My dad has moved into The Weatherly Inn. We would like a little bit better communication than what we have been getting, but other than that, the place is beautiful, and it is definitely better than where he was. My dad likes the cards and the ice cream parlor. He has Alzheimer's, so he is in the memory care center. He seems to be very happy there; my mom is happy he is there. However, he has had some incidents of escaping. Nevertheless, it is way better than where he was. We like that the rooms are locked during the day, so they're out, and he can talk and communicate with other people. It is expensive but the care is good. It is a beautiful place.

I went to Weatherly Inn Kent. They're a memory care only facility. I was very interested and very excited about them. It was all good, except for one very specific aspect of thing. My experience with the head nurse was concerning to me. She seemed very engaged and interested in talking to me, but she was very brusque. She had some opinions about the medications that my mother had been prescribed by her doctor, and that she was like, 'No, we would never give that to a patient here. We don't use that medication at all.' She said it's not an as-needed medication. She also said, 'These are the medications we would give for the symptoms your Mom is having.' I went back to the doctor about that, who is an experienced geriatrician. She was really concerned that those were not appropriate approaches to do the medication regimen. I was just concerned because the nurse was so adamant about it, and it was so contradictory to what the doctor was telling me. I felt like I wanted to trust the doctor more than I wanted to trust that nurse. If that was her attitude about it in terms of how they ran the place, it felt like the communication was likely to be somewhat difficult. I did not want to be wrestling over that type of a medical issue with the medical staff. She seemed a little bit sort of imperious about it and was like, 'I've been doing this for 17 years, and I know what I'm talking about.' Their opinion about this particular matter is so very different than another medical professional who was experienced in the field. The place is very homey, and it's laid out appropriately for memory care with circular paths. They house people by the stage of disease, so people who are in earlier stage in their disease are surrounded by people who are similarly situated, which allows for more social engagements. There are good spaces to kind of unwind and it has a very pleasant feel to it. It was a little bit dated, but it didn't bother me. I don't think that that would have been something that your average elder would have been bothered by at all.

Weatherly Inn was nice. Even though it's assisted living, it had a combination code to get in and out of the building. It was more like a memory care facility, but they have different levels of care on different floors. The landscaping and the facilities were really nice. They also had shared apartments. The place was clean (although a bit dated). The staff seemed OK. They had staff members that were more knowledgeable and experienced in health care related areas, but they had a lot of younger staff there also.

We did visit The Weatherly Inn, and it's a beautiful place. The layout is pretty good, and their rooms are shared between two residents. They have a lot of antiques on the place which is good. With their activities, I am not really sure of them, but I know they have those.

I would go to The Weatherly Inn. They keep their people busy, check on their residents in their rooms, and provide meals for them. They have a big room where they play games and watch movies. They staff are out and about with the people. It’s more of a family, friendly type of community.

My wife became a resident at Weatherly Inn in mid January 2016. She has Dementia and Alzheimer's and a serious problem with being combative and non-directable. In a matter of three days I started noticing a change in her attitude and communication skills. It's four weeks later now and a miracle has taken place. She now walks the hall ways waving, talking and throwing kisses to other guests and staff as they pass. The surroundings are clean, fresh smelling and much like they were when she was in the prime of her life. The staff is unbelievable, in calling her by her name, giving her hug's and making her feel at home. Weatherly Inn is her new home and she likes it. She gets her hair done on a regular basis at the in house Salon, she loves the weekly live entertainment and Bingo games. There is lots of room to walk and when the weather is nice she will be able to go out in the secured garden and patio areas. Thank You Weatherly Inn and Staff you have given each of us a new life.

We found Weatherly Inn for my father. The staff is very informative. They're very positive people. They have a movie theater, a barbershop, and an ice cream parlor. It is like a little village inside a village. They have games, movie nights, and garden parties. Security is totally great. It is totally fenced in. They have a locked gate, but you have a security code to get in. Outside, family can go in anytime they want. The nurse ratio to patients is like 1:6. The room is very clean. There is adequate space. They have furnishings for your bed and dresser, and you can bring in your own personalized items, so it is great.

My husband was at the Weatherly Inn before he passed away last month. The staff was great. The doctors, nurses, and everyone else was so friendly. My husband liked it that everybody knew him and he felt that they all loved him. Their menu was always set up so you can see what he was going to have. You couldn't ask for a better facility to go to.

I took a Tour at the Weatherly Inn, while I was there I felt like I was taking a trip back in time. I heard music overhead from the 40's & 50's. I say a old car from the 40's, They have the main foyer done up to look like a old market place. Every Where I looked it was made to look like my great grandparents home. I was impressed with how everything was made to look like it would have been when the residents were younger. I asked the lady who gave me a tour (her name is Peggy) is it all new or is everything on the walls and shelves real, she told me that it was all really old even the books on the shelves. Peggy told me about the levels and the activities that they had for the residents, This is a memory care home so it was made to bring up what the residents would remember.
