My father is in Paramount Senior Living at Manassas. The nursing staff is very cordial, very helpful, and very knowledgeable, and they listen to your requests. They seem to be very professional, too. I'll give the food a ten. The only activity that my significant other participates in is some exercise classes at 10:00, but I don't know about the other ones. I don't think the activities are that great. He pays a lot of money. I have a concern about their doors off the eating area to go outside. He's in a wheelchair, and if I wheel him out, it's so hard to open the doors. You have to push down on the handlebars. We've requested handicap openings there and I don't know why they haven't put them in, because it's very hard for someone on their own to get out of these doors, to walk around. There's a walkway around the building. Another concern I have is, that they wear a call button around their necks, but I'm concerned it takes the aides sometimes ten minutes to get to them. My concern is that if somebody is having a heart attack, they need to have a quicker response. I would like to have walkie-talkies or something put into these call bells they wear around their neck in case somebody has a real true emergency. I checked out three assisted living places. One of them had very, very small rooms. At Paramount, the room is very large and it's furnished. They have provided him with some furniture and a hospital bed.

My niece and I toured the Paramount Senior Living at Manassas for my brother. We were given an extensive tour, and Paramount seemed was typical of most assisted living with the group dining hall, dining room, and a two-story facility. The facility is well-maintained. We were introduced to the facility director and met the facility's chief building engineer. We walked down the halls and looked at some of the areas. They offered standard services and therapy. They offer laundry service and offered caregivers that can give care 24 hours, and they have the nurses on duty. It was all of the things that they advertised. The location was too far away, which is why my niece didn't choose it but, in general, the pricing is good for the services. The layout of the building is good. I would have liked to have seen more elevators. It's an older building so it doesn't meet the new building codes. We used the elevator and they have at least two, but I would like to see more elevators and more access from one floor to the other. They do have stairs and that's great if you are mobile but my brother is not, so we're checking on the elevators they have.

The young lady that I met at Paramount Senior Living at Manassas, Kimberly, was very kind, very polite, and very informative. She explained everything about the cost upfront. So, she was great. I felt the rooms were pretty nice. I saw a one-bedroom and a studio and they were decent. The facility was pretty clean to me. Their dining room was spacious. Their walking area was nicely landscaped. They have physical therapy and occupational therapy.

I went to look at Paramount Senior Living at Manassas. The facility smelled well, which was very important to me. It was clean. The staff was very welcoming. I like the way they had the rooms set up. You could either do a studio or a one-bedroom apartment. I like the variety of rooms you could choose from, but they are well-kept and modern. The staff was very nice and informative.

The staff at Paramount Senior Living at Manassas seemed nice. The director of sales was very helpful and very informative. The rooms all seemed quite nice and the people seemed friendly, because there were residents there as well, and the whole atmosphere was pretty good. The building was very nice, clean, and well-maintained. They have a common room in the memory unit where people were participating. They have a whole list of activities and they sounded pretty good when we read through them. My only reservation with them was, I believe the memory care was up on the second floor. It's better to have it on the lower level.

My tour at Paramount Senior Living at Manassas was rather abbreviated when I discovered that they didn't have 2-bedroom apartments. The common spaces were very nice and clean. The dining area was clean. I had lunch there. I had chicken and rice soup and a mixed salad. The portions were small, and I can't remember the entree. The entryway was very nice. The lady who showed me around was very pleasant. She and the rest of the staff kept their eye open for any unforeseen movements, like if somebody coughed. She looked to make sure they were all right and that type of thing. The facility was adequate, but it would not be my choice.

