I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom, a 92 year young, became a rehab patient on 01/06/2024, still to present. The staff is very friendly Helpful. Polite. Caring. Knowledgeable. Hard working. Dependable. Courteous. Cheerful. Each of them seem to be dedicated to their jobs. The Director of Admissions, Business Office, Admin, Social Services, Therapists, all "Front Office" persons have gone above & beyond to accommodate our family physically, emotional and financially. Sometimes, having a patient in Rehab can be overwhelming. North East is always there for us. The entire center is clean and very well maintained. The exterior and lawn is well maintained. The food is very appealing. Mom has made so much progress here. My family is blessed & grateful to be here.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have been in a rehab business before. It had big bedrooms and huge bathrooms for each person. No one had to share.. Northeast rehab is different. Residents have to share a tiny bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom is only big enough for a small person. A wheelchair will not fit in there. The person closest to the bathroom can see and hear all the sounds the other person makes in that bathroom because the door cannot be shut. The courtyard is ugly with cigarette butts. There is broken concrete and not enough sitting places. The building the courtyard is closest to needs repair because of broken bricks and heavily laden gutters that water is not able to drain from. While in the buildings I could hear some residents yelling for help on a constant basis. Looking in their doors I could see they seemed stuck to their beds, not able to walk. I would not want any of my family to be here.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I was skeptic after the first night spent here. I felt like I was well enough to go home. After hearing from all the wonderful therapy staff about all the progress I could make it made me want to try to do better. I ended up staying a little over 3 weeks and gained so much strength back to be able to do things on my own again. The therapy team is motivating and the staff was sincere in wanting me to go home successfully. I hope I do not have another fall and need therapy but If i ever do I will ask to be transferred to northeast rehab. They are like family.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My parents were at Northeast Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for two months. I thought that it was clean at first, but then, it didn't smell clean the multiple times I returned. It had a homey feel to it at first. It didn't look safe in the front as far as where the residents were sitting. The place didn't have a comfortable atmosphere up front. The courtyard's gazebo was dilapidated. You couldn't take a wheelchair up the ramp because it was made out of some type of deck material. It wasn't very shaded in the courtyard, so it was hard to take the residents out to sit. There was a very large number of residents.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The staff seemed very nice and caring at North East Rehab. They were very positive -- especially the rehab people. My aunt has been there since March. She had a nice private room. They had two, spacious dining rooms. They had locked doors, but there was always a person by the door. Everybody was kind and caring, and that impressed us.

I visited this facility

I have visited this facility over a period of years for different loved ones. I must point out that in talking to the friends I go with they are quite happy with the facility and care received. The building always seems to be in a constant sate of repair no matter when I go. It is a mix of very nice and new combined with obviouse older and in need of repair areas. The staff is approachable but not overly friendly. To specify it seems like they are a part of the facility and willing to help just very established in their job tasks and routines. Staffing seems appripriate but not abundant. All residents are clean and seem happy. The long term care I saw reminds me more of a home care setting. The residents seem VERY well cared for but the feel of the home is much different than usual. The facility is very easy to get to and in a very quiet location. Most every time I attended there is just one parking spot left so I cannot say the parking is bad but it is very limited.
