I am/was a resident of this facility

The facility is filthy in need of urgent repair. Some of the staff appeared to be somewhat mentally challenged, negligent, inept and begrudging when it comes to patient care. I was a patient for 2 of the most miserable weeks of my life. The food is inedible slop I wouldn't feed a pig. I waited 2+ hours in dire need to use a bedpan, as my call button was repeatedly ignored. This happened on frequent occasions. I actually had to call the main number from their website to get a nurse to come in my room. There is only one nurse on duty at night per 31 patients. During the day, one caregiver as well, who herself is ageing, recovering from cancer surgery and clearly overwhelmed. No shower in the room, one public shower for 'ALL'... My room was swept and mopped 2x , only after I complained, the entire 2 weeks I was there. My family personally saw staff dancing in the break room, and on personal phones, while call lights from desperate patients were ignored in the halls. I was left to languish in a soaking wet diaper at night, freezing cold, while my call button remained unanswered. I heard screams coming from patients down the hall. My experience has left me traumatized and I have taken further action with the State of Texas to report this house of horrors !!!!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife is at The Woodlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I don't go over there too often, but they seem to take good care of her. She's combative since she had a stroke. She doesn't want to take her medicine or none of that stuff. The facility is pretty nice looking. She has just a regular room, and it's got two beds. It's a two-people room. The hallways are pretty long. They're pretty nice people and they seem to be pretty caring and helpful. They do a good job. I would recommend them. They give the same care that they did when she was in the hospital. She is in rehab because they're teaching her how to talk and how to walk. She can't do either one after her last stroke.

The rooms at the Woodlands are average. The care and food are pretty good. My mother-in-law has been there for about three weeks. The residents seem OK.

This is a terrible place. I gave them a star because of some nurses and personnel that really care but they can do nothing. The personnel is not enough to provide care to the residents. I have seen residents unattended crying for water or almost about to fall from their chairs and no one helping them. I called the nurses desk and no one came to help a lady crying for water. Don't go to this place.

I visited this facility

Woodlands appeared to be very clean and very friendly. The staff appeared friendly to the people, very attentive, and caring. They had a very good outlook to their job. I didn't notice any nursing home smell. It's not the most up to date, but it appeared clean, and I was impressed. I've been really happy with them thus far.

i would not trust my loved one here. this facility was so bad that i reported them to the state. my mother was here for rehab for a few months. the rehab side of things was wonderful, but the nursing/care side was terrible. Especially to the patients that could not advocate for themselves.I saw things that noone's loved one should have to go through.steer clear! i would give it zero stars if i could have.

One staff person for an entire floor. When patient presses "help" button, it takes 2 hours for someone to come in. Patients lie in feces for 2 - 3 hours. Staff comes in but ignore the feces smell and do nothing. Patients are medicated to keep them quiet so staff does not have to attend them. Nursing staff is crude, rude and uncaring. We had to hire an aide to stay with our mother since staff will not come when needed. Do not leave your loved one here without staying with them 24/7. Cruel and inhumane punishment.

The beautiful lobby is what drew us in. The rooms were always dirty and had poor lighting. The staff seemed to consider my mom to be a nuisance, so they would wait sometimes more than 30 minutes to answer her call light. In one instance, she rang the call bell and we waited 15 minutes for someone to take her to the bathroom. When I went to check the nurses station, a male nurse was giving a female nurse a backrub and they were just talking. To say I was livid is an understatement. I would not allow anyone I know to be a resident in this facility.

I had a Grandmother that recently stayed at the Woodlands Health Care Center. I also have a relative that works at the facility. In my opinion it was a very good place for my Grandmother to spend the last days of her life. The facility was clean with a very educated staff. Her room was always attended to and was recently remodeled. The bathroom was very pleasant to be in and had all the necessary equipment for my Grandmother to get around easily. Also the staff was very kind. When I visited her she always had nice things to say about them including personal conversations she had with them. Also, they celebrated holidays and kept it as up beat as possible. It was always decorated to to go with whatever season it was. It was very large but they had such a large staff that they could accommodate everyone. Whenever there was a time I wanted to come by I could. We also could take her out and bring her to our house as long as she was back by a certain time which was never a big deal. Another plus was that the hospital was right down the rode so if ever there was an emergency it was never a far drive. Overall the Woodlands Health Care center was a good place that I myself would not mind staying in if it ever came to that.