I toured Paramount Senior Living at Manassas yesterday and looked at their dementia memory care locked unit. I liked that they had a very small number of residents. The capacity of the Memory Care Unit is 18 residents, so they would have a good ratio of CNAs to residents. Being a small group, you would have more attention paid to the individuals and be more able to get to know the individuals and give them one on one attention. That was something that I liked about this. I saw the activity area, which was a small area and also serves as their dining area. I saw that a CNA was reading to the residents, reading a story and showing them pictures from a book, and it looked like pretty much all residents were in the activity. They did say that they do try to get everyone out of their rooms. They do not leave them there so that they are all active throughout the day. They have a schedule of activities, a calendar, so that was good. They said they have both a private room and a semi-private companion room. The companion room has two people in the same room, and they do not have a dividing curtain or any type of dividing wall between the two beds so it's more like having a true roommate in your room with you. That is the situation in this place. In some places, the companion suite has an actual physical dividing wall, like two separate bedrooms that just happened to be next to each other but here, the semi-private rooms have a roommate in the room with you and there are two beds in the room. In terms of the facility itself, it is very luxurious, very clean, modern looking, and very beautiful. When you walk into the entrance to the facility, which is the general assisted living, the living room area and the dining room area are for assisted living. Part of it is very spacious, light, and very large. I like that about it. It looks like the landscaping was well kept up too. They have a total of two-mile walking sidewalks around the buildings and are all nicely landscaped so that was something positive about it. It's a good walking area around the building for taking your loved one outside. They have a good courtyard area where you can bring your loved one out for a visit so I think those were positive things about it. I think it's a good place. I think it definitely would be a consideration for us. I thought that the cost was reasonable. The cost that I was quoted for a private room was about $8,000 a month, and the cost for a semi-private room was about $6,500 a month. That includes the levels of care that were necessary for my mother, who has early-stage dementia and needs help with three ADLs.

Paramount Senior Living at Manassas has a beautiful, huge foyer when you come in and a spiral-type of a staircase. It's a very large senior living facility and they have a lot of activities for the residents. They have a courtyard and an exercise room (with some equipment). The layout was OK. It just doesn't fit my mom's needs.

The grounds and facility of Paramount Senior Living look nice. The person I think that was showing us around had something personal going on, and so he was a little bit distracted. We were offered to come by and have some lunch there as part of our visit, and for some reason, that didn't happen. It may have been because of the virus that they did it, but we were expecting to have some lunch there when we went but that didn't happen. The people that lived there looked a little bit like they weren't as happy as they might be. It just didn't seem like they were as knowledgeable as the other places. The facility seemed clean, and the activities seemed subpar, I didn't see them happening. We didn't eat there, but it seemed like the people weren't turning down the food. There weren't nearly as many people in the dining area there, as there were at the other place.

My mother was at Paramount Senior Living at Manassas for a year. It's clean. They have a lot of facilities there as far as activities. My mother played bingo all the time. There was a craft room and a dining room. The food was above average. They had three meals a day and any kind of snack or whatever they wanted. They have a beauty shop and a library. They have all kinds of things going on. They have movies. They bring in different kinds of activities. One time, they had a local ballet school come in and do ballet. Its kind of like you could choose what you wanted to do. The apartments were adequate. My mother had a kitchenette. I don't think they encourage cooking in the rooms. There are some setbacks. They have one elevator for the people upstairs if they're in a wheelchair or something. All in all, the staff were very good. There are a couple of things they could do better. They seemed to gear everything to the elderly. My mother was quite old. She was 93 when she passed away. She was there last year. When Mom passed away, they were extremely helpful as far as helping us with anything we needed like clearing out her apartment. They're very thoughtful and they were nice.

I went to Paramount Senior Living at Manassas. It was very good. I was very happy with the visit. I didn't see anything that I was not happy with. I love the way they had it, they had like sitting rooms where they could go and sit outside on the porch, and it was covered. If you just want quiet time, you could go out there and have a quiet time, or if you wanted to be with the crowd, you could come in and sit with the crowd. It just depended on how you felt that particular day, and I like that. Some people like to sit out in the sun, and they have comfortable chairs out there. I thought it was pretty cool. They said they had happy hour every Friday. They had card games, puzzles, different games they could play. They also had arts and crafts. I went to visit the art and craft room which was cool. The people did stuff themselves, which they displayed. I thought they did very good artwork. The instructor there, was outstanding. It is very clean and very neat, that's the first thing you look for when you go in, how it smells, how it looks. It was nice, and I thought the layout was very good and the way they had set up. Some of the people may want to walk down the stairwell, It was like a swivel where they didn't walk straight down. It was like a little curve, and if you want to use the elevators, they were also available. So I thought it was pretty cool where they had everything set up.

I went to tour Paramount Senior Living at Manassas. I saw some of the rooms, but not the memory care. It looked nice. Everything seemed to be in order. I didn't see anything that I didn't like. The staff were knowledgeable. They answered my questions. The rooms were ordinary and clean rooms. The size was adequate. They have games. It seemed fine. It was a nice place, but it's pretty expensive just like the others. It's a nice place, and I feel the location is quiet. It is out of the hustle and bustle, but it's still in the middle of the town.

