The rooms are small but doable with a twin size bed and miniature/ multifunction furniture. They have housekeeping who will tidy the room up. We hired a service to come every two weeks for a regular cleaning. Though the price seems right initially, the leases are month to month, and they increase the rent offensively every 3 months. The food is good but the portions are small so make sure you have lots of snacks and tv dinners available. The dining area is very nice but isn't enough seating for all the residents, so oftentimes they have to wait or are given a plate to take to their room. The visiting hours are "flexible," but they don't want you to stay more than two hours and they really discourage any visitors who visit more than once every two months. They do not like advocates (even family) or anyone who ask them for clarification about unfair treatment. They will not provide documentation to support any accusations they make, just claim "policy" and when researched, there is no policy. Medicines are given at specific times during the day. They do not have a good system in place to make sure that refills are received and do not follow up with the pharmacy. Be sure to make sure that's all done so there's no lapse in doses. My dad went 2 weeks without his medication before I found out and they were not even aware of it. There are very minimal activities with a very very limited variety. They play cards and make three different childlike crafts. The landscape is nice, minus the disgusting cigarette butts on the ground next to staff doors. The residents are given buttons to press if they fall, And it will take a nurse up to 30 minutes to respond, if you have someone to go find the nurse. They represent themselves as a memory care facility but the staff are not trained properly to handle anyone with memory issues. Confusion is a big part of Alzheimer's, but the staff don't seem to be able to handle anyone who has hearing difficulties or is confused. The staff seem courteous, but I've seen an after hours nurse chase down a resident, yelling and berating him about something she had done, until he put his head down and walked back inside. When residents are moved to the memory care units, the resident is locked down, into a room the size of a closet. They have a locked yard for the residents to supposedly access, but it's extremely small, maybe the size of 2 cars side-by-side, and extremely rare for them to even have access to this area. If you're thinking about this place, continue to look at other places. The care here is subpar at best, and that's only if the resident has lots of money and no family or friends. They should also be highly medicated so they don't care.

We liked that the staff at Bay Vista Commons was very knowledgeable and engaging with their residents. Someone took us around and even though that wasn't her job, she left her office to show us around, and we liked that. They had a salon, an outdoor space, gardening, and an activities area. We liked that the rooms were bigger. It's just an older facility.

The building is newer & fairly well maintained, rooms are decent sized. That’s the only positives. They never have enough staff. Always a constant turnover. I’ve had to clean the apartment bc of lack of staff. I’ve seen the food & it’s unappetizing, gross really. The Nursing Office don’t return phone calls. There’s rarely activities. The Director blames everything on Covid but we’ve been looking at new places & know that’s just an excuse.

Bay Vista was a very nice place, but it was not as cheery and upbeat. The staff seemed very, very nice. The rooms, too, were very nice. Overall, there was nothing wrong with the facility.

My Grandmother transferred to this facility about 4 years ago. We were impressed by the size of the rooms. The room's layout makes maneuvering throughout easy. At first my grandmother used a walker, she is now in a wheelchair. The room fits her wheelchair and her prized pieces of furniture. The rooms have high ceilings and lots of natural light. The dining area is large. The tables are round, seating 4 to a table. This gives a friendly feel to the room and residents sit in the same table group each meal. My grandmother is one of the oldest residents(she will be 100 in February)and the residents at her table are very helpful. They cut her meat, read her the latest news and make meal time fun and enjoyable. The food is wonderful as well. There are two menu options at each meal. Residents select their choice from a menu at the start of the month. The staff is amazing. They are kind and patient. They take very good care of my grandmother who can be quite difficult. They remember family members by name as well. As my grandmother can't see well, the staff helps her choose outfits that match. This seems like a small thing but it is important to my grandmother. It is small details like that, that makes Bay Vista Commons a great place.

The facility itself was built fairly recently and has been well maintained both inside and out. It is located an area of Bremerton that is currently undergoing massive renovation and will soon become one of the nicest areas in town (although it is a bit empty now). The rooms themselves are a bit on the small side, but are nice. Some of the rooms also feature a decent view of the bay. The food provided by the facility is not amazing, but it is edible. They offer a reasonable variety of food choices on a fairly regular rotating schedule. The dining room itself is a nice room with reasonable service. There is also a private dining space available for residents and their guests. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. After only a couple of visits they knew who I was and who I was visiting. For the most part they have been very helpful in accommodating my grandmother with all her medical needs. There were however, a few times when the staff felt that my grandmother's needs were too much and threatened to send her to a nursing home. However, by talking to the we were able to resolve those issues without many problems.Overall I have been very impressed by Bay Vista Common and would recommend it to someone looking for a reasonably priced assisted living facility.

The staff is freindly and helpful. They have a lot of patience with my great uncle who likes to give them trouble. They make sure he gets his medications and if he doesn't show up for a meal and he's not signed out they go to check to make sure he's ok. They really care about the seinors and recently when the nurovirus came into the facility they had a quarinteen to make sure the others didn't get sick and that it was contained. My family and I are very happy with the treatment that is given to my great uncle.
