My father has been at Cottonwood Creek Healthcare Community for the past year with early stage dementia and I am very satisfied with the attention and care that he has been given. The directors are very informative and helpful and keep me updated on my father's health. The staff members that I've met are attentive and kind. I am confident they provide the best care. The facility has recently acquired a new activities director so I know this has been a fantastic addition to the program. It has definitely encouraged my father to get more involved with the other residents and it has really improved his experience.

The rooms are clean with no bugs. There are plenty of electrical outlets to charge cell phones and other devices along the room walls. The staff is very pleasant and helpful when first entering the facility answering questions to get me settled in. I'm very blessed to have chosen this facility to regain my independence.

This facility has come a long way , my neighbor had a fall at home and never recovered fully due to her dementia and ended up in their memory care. She has been in their care for almost 2 years now and each time I’ve visited I must say that The staff are very attentive and caring towards her and her room was clean or being cleaned every time I was there. The carpet has been replaced with hard wood floors and looks really great.I’m just happy that she is in a clean caring environment.

The rooms are nice. No bugs. That's very important to me. I am lucky I have a shower in my bathroom. I need it because I am oxygen dependent. 4.5 of oxygen at all times. They have great tasting snacks and tasting meals and desserts. They gave me gift basket my first day here. That was really cool. It had a little bit of everything you need in it. Mid morning everyday Patsy comes a around with cart and you can choose orange juice or coffee or hot chocolate. I love that and I look forward to it everyday. Nothing but good vibes here and positivity. I love that. It's really important to me and all the people here. Everyone is so kind nice sweet compassionate understanding helpful and thoughtful all the staff.

Cottonwood Creek Healthcare Community in Richardson makes me feel as if I was home. It makes me feel love, safe, secure, and appreciated. The care is excellent, I have lived here for almost 2 years. The Activities Department has gone all out during these circumstances. The staff is very helpful and supportive during the Pandemic of the Coronavirus. They have not had a case of the Coronavirus this far, they have made sure that we remains safe and free of Covid-19. While other nursing homes have positive cases. Cottonwood Creek does NOT have any positive cases. I have made close friends here and they feel relaxed and love and this is our home. It is a great homelike feeling. I like how we can enjoy the outside outings with home made Barbeque. The staff and residents are friendly and loving. I like how I have hot coffee ready in the morning. The staff goes Above and Beyond of the call of duty. I do not want to leave here. Everyone is attentive to my needs. I HIGHLY recommends this place.

My husband is at Cottonwood Creek Healthcare Community. They've been there for a number of years now and several people from the El Dorado where I currently live have moved over there. He's been getting great care, the nurses and the aides are wonderful to him, and he seems very happy. They have private and semi-private rooms, and he has a room to himself with a bathroom. It's a locked down wing for the memory care, but they have activities all the time and meals for them. They have games and they make sure they get the people out of their rooms to stay active and keep their minds working as much as they can. He eats everything on his plate. They just remodeled the place. I chose it because I could afford it, and it's all inclusive.

My mom has been here for 3 years, the quality of care, food and the living conditions have continued to decline. The building has terrible odors, all carpets should be removed from both floors. The staffing is low you can be waiting for an hour for assistance. The food is terrible. The state needs to assess this facility

Don't bring your family members here if you want atleast for your family member to eat! Some of the management are very rude! They are very poorly staffed when it comes to aides especially, every other week someone quits because of the unprofessional environment and the amount of work the nurses and aides are required to do from what the employees have expressed. My family member has fell multiple times since they've been here. They have bugs and roaches as well and it causes everyone to complain. If I could give them a negative 2 stars I would. I tried to speak w/ Alan for a week straight but he takes vacation all the time so nothing yet! Management get your crap together!

Cottonwood Creek was the place that we selected for mom. From all the places we’ve visited, this was the one she liked the best. This place was efficiently laid out. The rooms were down a hallway that come to a center hub where the lunchroom is. The rooms were big, and they have a two-room apartment available; that was she wanted. The people were also nice. This was the place she felt most comfortable with. She is very happy with her stay at the place.

I placed my father at The Gardens of Richardson, my father almost bled to death, and they were very negligent. The staff was not accommodating, they left my dad bleeding for 4 days, and he had to go to surgery. I wouldn’t send my dog there.