We did a tour of Paramount Senior Living at Manassas. They sat us down with a couple who had been there for a while, and they had the same background that we did; they were former teachers. It was a lovely tour. We enjoyed it. The people were very, very nice, and it was a nice facility. The rooms were nice. The one that they called a second bedroom, or an office workspace, was a little bit small, but if you're just putting a desk there, it would be OK. It had nice view, and it was quiet there. The staff were excellent.

I went to Paramount Senior Living at Manassas. It seemed like a very pleasant place. The supervisor or manager -- whatever he was -- conducted the tour. He was very friendly and gracious, as were the staff members that we met. The rooms appeared to be larger and had more closet and storage space. They have very nice grounds, the dining area was nice, and they had a snack area and other areas for socializing. They had crafts and the usual kinds of things. A medical person is there 24/7, so that was important to us.

My father moved into Paramount Senior Living at Manassas. We are very thankful. Everyone that we have worked with there has been very pleasant and open about any questions that we had. It's been overall a very good experience so far. My sister said the food was very good. They were offered crab cake for the lunch menu, when they were there to have their final counsel and move-in. She was unaware that she was gonna be offered lunch. The executive director got pulled away, so he had to delay their meeting. He offered lunch, and she liked it very much. His room is spacious and very clean.

I enjoyed my tour at Paramount Senior Living at Manassas, but they have not gotten back to me. I liked it, and I want my husband to go there. It's close to home, it looked very nice, it was clean, it was modern looking, and it looked like it would serve the things that have to get done for my husband. The staff was nice, friendly, and the dining room downstairs was big. The room I saw was OK, with 2 beds, a bathroom, and a small kitchen. It was bright, and there was a window.

Paramount Senior Living at Manassas was a nice place, with nice people, but it seemed to be more assisted living than independent living. We looked at a one-bedroom, but it was very small, it only had a kitchenette, and all the meals were in the dining room. It was not the right fit for my parents. The residents were up and about, but there seemed to be a lot more folks that were not as independent in their activity level. They were getting ready to renovate some of the spaces with new furniture. I met an aide in the front office and the director took me for my tour; they were wonderful people. The facility was very clean, the common areas were very large, but the room itself was way too small for what we were looking for.

I went to Brookdale Manassas, it was extremely nice, the size of the apartments were excellent, and the staff was over the top. She was so nice and so helpful. They have full-sized refrigerators. There was a lot of thought put into it. The staff knew the residents by name. You get a good feeling about Brookdale.

I stayed at Brookdale for two weeks. The room was fantastic and had very nice décor. They furnished it for me. The care was superb. The food was excellent, and there was too much of it. They had an activities room with lots of activities on a daily basis, like bingo, lots of exercise, visitors who come in and talk to you, and parties to celebrate Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day. The residents were very smart, very kind, and most of them were there for a very long time. The staff was friendly and made you feel at home.

What I like about Brookdale Manassas is that they have an on-site, live-in manager. They have all kinds of activities like bingo and movies. They also have a library and other kinds of social activities for the residents.

There was only one we liked, and it's Brookdale Manassas. It's not too big, and it's close to the hospital, the mall, and the bus line. It's a perfectly laid floor plan, where you can see from upstairs to the downstairs and downstairs to the upstairs, so whether the person is isolated, they still feel like they're part of the group no matter what. They have a full kitchen and a full laundry facility that any resident can use. They have an extremely perky and active doctor who's absolutely wonderful. Everybody seemed perky and happy and liking their job, and everybody came to meet my mother. They have quite a few different things like puzzles, a pool table, field trips, crafts, and parties.

To be perfectly honest, I like Brookdale Manassas because they accepted my father. He attempted suicide and was evicted from his previous assisted living facility, so it has been very difficult. I was very happy this community accepted him, and they fulfilled all requirements that his long term care insurer required. The food is OK and the sanitation in my opinion is excellent. The staff is excellent, and I give them five stars. My dad's condition is good, and it is better than where he was before.

Emeritus was excellent. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were excellent; they were the biggest ones we saw. The apartments were one bedroom apartment, studio, and regular. They were all very nice. The dining room looks like something out of a cruise ship. They have everything there: Bingo, movies, and lectures. I was impressed by the cleanliness.

Do not put anybody at Emeritus. They don’t have enough staff, and the food was horrible. I went every single day at different times of the day to see how he was being treated, and it was not all that great. They got mad at him because he pooped in his pants, he is 91 years old and he has not a clue who I am; it was really a bad experience. But the facility was nice and clean.

