My mother has moved into Silverado Southlake Memory Care Community. It's very nice. It's very welcoming, warm, friendly, clean, and well kept. The staff is excellent. She hasn't been there very long, but they're attentive, kind, and friendly. They have outings every week or two. They have physical therapy and occupational therapy offered onsite. They have bingo, word games, group activities, and they have flower arranging every Friday. They have a happy hour with live music every Thursday. They baked and decorated cookies for the holidays. They have crafts and stuff like that. They have a music therapist that works as one of the engagements people. The food is above average and it's free for family visitors.

Housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance are all exceptional at Silverado. Do not put your loved one here if they have a colostomy bag. They are too big with ever changing caregivers so they can not consistently empty a bag or do PRN drugs. Make sure you have a camera in your loved one's room. That is how I communicated with my mom. I had to call twice because they forgot to feed her. They say they have pets, but they were not in my mom's building of Gardenview. She was put in the lowest of 3 buildings because of her bag for extra care. Gardenview building gets fewer activities when they don't have enough help. I asked that my mom be brought over to Lakeside for actives where she had a blast and ate two of her meals at their beautifully set tables when they remembered to get her. Silverado is very good at listening and trying to implement ways to help your loved one. Nurse Miranda and Nurse Brea are wonderful and treated my mom like family. If my mom did not have the bag, lived in Lakeside with the one community cat Bandit, and participated in Jennifer's awesome activities, it would have been would been a great home. Unfortunately, it was not a good match for my mom.

I had the privilege of visiting the Silverado Southlake facility and I have to say that I was incredibly impressed. I have toured a number a facilities in the area and nothing comes close to Southlake. I was greeted by such a warm and kind receptionist who went out of their way to make me feel seen and heard. The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The environment was clean, cozy, and inviting...everything you would want and need for your loved one. I would highly recommend Silverado Southlake. They go over and beyond for their residents which is so important!

Silverado Southlake seemed to be the most well-rounded care center that we found. My stepdad has been there for about a month. It seems to be a much higher level of care. My stepdad has a basic shared room, nothing special. They have some private rooms available. They have quite a bit of engagement programs.

My mom was in Silver Ridge for a year and a half. It was not very good, and when it changed owners six months ago, we saw the decline. The cleanliness and upkeep were not maintained, it looked shabby around the edges, and they started adding more residents, but the number of caregivers remained the same.

Silverado Southlake is a lovely environment. It have a large green space that overlooks a small lake. The caregivers are very loving and attentive to my sister. They have specific activities for memory loss patients. She has a lovely apartment that is one room but very large. They have a chef that prepares specific meals for them and is very conscious with the food. There is a nursing staff there at all times. They have many activities. It's a lovely place, and the people are very friendly.

Silver Ridge always seemed nice and fresh. The people were very kind and very good to my brother-in-law. He was there for one year. The food and dining area were both great. He found a friend there who kind of adopted him. His room is not really spacious; there's a room for a bed and a dresser and he shared a bathroom with his great friend. Unfortunately, we had an unpleasant incident because of a Texas law -- we were told to move out and it left an unpleasant taste in our mouths.

We chose it because it is close to our house and it's $600 a month less expensive than the others we were considering. The employees are super kind and friendly and real selling point for me is that there is one caregiver for every four patients. Another thing is that he is in assisted living and it is not quite as confining as the dementia. The only thing that makes it a 4 is that the patio that has a lot plants and he doesn't see the sunlight. So, he feels like he is in a whole.

My dad spent 3 monthss here recovering from a fall involving diabetes complications and a broken wrist. The facilities were roomy, clean, and inviting. The staff friendly and helpful both to our family visiting daily and to the residents. The food was appealing and served in a family atmosphere to encourage interaction between the residents, who each spent much of their day in their private rooms with individual restrooms (the assisted showers were separate). The care was quality and promted no complaints from my dad, who can be critical and cranky. The cost was reasonable, considering other such facilities, and the pricing ranged from $80/day-$92/day depending on what services were needed. Residents can have their own cars on-premises.
