I toured Brookdale Western Hills. I got good vibes when I went in there. The staff was very friendly. Alicia was very nice and very informative. It's a smaller home. It had a more cozy home feel to it. As I went around, most of the amenities were about the same, the appearance and all of that, but I focused on the people who were there. The ones that are being taken care of. It seemed to be a pretty close-knit group of people. Everybody seemed to be pretty happy. The staff seemed to be comfortable. They seemed to be very close as well. The community layout is pretty good.

The best thing about Brookdale Western Hills is that it's a secure place, so you have to ring the doorbell to be able to get in. It's a smaller place that I think my friend would like. They have good food. They have a chef. The staff members are nice. They knew what they were doing and everything. They have a salon, a doctor, and a podiatrist. They can take my friend to appointments.

I toured Brookdale Western Hills. From one out of ten, that's a ten. They've been wonderful. I like their care for calling back and follow-up and for just how gentle and how respectful they are in dealing with the family. The facilities were great. They're wonderful. I couldn't ask for anything better. The amenities were fantastic. They have a dining area, a game area, exercise, and a garden.

I got to tour Brookdale Western Hills. It was very dark and dim but it seemed very homey. The staff member that gave us the tour was fine. They were wonderful. They had medical facilities that they offered, which were nice. The location was close to everything and the place itself was spotless. It was wonderful.

My family and I love the peace of mind knowing that Mom is well taken care of and happy. She, and my family, appreciate the personable staff and the quality of care along with the relationships she has built with other residents since moving to Brookdale. Mom enjoys her own apartment that gives her that sense of independence; the various activities that are scheduled weekly; and the daily meals as she loves good food. My family, Mom, and I are are blessed to have found such a wonderful place for her to call home sweet home.

God led me to these folks. My soon to be 94 year old mother is thriving since she moved into the facility.

The staff at Brookdale Western Hills are very insightful and helpful as we navigate a very difficult and unknown journey with our loved one with Dementia. They are available for questions and send text messages and updates to reassure us of how things are going. They also provide us the encouragement and support in how to best help our loved one The added bonus is the facility is welcoming and the food is excellent. As we journey this new path with Brookdale Western Hills, I know we are in excellent hands to not walk this road alone.

I went to Brookdale Western Hills, which is an assisted living center. Overall, it was a nice community. The staff was very nice. There was an activity going on; they were having an exercise class at the time. It appeared to me that more of the patients had dementia issues, whereas my mother-in-law doesn't. I was just looking for a facility that didn't necessarily cater to memory care. The rooms were older. They only had one room available for her, and it was a little bit bigger than we needed, so I just immediately eliminated them, but the staff was nice. The costs were very expensive. The person who gave me a tour was very nice. The facilities were older and less updated. They had an exercise class going on at the time, and they probably had about 15 percent participation. I got there after breakfast, but I got there during a meeting with the residents when they were doing a dietary survey. They were taking the survey of the residents and some of them had concerns about portion size. I didn't see that, I just heard the meeting in progress. The facility is nice and clean, it's just older. They could update the rooms. They were definitely dated.

We did a tour of Brookdale Western Hills. It was very positive. The facility was well run. They have a caring staff and it was clean. It was a valid option; we would have definitely considered putting her there. The things we were most interested in were assistance with medication, assistance with transportation, and the programs or engagement activities that they offer to their clients like bingo, jigsaw puzzles, and exercise. They were doing programs that would help to engage the senior community.

Brookdale Western Hills was fine. The thing I didn't like when I went in was there were a bunch of people sitting around in the living room in wheelchairs like they do in a nursing home. The apartment itself was really nice; I liked it a lot, but the hallways didn't feel like an apartment. They felt like a warehouse. They seemed to have everything you needed. There was nothing bad there, it just wasn't as pleasing as the other one. The staff was wonderful. They had pipes freezing, and they were in the process of remodeling. It seemed a little dated and a little shabby to me. It's not hard to get to, and it's not hard to get to the hospital or to the grocery store from there. It was convenient for visitors and for them to have little trips to the doctor and stuff like that.

I had friends at Brookdale Western Hills, and they were very satisfied with it. You can add assistance as needed. If you decide you need to have somebody take care of your medications for you, you can add that to the bill. They had a TV room, a courtyard facility, and exercise machines. It's a small place, and it's one story.

My parents liked that Brookdale Western Hills was small. The staff was very good and very cordial. The apartment we looked at had a small living area and a separate bedroom, a bath, and a walk-in closet. They had a dining room, common areas and sitting areas, a courtyard where they had flowers, a gazebo for barbecue, a hairstylist comes in, and they had a laundry facility. The food was very good, and my parents liked it a lot. The facility was in a square, but it's easy to maneuver, and there weren't any stairs.

The staff at Brookdale Western Hills was very nice. Everything was fine, but it didn't smell fresh and clean. It was lunchtime and there were people in the dining area, which was very close to the front door. It was cheerful and had good colors in it. They had a salon, a craft room, and a library.