This place is a dump. My mother was placed here by the trustee of her estate. When I visited from CA for a week, I never saw a nurse or a doctor. I stood at the filthy dirty nurse's station for over 30 minutes waiting for a nurse to no avail. The residents who were around the nursing station in their wheelchairs told me that this was normal. They were around the nursing station because no one had taken them back to their room after their meal in the dining room. My mother was in a wing that had maybe had residents in 5 rooms. One day, I turned all the lights on in each room that did not have a resident. You could hear the bell going off at the nursing station. Then finally someone just disconnected the bell, but the red lights were still lit above the room. Unless you go every day to visit, your loved one will never receive the care they are humanely entitle to. My mother eventually succumbed to blood poison because of a bed sore never attended to. The bed sore was black by the time the trustee learned of it.

Do not use this facility for your loved one. They have already changed their name. My mother died from blood poison of a bedsore because their care was inadequate. She was eventually transferred to another facility because of this. As a witness, when the bell was rung for someone to lift her into a wheelchair to go the bathroom, the wait could be 30 minutes or never. I would have to search for an attendant to assist. When I would walk down the hall and someone from a room saw me, they would yell for me to help them. Each day I came to visit my mother, I had to search for her laundry and clothes, because they never returned the laundry to the correct room. One day, my mother did not have any clothes, because they had been given to other residents. I could go on and on about the care my mother did not receive. And, I might add, it was the management who must take most of the blame. I did not have power of attorney to move my mother to another nursing home. So, please do not place your loved one in this place.

We chose The Gardens of Richardson for my in-laws. It felt very warm and comfortable when I went in. The marketing people took all the time and answered every question and gave me a very thorough tour including the dining room. We walked through the gardens. We walked and talked about the apartments that I went into. She spent extensive time explaining a lot of things and the apartment were extremely clean and neat. It has been remodeled at some point and the colors were comfortable colors. They were new and it was just a very nice, comfortable, and homey atmosphere. I felt she would be comfortable there.

The Gardens of Richardson is a loving, caring place to be. They have assisted care and nursing home care. The CNAs are wonderful, the chefs keep the menu steady and tasty! They have "Happy Hour" every Friday at 3:00 pm with musical artists - often sing-a-longs. The atmosphere is great and everyone is completely understalning and helpful!

My 92 yr-old mother has been a resident of this facility for over 3 years. She spent one year on the Assisted Living floor and then, as her dementia progressed and her $$ diminished, with the support and assistance of The Gardens staff, we moved her upstairs to the nursing home as a medicaid patient. Mother is fortunate in that she has three children who share in her care and between us, someone checks in on her daily. Our experience at The Gardens has been as good as can be expected at a nursing home in this price range. The administrative staff and activities staff are concerned and caring and all have worked with us wonderfully during mother's residency here. Her status as a medicaid patient has made no difference in the quality of her care or her room. The Certified Nursing Aides staffing suffers from the usual nursing home turnover - sometimes more stable than at other times. Generally, they provide sufficient care and some are more caring and attentive than others. From what we have learned from other caregivers whose family member has stayed in other facilities, this is a common problem at most of them. All in all, we are quite pleased with The Gardens of Richardson and consider ourselves quite lucky to have found it for Mother in the very beginning of her illness and she has been able to remain in a stable environment as she has continued to dissolve into the more severe level of dementia.

With all the communities here on Arapaho Road in West Richardson...many have choices. However, The Gardens is the only Skilled Nursing community that can transition your family member up to The Arbors [our memory care neighborhood].

The Gardens of Richardson is a stalwart assisted living and nursing home facility. They have recently opened a memory unit. The turnover rate among caregivers is very low compared to other facilities. The caregivers are a special, loving group of men and women who have the residents' best interests and comfort at heart. My mother was on the assisted living floor for nearly 2 years before she had to be moved upstairs to the nursing home floor. The upstairs caregivers were always aware of her needs and interests. This included getting her "boyfriend" from downstairs up to see her daily. The Gardens has many activities for the residents' health and amusement -- exercise, movies, church services, pet visits, games, and even "happy hour" on Fridays with snacks and live music. My husband has dementia. He was only 62 when he was diagnosed, but it has progress tremendously over the last two years. The only place I would consider placing him is at the Gardens of Richardson. Hopefully, though, that will be a long time away. I am so confident of the care that he would receive, that I would have trouble considering anywhere else.

Both of my parents are at The Gardens of Richardson. They are both happy and I sleep better knowing that they are loved and well cared for. I highly recommend the Gardens for anyone looking in the Richardson area!
