I find this facility to be very unfriendly to the relative. My husband stays there and they help him with his medication management but when I call him they are rude and hang up the phone. And that is my husband. And the staff is not suppose to accept favors from the patients. One accepted something bought by my husband and another told him all about her marriage problems. She needs a counselor. Not my husband.

The Service was excellent , residents seem happy and enjoy the environment, which is on solar hill above downtown bristol. I have visited my grandmother at Fort Shelby recently. she was happy and well attended for, reported well of the service and enjoyed the food and interaction with housemates.

I have a client in Fort Shelby Manor. I am not impressed by the staff, many times I visit the mens living quarters and I have a hard time being able to find staff and when the staff is found it's usually, no more than one caregiver vs alot of residents. The meals appear suitable but the staffing problem seems to be an ongoing problem. I actually enetered the ladies dwelling and could find no staff and one of the residents on a walker, took me down a hall way and showed me where a buzzer was to ring for an attendent. I rang the buzzer and a caregiver came down the elevator and ask me what I needed. The residents were unattended.I would personally not find Shelby Manor suitable for my agining mother.

I worked with a couple of clients who lived in this facility. One client complained that the staff did not clean very well, although I personally had never observed this. The rooms were large but had as many as four people sharing them and little was done by the management to work out problems between the residents. The meals, however, appeared quite good and plentiful, but the management was often difficult to contact as they did not appear to keep regular hours.
