My father is in Bickford of Virginia Beach. It's an excellent place, and it feels like home. Their food is delicious. It's very well kept. I have no qualms. I would recommend it. They bring in people from a local church, they have services, games, and music. The staff is very cooperative, friendly, professional, and attentive. They're a positive group of people.

Bickford of Virginia Beach would not be for me. It just seemed a little too down home, kind of like being at grandma's house, but the people that were there seemed to really enjoy it. I really wasn't crazy about the apartments they put you in. They had half walls in the bedroom, and it just seemed a little open. Everybody seemed to keep their doors open. It seems very much more like you were at home. It wouldn't work for me because I'm a different person, but my father-in-law will do fine there. I didn't have any engaging moments with anybody. They didn't have a lot to offer, as far as any literature to take with me. They seemed a bit disorganized, but everybody that was there seemed to be content. The staff was just a little bit jumbled because they had an event going on. They had a guitar player and a singer there. They do a birthday event every month, and I was there on the day that that was happening. It looks like they're engaged with their team. Everybody that was there looked happy. The girl that showed me around was very nice to me, and she seemed to know everybody. They have a place out front where they've got benches and outdoor patio furniture where people can go out and sit. They are on a nice piece of property right by the golf course. I didn't get a chance to taste the food, but it smelled lovely in there. You could tell that they had good food. They have chef made food, which they boasted of. They had a beauty salon and they had events. It just wasn't my kind of place.

We toured Bickford of Virginia Beach, and I think we are going to choose this place for my father. It had everything that we needed. The staff appeared to be caring, thoughtful, and engaging. The room had a built-in sit down shower. They had a microwave and a little refrigerator. The atmosphere of the facility was friendly. There was an exercise room for therapy and a barbershop.

Bickford of Virginia Beach was a big facility, and it was a little more established. The layout seemed to be spread out. It was set up so that everything was circular, so those with memory issues don't get lost. They could roam around and walk around. They had a large seating area. Their front porch was nice and they had a courtyard. The memory care side had a contained courtyard so they could go sit outside. They had a gardening area and a nice patio with a trellis. The staff who assisted me with the tour was great.

I love Bickford of Virginia Beach. That place just really impressed me. It was very nice and the people were great. The only downfall was that it was extremely expensive. If it wasn't so expensive, that's where I wanted mom to be. It was beautiful, very warm, and very homey. The apartments and the facilities were very nice. The lady we met was great. She was very personable, very caring, and also very nice.

I visited Bickford of Virginia Beach, and it was fabulous. The people and the staff there, and everything, was fabulous. They gave us so much information and made us feel like this could be the place when we get to a situation where my mom and dad needed to be together for assisted living. The woman we talked to give us information about checking with another place that had apartments, and then we can transition to assisted living when that need arises. The staff was superb. As we walked through the tour, in each section of that place, the cook, the maintenance people, and anybody who was in charge of anything made their way to us and introduced themselves and what their function was and made us feel like a family for real. If there was someplace for me to put my dad right away, that would have been it because they had a lot of senior activities. We came in when staff was doing a lip sync kind of program. All of the residents were there, and we got a chance to tour. The facility was clean, neat, and very well-appointed. It was like a family. It's very small and that's another appeal to it, they are not like hundreds of people. It was a small, family-oriented place. The person that we were with, her name's Heather, was a wealth of information as far as continuing our search. She was immensely helpful to my mom and me. I would recommend them to anyone ready to make that move. She really went above and beyond, even gave us some other information and made us feel free to go to different places I mentioned; she knew who was there and somebody that we could talk to. I saw the menu, and the chef and another kitchen person came out and talked to us about what they were offering. It was midday, so they were getting ready for lunch, but I didn't get a chance to try it.

Bickford of Virginia Beach was gorgeous. It was absolutely beautiful. That's my preference. It was up-to-date and clean. The tour guide was great. Her name was Heather, and I think she knew everybody's first name. They took me into the beauty parlor and to the rooms. They were all nice. They took me into the gardens, which were all decorated. They had lots of plants and trees. It was first class. The pictures on the wall and the artwork were good, and the furniture was nice. I just give it high regards. I think they had three different room styles. I toured the assisted living and memory care. The dining room was nice, and the menu was nice.

Bickford of Virginia Beach was beautiful and very well-managed. It's just that my mom is a lot younger than everybody that's there. Also, there wasn't a whole lot of outside activity (it was February when I went in there). They have games, gatherings of different sorts, card playing, and just more indoor-related behaviors and activities. If it was appropriate for my mom, I would think it would be an excellent place for someone. It's a nice place and it's in a great location. They were all very considerate, thoughtful, and professional.

I toured Bickford of Virginia Beach. Cleanliness is five stars. I would be honored for my mother to go there, if that's where she's going to go. The staff was fine. Everyone said hello. They have nice, clean, and spacious rooms. It was highly impressive. We looked at a little bit of everything that was available and what they have examples of in their rooms.

Bickford of Virginia Beach had a girl on-staff that greeted you at the front door. The girl I was supposed to tour with was busy with another client, so this girl at the front desk (who was a high school student) was the sweetest ever. She took time out of her job to accommodate me. She gave me a mini tour. She was a nice, wonderful, young woman. The facility was outstanding, beautiful and brand new. Everything was high end. I didn't get to really see a room per se. They showed me a floor plan, and I was just walking through. I could look in the rooms. The rooms looked like they had the same amenities that other places would have. It's very, very nice when you walk in.

Bickford of Virginia Beach was amazing. Their place was beautiful. Heather, who I spoke with, was wonderful and just very passionate. My mom has Alzheimer's so it was nice to know that part of their facility specializes in dementia and Alzheimer's patients. It was great. The rooms were beautiful and properly sized. Out of all the sites I went to go visit, this one felt the most like a home. There was really a home-feel and a community environment to it. It's one level, which is wonderful. I love that they have occupational and physical therapists on site. Bickford of Virginia Beach was my favorite. It was absolutely gorgeous. It was a small community, which was really nice. They have determined that it is not time for my mom to go in; however, should she go, she will be going into Bickford of Virginia Beach because it was literally phenomenal. We saw the assisted living but it also had memory care when the time was needed for my mom.
