Norse Home has been great for my mother. There are lots of activities that she's involved in. There's a fantastic view of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains and the food has been good. She's been very happy there. It's in a wonderful part of Seattle. It's great. It's more dormitory style. It does not have kitchenettes, but each floor has a kitchen. She likes the three meals in the cafeteria. It's not like some of the senior places where you have a living room. She just has one room like a studio. The staff is wonderful. They have assisted living as well. I've been very happy. I just wish they would do more outings. It's a good value. It's in a very nice neighborhood. She can go right out and walk around. Across the street is the zoo. It's right on a bus line. Right from her front door, there's a bus that goes right to downtown Seattle to the stores and everything. It is very good for independent people. For the price, this place was the best.

I visited Norse Home and it's very nice. It's not as nice as the place I ended up choosing, but they have great views from the units. On one side you got boats and water, and on the other side you got the zoo and zoo sounds. Either way, you're doing good. They're in the middle of remodeling, so the rooms were nice, but the whole place is being remodeled. The staff who assisted me during the tour was a very sweet lady. I checked the dining area and it was nice. They have smaller windows for food service. They do things like exercise, walking, and so on. Right now, it's difficult to imagine what the place is going to be like in two years when they finish their remodel. They're just going to shift the residents from one unit to another when they fix it, and they're excited. They have a lovely courtyard where you can sit, there's a waterfall, and you can meditate. It's really nice.

I visited the independent facility of Norse Home Retirement Community. It is a really nice facility. I like the open space they have with a grand piano. They have four floors. The top two floors were for independent-living, and the other two floors were for those who needed more care. I like the homey feeling of this facility. There are several places that you could just sit like the library. They have a beauty shop, and an exercise room. They provide the meals for you.