I liked Brookdale Western Hills, but they changed hands a lot, and my ex-husband was asked to leave because of his behavioral issues due to his head injury. The food was great, and they had an activities director. If you’re only there for assisted living and don't have other health issues, it's a good place, but if you have dementia or brain injury, they don't know how to take care of behavioral issues. They have a day room with TVs all over the place and an outdoor court, but no pool. It's a locked facility, but they have areas where you could out. You're able to have pets, and they do your washing and help clean your room. We got into an altercation, and I took my ex-husband for a psychological evaluation as they asked me to, but they didn't accept him back and I had no place to put him. I had to go and move the stuff out of his room.

My mother is in Brookdale Western Hills (Formerly Sterling House of Temple). I like their size, which is very small. I found the staff to be helpful. They've got bingo, they take them out, they do chair exercises, they bring people in to give them an opportunity to have music and they take them to Wal-Mart. The staff members that work round-the-clock have been absolutely kind and gentle with my mother. I would give the caretakers a 5. They just should do better as far as keeping the bathrooms a little bit cleaner, but the attitude of the staff has been really positive.

One of the places that I visited that I really liked was Brookdale. The staff seemed to be on top of everything. It was a little bit more expensive, but I thought if my mother would have been there, she would be in better health. The residents said, "Please bring your mother." "Come join us." We only walked in, and I thought they were playing dominoes or bingo, but they were like, "Just please come in." When we were doing the visit, they were doing a staff meeting, and we saw all of the staff. It was a very light-hearted, happy atmosphere. I was very impressed with the director who was giving us the tour. She had talked about how sometimes she comes in the middle of the night or like 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning to make sure she knew what was going on overnight so as not to depend on someone else's opinion. It was very clean. It smelled fresh, and that was very impressive. The rooms were nice. They were in a nice size. Thinking back, if she had gone there, we would have been happier. They seemed to be 100 percent on safety. They were very conscious of their safety. They were very conscious to speaking to everyone that was there. When we were there, whether it was the residents, the staff or the director, they were all about stopping and speaking to you. They all seemed to want to meet us. They all wanted to know about my mom, when we were going to bring her there. Just the overall friendliness was really good.

The décor was very nice. There was a warm atmosphere. They had nice staff who were very polite, and very helpful. It was the staff that kind of sold me on it. I was impressed with Brookdale Western Hills (Formerly Sterling House of Temple). It pretty much fit my needs.

Sterling House was a really nice place. It was much smaller than the other facility my mother was at. They had all the amenities that you might want. The food was good. The rooms and apartments were nice. The staff was nice, and they had a really nice director at the time of my visit. They were good and really helpful. They had bible classes. They also had a library with a big screen TV, and they take the residents to the mall once a week.

Sterling House was a lovely facility, just very, very nice and the staff was very helpful. But it wouldn't have been a good fit for my mother because she needs more one-on-one care. It was immaculate from what we saw. They had a lot of activities going on. I think they played bingo, they took trips into town. I thought they had an in-house beauty shop there. It was very nice.

Sterling House was very helpful with information before we moved in. They were very courteous. My mother is very content and happy, and we're very pleased. The atmosphere was very homey, and the staff was very caring. Everybody has their own apartment, but then they were welcome to join in socially on anything that was available, and it was small enough that you felt comfortable. The rooms are adequate for what you need. The one that we chose was very sunny and bright and comfortable. The food was good. I understand they have a new chef, so I haven't tried the food since the new chef has come in. But the old chef was very good. They did offer choices. They ask your favorites, likes, and dislikes. They're also very accommodating in that they have alternatives.

Sterling House had a nice environment. They had larger rooms and comfortable for two people. The residents seemed happy there. I had my parents on their waiting list.

I visited Sterling House for my wife. I like the looks of this facility. I like how they laid out this place. It is completely circular, so you can walk around it. There are many rooms inside. The staff is very, very nice. They interact with their residents quite often. They also have activities for them. They were sitting and talking, just socializing. They were all smiles. I never saw a frown anywhere. I spent time both with the staff and residents there and I think they're great. We were even invited to have a meal; unfortunately I was in a hurry to go somewhere else.

We were very happy when my mom first moved into the Sterling House of Temple. It was phenomenal and the people were great. They had Dolly and Faith on their staff and they were very professional. The food was tremendous as well. But then, they let them go and new people came in that I find very unprofessional. Now, these people just treat us with total disrespect. They also let go of their chef, and the food is now terrible. I'm also paying an additional of $585 monthly for fees that we weren't aware of before we moved in and signed the contract. My mother's been there for about a month and I was surprised that somebody from marketing called me up to inquire if she had decided to join their community. So, how can I be comfortable when they didn't even know she was already there? Right now, I'm not happy with them at all.

When my Grandmother and got to Sterling House of Temple there the receptionist ensured us she would be in great hands. She listened to all my grandmothers needs, made notes of her situation and provided a guideline on everything they could do for her. They showed us around and offered us special quarters for my Grandmothers health needs. Not to much of a big difference compared to the others but it gave her piece of mind that someone was close by to feed her, bath her, dress her and help her walk around. During her stay she was encouraged to be independent as possible. They also had activities and get together's with the other members such as arts and crafts and other various things to keep them up and about and not glued to the tv. It gave my grandmother at times a great feeling of accomplishment, especially when I called her to check up on her she would be so happy she did this and that. In my opinion if someone has gotten to the point to where they need assistance to live I think that Sterling House of Temple provides a home like feeling, a sense of freedom, and relief knowing that someone is close by if needed.
