I am in Luther Manor. It is well known in the area. It is a great big building. They have overall 30 apartments in it. The rooms are fine. The dining room is very nice. You have two choices of food every day. The biggest thing is that this is what my husband and I need. I am disabled, and the apartment is handicap accessible.

This is a very depressing place the doors are painted gray and the residents are no longer allowed to decorate them with anything. It used to be cheerful seeing the pretty flowers and pictures on the doors ,they are no longer serving meals and not even giving the residents a ride to Walmart or Krogers. The bathrooms are not set up for handicaps there is a step in tub and the door ways are narrow not wide enough for some of the wheel chairs. They used to serve lunch and dinner and at one time it was good, but they started serving cheap fried food and frozen meats that is not heathy for older people, My friend no longer lives here and I think it is for the best as she wouldn't like having to take everything off of her door. It appears they only care about making money and not the sick people. There are plenty of places to live besides here .They offer nothing anymore and it is a real shame.

The place is not set up for electric wheelchairs the halls are narrow and chairs can't pass each other without hitting the walls. The bathrooms don't have handicap tubs. The food is not healthy most of it is fried. The residents are friendly and seem to be very poor. The hall floors are dirty and if the lights go out they are in the dark ,no generator. This place is not too safe

My experiences with this facility have been mixed. In some cases, the residents were attended to decently, and when medical help was needed, it was obtained quickly. However, there were also circumstances when residents were incapacitated, and medical help was delayed severely. Some residents routinely smell of bodily wastes that are not cleaned up. Parts of this facility also allow residents to smoke in their rooms, and therefore the smell of cigarette smoke permeates much of the facility. If you or a loved one is self-sufficient and only needs occasional check ins, then this facility would be a fine choice. However, if you or a loved one needs a higher or more consistent level of care, I would recommend you look elsewhere.

It was a nice enough place. The area was kept clean and the homes were spacious with plenty of accommodations. The bathroom was spacious and good for people with trouble getting around. I did notice that the dining room hours were very very specific, giving people only about an hour to show up for any given meal. I'm not familiar with assisted living facilities, but that seems rather strict to me. On the other hand residents do have their own kitchens, so it's not that big of a deal. The hallways were a bit cluttered in places. One of the corner spaces that I think was supposed to be a sitting area, was instead filled up with what appeared to be the contents of someone's home piled up with a sign saying do not touch on it. Everything provided also had a rather old worn feel to it. It was certainly a very accessible building though, and from what I saw of the staff they seemed very friendly and helpful.

The appearance of the place from the outside is somewhat clean and cut. Far as the outside appearance of the building its a bit depressing looking it doesn't have a very eccentric look to it. When you go inside the building you have to be beeped in, for an example you call the person you're visiting and they'll ring you in, which will unlock the door. Anyways I haven't been around to see the staff or any of the other people, but the inside of the building is really clean. The room size is nice with a little kitchen/dining room with a connected living room. The bathroom has its own place in the room. So far its pretty nice. When an holiday is near the building is decorated really nice and looks cute. I wouldn't complain one bit from the building. I feel this isn't a bad place to have your older love ones stay at.