The people who worked in Emeritus Manassas were wonderful. I had no problems with anyone I met because everyone I met was wonderful. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The facility was great. The rooms were average. The activities were about the same as other places. I don't think they had a movie theater, but they had everything else. I thought they could improve on the general building.

My daughter was part of a dance group that performed at Emeritus at Manassas, so I was able to look around. I know they also have craft activities and people come in from the community; kids would come in and play music. I didn't see the whole facility, but it seemed very clean. It was also spacious. Their staff was evident everywhere; they seemed to be pretty hands-on in helping the residents there. I did see the dining room and a room. Their dining room looked like a restaurant; it was very well done. The room was fine, but I didn’t explore very much. They seem comfortable.

Mom is at Emeritus at Manassas, and it is a very nice facility. Most people are more outgoing than my mom. She stays in her room a lot of the time, but they have a lot of activities for the residents to go to. They have sit-down meals three times a day, where the residents go to their cafeteria area. Everybody there seemed to be OK and happy, so I think it's fine. The staff are very nice. The rooms are nice. You bring your own furniture, and my mom has brought in some stuff, so it made her feel like she was at home. They do provide a healthy and balanced diet. I have been looking for a non-smoking place, and I am glad it is one, but every once in a while people smoke on the front porch and you have to walk through that to get to the door, and that is my only negative thing. I have recommended it to other people.

Emeritus seemed very nice and the room seemed clean. The people were very nice. We saw some activities and it seemed they had a lot to offer. We did see people coming down for a meal and they were being helped. Many people are in wheelchairs and in walkers and my in-laws are not at that stage yet. The aides and the nurses seemed very helpful in getting everybody to the meal and it was very pleasant.

Emeritus is open, airy and there’s a lot of light around. It’s a very modern facility and the people were very friendly. Everybody knew each other and it just seemed a really nice place. The dining facilities are very nice. They had little tables for four, they had menus and a variety of things that they could eat but we didn’t have a meal there. They had a van that would take them out to go to various places around, doctors’ visits or to the stores. You can be as active as you want to be. It was however more of an assisted living and we wanted an independent living for my mom.

Emeritus at Manassas was the only place I visited. As far as the atmosphere, it seemed kind of depressing but the staff was all very nice. They seemed to have a lot available for their residents, like arts and crafts. The facility was a little older but it was satisfactory as far as cleanliness. It did feel a little more like institutional and their rooms were small. I visited at lunch time and it was quiet like nobody was talking. It was like everybody was just looking down at their plates and eating lunch.

The Emeritus was our #2 choice after visiting over 8 properties in the area. The caregivers know everybody by name and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The facility was very clean and has an open, inviting atmosphere. They have a great food and activities calendar. I would be very comfortable having my mother being a resident there.

Emeritus at Manassas was architecturally pleasant from an outside perspective and well taken care of. I was greeted appropriately by an attendant and also saw the community relations manager who met me promptly. She gave me a tour and showed me areas where the residents live for assisted living and the different rooms and options. She talked about the catering, how meals were prepared and she also showed me the memory care facility. She answered any questions that I had.

We are pleased with the level of care that he is getting at Emeritus at Manassas. Their activities seemed pretty well targeted towards the type of residents. We aren't really happy with the business office because we are having trouble with the bills that we are getting. We are charged lump sum charge and we need a real breakdown of what those costs refer to. We aren't really happy with the way they are conducting business. They are not very responsive. We leave phone calls and messages that don't get returned.

My 93 yr old father was to move in this facility. Before he could move in he passed away. They have charged him over $15,000 dollars and agreed to return$2700.While they agreed to this they have not returned it after repeated requests. Be very careful about paying them anything in advance. There main office is in Seattle and not helpful.

I was kind of skeptical about it because I hadn't heard about this facility before but I was really surprised when I visited it. This has to be one of the greatest one I visited in past. The staff was very helpful and location is very clean and beautiful from outside as well as inside. I talked to few people who lived there and they told me about how good the staff is and they have lots of fun activities for residents who live there. One thing that really fascinated was people who lived there all looked extremely happy with the service provided by this facility which is very hard to find in assisted living homes.

I have had the privilege of visiting Emeritus at Manassas on several occasions; the Asaph Dance Ensemble ballet company (www. asaphdance.org) has an ongoing ministry to the residents, and my daughter is a part of it. I have been impressed with the location, it is always clean and beautifully decorated, but more importantly, the staff seems friendly and caring, and they have numerous fun activities and entertainment for the residents.
