Beautiful building but otherwise not what one would want. Having had a parent there for 5 years, I became quite familiar. Staffing seemed minimal; few residents were participating in activities; it did not appear to be a place where residents were involved or thriving; management of staff was poor; they were consistently understaffed. Any care advertised to be provided mostly had to be outsourced. Suffield is very good at covering their tracks as any negative review or complaint seemed to get buried. Several letters , from different people with valid concerns were sent to upper management and there was never one response. It is my opinion, if a resident is there, someone needs to check in on them at least 4 times a week. I do not recommend Suffield Meadows.

My late husband spent the last 5 months of his life at The Villa in the memory care unit. We visited many possible facilities before deciding on this one. It is, without a doubt, the premier memory care facility in northern VA, regardless of price or eye appeal. The caregivers and nursing staff are not only skilled, they truly care about the residents. The unit is unique in that it is small (only 12 residents) and feels like home, not like an institution. It is kept clean. The food is good and tailored to the resident’s needs. The rooms are comfortable and private. Some have criticized the facility for its lack of activities. When a loved one reaches the stage where a memory care unit is needed, I find they are not interested in a large array of group activities, that a list appeals more to the families. There are activities more geared to those deeper into dementia, and the residents both participate in and enjoy them. Dementia residents tend to sit on the sidelines for more complex or physically/mentally challenging activities. You and your loved one will be welcomed into the Villa family.

The Villa at Suffield Meadows was very impressive and very clean. I talked to the person who gave me the tour and she was very nice. The rooms were nice. They were nicer than the other place. The dining area was nice. The menu looked good. They had a schedule of things going on every day, but I didn't look over it very carefully. They have a little theater and playrooms of various kinds.

My brother moved to The Villa at Suffield Meadows. We just really love it, it has a good homey feel to it and they do a lot of activity. He has only been there a week and he's very excited, very busy. He loves his room, so everything right now has been going good. So the food there is great, and all the activities they do is really good. He's in a studio apartment so it doesn't have a bedroom, but it's a nice-sized room. It has a kitchenette, a refrigerator, and a microwave, it doesn't have a stove but there's a sink and a nice big bathroom. The bathroom is nice. We're overwhelmed with how much he's enjoying it so it has been a really good experience. The move-in experience was very good, they were very helpful and they were very accommodating. The nursing staff so far has been very good and very attentive, they've been helpful trying to find other doctors for my brother and setting up the doctor's appointments. They go out of their way to help new people there get situated and meet new people. So I've been very happy with the staff. They have a salon, barber shop, workout room, a little theater that seats 16, and two nice little dining areas. They've got nice walking trails outside, it's on quite a few acres of land that they own and there are trails throughout it so for anyone that can get out and walk, it's nice. We had lunch with them and the food was very good. He is a very picky eater, but he hasn't even thought about that since he's been in there. Lunch, breakfast, and dinner, he has been eating all his meals there. And then they can pick up snacks and drinks and take them back to the room. The value for the money was comparable.

We visited The Villa at Suffield Meadows Assisted Living to see if we would want to bring in my sister into that facility. We knew about that facility because the person who sold us the house we now live in had gone there. We learned that he was very pleased with the care he received there. We saw a good part of it, and the person at the desk who took us on a tour was exceptional. We came at lunchtime, so we didn't see any activities. They had a nice library and a nice garden area. It's sort of a country setting, so it has a nice country-field, outdoor feel to it. It's not an old facility; it's relatively new -- maybe six-to-eight years or a little longer. So, it's a pretty modern facility.

The Villa at Suffield Meadows was a lovely and nice place, but a little older. I was there on a Sunday and the person who normally runs the tours wasn't there, but the lady who was there was lovely enough to walk me around anyway. It was a brief visit, but she showed me a room, the facilities, and dining room. They have a separate room where they have jigsaw puzzles and books.

We found The Villa at Suffield Meadows attractive. The key factor was that it was the most convenient place. It was close to where we are. The food was fine. They had a wide range of activities posted on their calendar.

I have already found a facility, and my sister-in-law is very happy with it. The Villa at Suffield Meadows is very local to where I live. The staff is extremely helpful. I understand that she is very happy with the food, very happy with the activities, and very happy with the room. She absolutely has no complaints. She seems to get a lot of attention which is something we couldn't do for her. I could consider the place very secured and very well managed from what I've seen. They have bingo and shopping trips. Just about anything to satisfy her. She can have visitors anytime of the day and night which is one of the reasons we liked it. She is within probably 10 to 15 miles from my home, so my wife and I can get to see her. She spends the most of her day just relaxing and eating three good meals. She is a relatively inactive person, so it has been very good for her in that regard because she does things she didn't do before. I would highly recommend this place.

I feel that the Villa is a wonderful place for my family member. Not only is the staff very caring and attentive but everyone goes above and beyond. From the front desk to the Bistro staff, they all are their for the right reasons. They have a very diverse activity calendar and plan several outings each month. They ask residents for their preferences and try to always make them happen. The Administrative staff are very professional, responsive and assist me with any need. I would highly recommend this community!

Beautiful building but that's it. Very little activities for residents. Services are non-existent, hardly any staff, poor communication at the front desk. Quiet and empty as if no one lives there...

The Villa is newer, beautiful, and very nice. But my dad smokes, so it wouldn't work because it's a non-smoking facility.
