My friend is now at Atria Grapevine. He is fully capable of independent living, but he doesn't feel comfortable in that position. He wants to be in a position where he can get help if he needs it. He's 96 years old and he is able to dress himself, feed himself, and take a shower by himself. He can walk around, but he uses a walker. The condition of the place is very good. When my friend moved into his room, it was excellently cleaned. I couldn't find any problem at all with cleanliness. It had a little bit of wear and tear, but not much. It was very livable. There were some more bumps and chips and that sort of thing. The staff are very helpful and very caring. They've checked on him numerous times. They've gotten to know him and his capabilities. He likes being there. He likes the staff very much. One of the reasons why my friend left the previous community was a food issue, and he says the food there is very good. He's very happy with the meals. He has somewhat of a special diet, and they're very willing to help him meet that special diet. They're very, very helpful. They have all kinds of activities. He is particularly interested with bingo. They have all kinds of different entertainment, which he likes, particularly like music and singing and that sort of thing. He has a visual problem, so he can't get involved in crafts and cooking. He is somewhat limited, but in the things that he does, he's enjoying himself.

We had a productive visit with staff while touring assisted living facilities in the area for our Mother. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable. The rooms are clean and spacious. We especially like the covered front and back patio space. Overall, it is very nice senior living facility!

Staff is so caring and residents we met were open and friendly to us. Tyszu was a wonderful ambassador and answered all of our questions. She went out of her way to bring a meal to my aunt so she could sample the chef’s offerings. Absolutely caring and compassionate.

I went to Atria Grapevine. What I liked the best was that everyone was very friendly. We got to meet all of the different people on the staff and everything was very organized. The cleanliness was great. The structure was okay, but it was three different floors. I know some people probably like that. They had elevators. The rooms were nice and big, so I think it would be a great place to live. I felt welcomed and I felt like they cared.

I toured Atria Grapevine. They just have a good system of things to do. It was clean. They were prompt all the time, they didn't take too long. The facility was good. I guess I have put a little bit if you have a lot of things and it is expensive for the size of the room.

We took a tour of the facility as a potential place for mom. It was a refreshing experience. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I could tell the staff enjoy working at Atria and helping the residents. I could also tell the residents really enjoy their home. Definitely a place to consider.

Atria Grapevine was very active. There are a lot of activities and a lot of going on for the residents. The staff who gave the tour was friendly and well-informed. He was good. However, he said he was going to email me something, and he never did. The cleanliness and structure of the building was great. It's a very large facility. It's multiple stories, so it's more like a big hotel with a lot of halls. The atmosphere was good. However, I feel like it's a great place for people mostly independent people. My mother has quite a bit of dementia, so it's not a good fit for her it was a really big space, and I'm sure she would get lost in it. They have a lot of activities like going on trips and just stuff that would not fit her. I think it's a great place for somebody who wants their meals prepared and wants social interaction with people their age. But for people that may have dementia or something, I don't think it's that great of a place for that.

When I walked into Atria Grapevine, the first thing that I saw were some people were sitting out front (a group of women and a couple of men, and they were just enjoying trying to get their sunshine and their vitamin D, and that was lovely. They were sitting out there in this wonderful weather we're having right now in Texas. I thought, "Well, these people are happy. They wouldn't be here if they weren't." The lady who met me at the door, she was just so kind and so sweet. The rooms are very spacious, and I like the idea in the shower that they can just walk right in. It's very spacious and clean. It would certainly fit my friend's needs. The rooms were very clean. The director explained everything. It's not that far from my house. I wished it was a little closer. I went over in the memory care department, and they did have activities. When I went by the other side, the ladies were painting, and they were doing some projects, and I think that's wonderful. They had some of the people's work displayed, and that's nice. That feels good. They got nice, cute artwork over there. There are attendants around everywhere. In the activity room, I saw three attendants, and there were two ladies. They were working with them and that's comforting.

I have been pleasantly surprised with the care and food at Atria. Mom is getting 3 meals and she feels that she eats all the time :) The staff is very pleasant and friendly from the front desk, wait staff for meals, care givers, Directors and Doctors. Mom is safe and seems to like the facility, especially BINGO!

Atria Grapevine is very receptive, caring, and has a lot of activities. So, the tour overall was very, very good. We got to go pretty much everywhere in the whole facility. It was very bright and very, very sunny. There were some nice gardens outside and courtyard areas. The residents seemed to be enjoying themselves. I saw them involved in activities. That kind of gives you an idea of what the place is. The residents were having happy hour when we got there. We saw activity in both levels, the assisted and memory. They were about to start playing the game, and so that was nice to see. A chef prepared us a luncheon and we got to eat in a private dining room. This is after we'd already done some of the tours. We came back into the dining room and had a delightful lunch. It was really good. I also asked a resident about the food and she said it was pretty good. So that's really important at that age.

