In her 90's, Mom has been amazingly vigorous, healthy, active and sharp - until a golf course accident left her with a broken pelvis and several months of low-activity rehab. The subsequent medical ups-and-downs, emergencies and her own sense that she couldn't live the way she had been, led her to tell us (her children) that she was ready for a move. After looking at several places, she picked Aegis of Bellevue. She liked the feel, the location, the smiles and the other residents. It has been wonderful for her - and a huge relief for the rest of us - that she has the support she needs. The staff is friendly and supportive. They make the residents feel special every day. They know new residents by name immediately it seems, and family members as well. The families are made to feel as welcome as the new residents, by the way. Our interactions with her new friends (neighbors) there as well as with the staff have left us no doubt that this was the best decision any of us could have made. Mom is enjoying life, all the activities (she does as many as she can fit into her day), the convenience, the friendships and the support. Thank You Aegis - ALL of you!

What I loved about Aegis Living Bellevue was the marketing director. He was very personable. He knew all the people that we met by name. It seemed very homey. The one-bedroom that my mom was looking at had a balcony, which was very important to her, to be able to go outside, so that was great.

The place is like a resort--and you pay for it. Most of it my mother would never use. She's a difficult woman and they had problems dealing with her, even though we were very upfront about her issues. I thought this was their bailiwick? I don't see how a company can advertise that they are experts in senior care, charge the exorbitant prices they do and then say they don't know what to do with her. It's best for people still mentally "all-there" with tons of money and ready to have someone else cook, clean and entertain them. But as long as you're a happy camper, in assisted or memory care, they want you and you will do well. My mother is now in a 6 patient family home, which is much better suited to her.

My mom used to be at Aegis of Bellevue. It was a very beautiful facility and in a beautiful location. I think they did a good job. But she said the food wasn't that good and she didn't liked the night time help because it was random and it didn't made her happy.

Aegis's memory care facility, Life's Neighborhood, has a very caring staff who have received training to understand the needs of residents who have been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's. Almost the entire LN staff members are very cognizant of the residents' personality traits and emotional needs. My rating would definitely be higher if residents were more frequently(regularly?) checked to take care of their bathroom needs, also food/menu choices can be more appropriate (conducive to handling) for residents.
