My husband was a resident for six monthes until his passing. He had a private room with bath. The room was always clean and warm. I was fortunate to be able to spend six hours a day with him and was there by choice not because I worried about his care, which was excellent. I had the chance to observe the workings of the staff and facility on a daily basis. The office staff were helpful and attentive to any concerns I expressed. Those who cared for my husband were excellent and worked as a team. They were very caring to the residents, treating them with respect. The menu is posted and the residents have an alternate choice if what is offered is not what they want. The activity director is amazing, she engaged everyone who attended what she had planned even if they were just able to be there and listen, calling them by name, and looking them in the eye. She worked tirelessly with her program, musicians, singers, a cooking demonstration after which they got to sample the treats, exercise adapted to what they were capable of doing. The nurses were attentive to medications, falls, emergencies, very skilled. In my husbands case hospice was involved and worked well with the nursing staff. When I left at night I had no worries that my husband was in good hands and well cared for. In my opinion Dungeness Courte is the very best option when faced with the very difficult decision to relinquish care at home. I recommend them highly. I

When we toured this facility we thought it was lovely. Well decorated, newer, very top notch in appearance. The woman that took us around and had us have lunch with her was extremely charming. But that is where it ended. Not enough staff....seemed like I could never find them unless it was all the post teen ones gathered in one little room visiting with each other. The residents were mostly wandering with no supervision. The layout for memory care is supposed to be simplistic I have learned and this place is like a maize. The upper staff and management were not kind people and my loved one that was there did not do well. The promises we were given about specialized attention and help with diff. professionals that come in to help with all needs simply never happened. And if you have any dietary special needs .... forget about it. A completely chaotic disappointing experience. Shame on them, and it started from the top. There was a very lovely woman that attempted activities for the residents. She was thoughtful, attentive and patient. Most of the residents could not really participate in much of anything, but they were drawn to her and would sit at the table because she paid attention to them and was so bubbly and kind.

Dungeness Courte Alzheimer's Community is well run and has good staffing. There are only two places in Sequim that could meet my mother's needs and that was the one that we could get her into, and it seems very good. She has only been there for two weeks. The food is fine, the room is nice, and they have some activities, but my mom didn't participate in a lot of them.

My dad stayed at Dungeness Courte for a week for respite. It was very well run. It was close to where I live, and it was very clean. It seemed to have adequate staff. The head had a good understanding of medication management, and my father seemed to enjoy his stay there. It had many structured activities. They had a lot of things for people. They were outstanding.