I am writing this review so that people who are trying to make the right decision with respect to their loved one. Atria Grapevine is not what they portray themselves to be. I want to first start with my overall experience with respect to the facility based on my actual experiences for the 5 months that my mother lived in the facility. • They are chronically understaffed, and this leads to a level of service that was not anywhere near what they portrayed when they we first visited the facility. They didn’t have enough staff to: o promptly serve the residents their meals. o check on my mother as often as they said they would o communicate patient care effectively and promptly. This lead medication not being stopped, not being changed, etc. • The food steadily deteriorated over the time we were there. When we moved in it was good, the menu was varied. By the time we moved out it not as good as your average high school cafeteria • Maintenance and cleaning were almost non-existent. We had to make repeated requests for the lock on her door to be fixed, her toilette to stop leaking/running and to fix her a/c. The a/c unit for the apartment was woefully small for the square footage of the actual apartment • Even though you pay for cleaning, they are not very diligent and thorough when it comes to cleaning the apartment. I even swept some items into a corner to see how long it would take them to clean them up. They never did and I had to point it out to them Now we need to get into the financial aspects of the operation. My mother executed a lease in April 2019 and moved into the facility in mid-May. In the lease there is a clause that points out that if you are not physically living in the facility, you must pay your rent to keep your apartment but you are not going to be expected to pay for care, meds, etc. We noticed what we believed to be some billing issues and requested a meeting with the facility director in June. We discussed that per the lease we should not have been billed for the care and meds. Janie agreed that we should not have been charged and would get them credited back to us. We asked for a second meeting in July to discuss the issue from June as well as some other issues. This time the Medical Director was also included. We informed Janie that we were still looking for our refund for April and May. She was going to investigate it. More importantly we discussed that they had a new staffer who is charged with assisting the residents overnight. My mother complained that this new person was “mean” and when we asked what she meant she told me that “this lady asks me if I just stupid. And that I need to help her “We were told that they had an idea of who this person was and that it would be addressed. Instead of terminating this person they simply transferred them to another job. After that fact we discovered that there had been multiple complaints about this staffer We finally did get this credit to our account sometime in late July. There was change in Directors in October while my mother left the facility for a medical procedure. She was in the hospital and a rehab for the next three months. During that time was continued to be charged for the charges in excess of the monthly rent. We have repeatedly requested a refund of this balance with no response. To top it off, even though we were told that they could not accept my Mother back due to their assessment they did debit her account for the January payment. On an aside, my Mother was able to get into another facility at a reduced level of care. It does not appear that we are going to receive the requested refund amiably so “buyer beware” when it comes to Atria Grapevine

I really like Atria Grapevine. It's big, open, and nice. My sister was there for two months. They call it independent and assisted living, but everybody needed much more help than she was. It's kind of geared up both in price and in the community itself as being very assisted living. I really enjoyed the staff. Everybody was good. They had a lot of turnover and new hires while I was there. She complained there weren't enough staff at lunch. They had to wait a long time for meals. She was in a studio, and it was very nice. They let us use the respite room for a couple of weeks. They had a lot going on and a great activity director, but they had a very small activity room. My sister was very involved and had lots to do there. She was very pleased with the food. They're cheaper than a lot of other places.

Atria Grapevine assessed Mom and decided she would not be a good fit for their community. The location was what I wanted, and the facility looked fine. Mom just needed more care than what they could provide. The staff member was very polite and gave me a nice tour. The rooms looked nice.

Atria Grapevine was clean, nice, and more facilitated toward memory care. It's a nice facility, but the memory care was more of a focus than the well-being of an aging senior who needs assistance but still understands what's going on. The rooms were small, so that was a concern.

I didn’t really like Atria Grapevine. It was older than what I wanted and even more expensive. It just didn't seem to standout and everything was a la carte. If you wanted something it cost more; it gets confusing. It just didn't look well kept.

My mom is in Atria Grapevine. The room has a small kitchen area, a large pantry, large storage spaces, a good size living room and bedroom, and a good size bathroom. She pays a little bit more but she likes it there. They have Bingo and card games too.

Atria Grapevine is an exceptional facility, it's very well staffed, and they have a memory care wing and beautiful courtyards out on each side of the building -- one for memory care and one for assisted living. The dining room was very nice -- like a nice restaurant. Overall, the place is very welcoming.

We took our parents at Atria Grapewine for a visit, and they liked it, but they were not that ready. It's a very nice facility, and it’s clean and very well appointed. The staff was very nice and informative. Their dining area is very nice, and it looked like a restaurant. They have day trips, shopping, excursions, and they take the residents on walks.

Atria Grapevine looks nice, but they have lazy staff. I was not fond of their staff at all. I don’t know about their staffing, but they are honest people but they are lazy. They don’t do a really good job of making sure that the patients have good nutrition. They don’t do a good job in making they don’t get urinary tract infections. They are not the quality of staff that we have seen at other places, and I am specifically talking about the memory care area where you need it the most. My mom is getting to the final stage of Alzheimer’s disease, and as you progress with the disease, you don’t know how to hold a fork and knife, and rather than helping her eat, they gave her grilled cheese sandwiches three days a week. I am only rating the memory care if my mother had been in the senior living part of it I would probably rate them very highly. It’s a nice facility, they are honest, but the memory care was a real disappointment. I didn’t like the activities, there weren’t that many activities, didn’t feel like my mom’s mind was engaged that she was really being attended to, and then she kept getting infections and she gained weight because of how they were feeding her.

Atria Grapevine was very nice and clean. I think they're excellent. However, it's a lot more expensive. Nevertheless, the rooms there seemed nice. Unlike the other facility, they did seem to have more help and more activities. They even have crafts room for their residents. My mom and I went for a lunch and then a tour and the food was really good. The chef came out and introduced himself, which was nice.

I had a very good tour at Atria Grapevine. The facility was very nice and very well cared for. The customer care person, who toured us around, definitely knew what she was talking about. She was very knowledgeable. What probably my main hesitation there was their price. All the care and extra help for assisted living was based on how many hours. Also in turn the price would get higher. Relatively to others though, in terms of cost, it wasn't the lowest nor the highest.
