, I'm not getting enough.

I visited Brookdale a year ago. It was very nice, clean, cozy, and would have been a nice place to live. The staff member was very knowledgeable, and personable, and she had been there a long time. That was impressive, and there was a low turnover of staff. The dining area was very nice, and the food was very nice. They had a library, a little coffee or bistro area, and beautiful landscaping. Some of the apartments had balconies, which was something I would have wanted. The residents can have discounts to the nearby YMCA, and they can use the pool and services there.

Brookdale Stanwood was a nice community. My father-in-law has a full apartment with two bedrooms, so it was very nice and spacious. They had a very nice restaurant-style dining area and had choices at every meal. The food was excellent, but dad complained about the food. He was happy in this place. The staff was excellent. Maybe they can improve on their activities. He complained that the exercise classes were really bad, and he wouldn't go to them.

I thought Brookdale was really nice. It was beautiful. The only reason we didn't choose it is because it didn't have the rollover to Medicaid.

My mom is in Brookdale. The building is old and needs to be updated. The rooms are of a nice size, the dining set up is nice, and the food varies because they have problems with keeping cooks. I am not happy because they have not had hot water in the shower since October.

My mom is moving into the Brookdale Stanwood. They have really good food, and they have a salad bar. They have exercise classes everyday in a little exercise room. The apartments are very nice, and she is getting a deluxe two-bedroom apartment that has a fireplace and a balcony. They have art classes. When I was there, they were setting up for balloon volleyball. If the room is warm enough, my mom likes to go to the movies. She gets cold pretty easily, and the facility seemed warm, so that's good. It's much homier than where she lives now. It's much more inviting, and there are fish tanks that are fun to watch.

I went to Brookdale Standwood, and it was really nice. However, when you walked through the door, it didn't have that pop, but that's OK. We did see a room, although it was a 2-bedroom, but it was really nice. I was impressed with how you could just step into the shower, and there wasn't any little thing that she could have fallen over. I had a friend that worked there, and she was really nice. The place was great. Some of the people there were really nice and friendly. It was probably nothing, but the gal that showed us around was not the most welcoming person. That would be my biggest complaint. I thought because it was respite care or maybe they had a bad day, she wasn't as nice as the gal at the other place we visited.

When I went here, they showed me everything. It is an awesome community. It is close to everything. I liked the room that I looked at because it was on the ground floor and it was close to the gardens outside. It was very nice. The staff was very friendly, very informative, and very knowledgeable. They had a lot of different activities that were very nice. They would go on little trips to different places. When I was there, they were playing basketball sitting down, which is really good for people who can't move around very well. I haven't seen that before, and that was kind of nice too.

When my grandmother reached the age of eighty-three she suffered medical problems and memory issues that required monitoring from a nurse, which left her unable to live alone. She moved into Merrill Gardens for assisted living and their facilities were wonderfully accommodating. All of the patrons were sixty years or older, creating a diversity of age groups and social circles. Grandma had her own one bedroom apartment with a kitchen, and deck overlooking the beautifully landscaped courtyard. While she retained her independence, regularly scheduled housekeepers took care of laundry and chores, while nurses tended to her medications and conditions. Dinners, games, shopping trips, and special events were coordinated for her to remain social in her new home. Additionally, each live-in patron was given special attention in the main diner for birthdays and anniversaries, creating a family-like feel amongst everyone in the building. This created lasting bonds from the caring staff that left her feeling well cared for.
