My wife has moved into Aegis Living West Seattle. The staffing and the cleanliness are some of the first things on our list, and it just felt appropriate for what we wanted. Also, because of its proximity, I live in West Seattle, and it was the nicest place in West Seattle. I haven't tried the food, but I understand that it's pretty good. My wife's room is very nice and good sized. We decorated it yesterday, so it should feel like home to her. They're always keeping them busy. Every time I went to visit, activities were going on, and it didn't look like they had too many dull moments to just sit around. The cleanliness of the place, I enjoyed that. They had outside entertainment, which was nice, people came in and performed. They're a little more expensive, but I think you get more for your dollar.

I toured Aegis Living West Seattle. We were looking for short term respite care for vacation. We just got a small tour because they don't do respite care. It was a beautiful place, but very expensive. They showed us one room that was available. The room was beautiful. They had it very well decorated. It was very roomy and spacious. For what my mom needs, it wouldn't work because she has dementia. She needs memory care. The staff were not very prompt. We were there at 2 pm. It was probably 15 minutes before the gal that was going to give us the tour came out. I think there was a misunderstanding in the very beginning as to what we were looking for, so that's why we didn't get a bigger tour of everything else. The staff was very friendly and very informative.

I looked at Aegis Living West Seattle, but it was a little too expensive. I saw their activities and physical therapy, they also have a special memory care section, so I got a pretty full tour of the entire facility. It's a very nice brand-new building. They just built it.

Aegis Living West Seattle seemed the right fit for my husband. He's been there for two weeks now and there's plenty of people to look after him. He seems to like the food and the staff's really good. They're always around. There's an outdoor space with tables and umbrellas. It's a pretty scenic place. He's got a pretty good-sized room with plenty of room for a queen-size bed, a chest of drawers, a nightstand, and each has its own bathroom. It's pretty well laid out. They have people that would come in and sing for the residents. There's an employee that's in charge of the music and she was even singing yesterday, and some of the people were singing along. They plant seeds and grow them outside in the ground. They're all non- poisonous and edible, so that's pretty cool. I like the idea that the residents are pretty much supervised the whole time, because we've been there at different times of the day and night, and there are always several people looking out for them. They're doing an excellent job. Even though it's the most expensive place I've ever seen, my biggest concern is that he's well taken care of and you're going to pay for that no matter what.

We visited Aegis of West Seattle. It was very impressive when you walk in since everything is big, light, and expensive. Their buy-in fee was probably seven times more than others, but my sister lives seven minutes from there. We discovered that they have a number of lawsuits against them for care of patients, so we opted to back out. The facility itself was very nice. One of the things we didnt like was their menu had French names, which is not good for old people. If you dont know what it means, then youre not going to eat it. It was absolutely brand new with only seven residents in there while we were visiting. Its obviously designed for people in a different class than my mom and dad. They had a spa where you can get massages, a salon where you can get a haircut, and a community room you could reserve for dinners. You could go up on the roof in the evening and watch a movie. They had a garden, a vegetable garden, and another kind of garden that people could putter in if they wanted to, and we thought mom would enjoy that. There was a place where you could order light snacks, freshly made snacks, individual pizza, or things that could be warmed up in a microwave.
