I went to Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation to visit my mother. Upkeep is good. They keep the rooms clean. I don't know how often they change the linens, but if asked, they will change them. They're just a little shorthanded in giving personal hygiene care. I've had to do it myself twice with my mother just because they didn't have enough staff available, but they treated them well. My mother loves their food. I tried one of their steak patties with gravy and it was good. I haven't witnessed a lot of activities going on, though. I'm not there during the day, but I have walked in briefly during the day and I will see residents kind of just parked in their beds in front of a TV or out in the hallway. I don't see a lot going on with activities.

My father is at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I don't think they are very good. He's always just miserably unhappy and his pants are always wet. For the longest time, my mother kept taking over all his clothes, and all the clothes are gone, they just disappeared. I had to call the top person in the company to get his clothes back. I don't understand where over 20 pairs of pants could have gone, no socks, no underwear, nothing, it's all gone. I realized that they do the laundry, but they should bring them back. Everybody that I've talked to has been nice. I think the problem is that they're understaffed like a lot of places are. He says the food is not good, now he's been in another nursing home before and he says the food was great. His room is dark and drab but they keep it clean. They have a therapy room. It's very expensive for what he gets. It took forever to get his clothes back, he's been in there for two months. We keep buying him clothes and bringing them in, then they'd lose those clothes. Everything was marked with his name because I put it on myself, and they were gone again. When you called and asked for certain things to be done, they never get back to you.

My dad had to have a hip replacement due to a fall. We live 6 1/2 hours away from Fredericksburg so when asking for recommendations, this is the one everyone recommended. So glad they did because they were excellant in caring for my dad. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and hard working. Physical Therapy was excellant and we met all administrative staff within the first day we were there. Nursing was very helpful and forthcoming in his treatment plan. I would highly recommend this facility!!!

I was recently a patient at Windcrest Nursing and Rehab for a second time. The facility is lovely with spacious, bright rooms, with private baths. The staff is cheerful, helpful, and efficient from housekeepers to the administrator. The therapy was just perfect for.me both times that I was there. I thought that the food was very good and p!entyful. Everyone was so nice, caring, and helpful. I would.certainly reccomed this facility to everyone and, if need be, use it again myself

I am very happy with Windcrest Nursing and Rehab in Fredericksburg. They have everything from skilled nursing to rehab. The rooms are just typical nursing home rooms. The staff is taking care very well. The food is fine, and the dining room is very spacious. I like the place. They have a very nice and happy staff.

Disappointed in Windcrest. First thing out of their mouth was how much money do you have. Personal info as this is no ones business. The complex itself is up for sale as they haven't been making the profite as they need to. Its asham how this unit has runned down over the last few years.
