Autumn Grove Pearland has been taking care of my mom since last October. I am so happy that I have them to help care for my mom. The staff is welcoming and a true family. The level of care they provide is beyond what I expected. We work together with the facility to make sure she has the best care. Bisi and her staff are now part of my family!

About AutumnGrove Cottage - Pearland, TX - CLOSED in Pearland, Texas
AutumnGrove Cottage™ is a sixteen resident, private-pay, assisted living home specializing in care for senior adults with Alzheimers disease and other dementia-related illnesses. To use an analogy, AutumnGrove Cottage™ is to the assisted living industry what a bed and breakfast is to the hotel industry. It is smaller, homelike in design and appearance, and personal. With only sixteen residents, the staff and families get to know each other in a very personal and intimate way.
We honor our families and proactively communicate and support them through this difficult time. We help families understand the importance of home care and hospice services allowing residents to live at AutumnGrove Cottage™ through end of life.
Our Difference: We honor the resident for the person that they are today, as well as who they were yesterday. We respect their dignity, optimize their individuality and focus on their remaining strengths and abilities. Everything we do centers around Alzheimers and memory care, from our building design, staffing requirements, to our training and education programs.
There are many aspects that make AutumnGrove Cottage™ a unique concept, but the two most important differences are design and focus.
Design From the moment you drive into the driveway, our cottage looks and feels like someones private home. This is one of the cornerstones in the AutumnGrove Cottage™ belief that people should be able to age in the same manner they are accustomed to living.
Focus Alzheimers and memory care is not something we do its ALL we do. Our caregivers are universal workers. They are responsible for every need of the resident throughout their day including grooming, bathing, activities, preparing and assisting with meals. Our caregivers get to know the residents preferences and provide more personalized care. Our staff-to-resident ratio is over two times higher than most traditional assisted living facilities.

Our Mother lived at Autumn Grove Pearland for the last 3 months of her life. We did an extensive search prior to Autumn Grove, and it was in a league of its own. The facility is lovely, the staff attentive, kind and caring. Our Mother was very happy there, loved the staff and we knew she was in the best of hands. After a stroke, Mom was on hospice at Autumn Grove. Bisi, the manager, and her staff were like family. Mom has 8 children and 4 grandchildren and all were vigilant at her bedside. We were underfoot, but Bisi and staff supported us in our grieving. Hospice nurses related that Autumn Grove Pearland represented the top 1% of nursing homes they visited. Our large family was able to gather comfortably on their beautiful veranda. We were sad to say goodbye to Bisi and staff and wish that all nursing facilities could mirror the quality and caring shown to residents and their families at Autumn Grove Pearland.

Autumn Grove is the one we did not like. They weren’t ready for us, and the lady who was there kept passing to call someone for every question we had. She just was very unprofessional. They have it fenced in, but it was bars that the residents can go out and look around and see what was going on. They can also see the keypad. Some of the residents do have moments of lucidity, and we have come to find out that they can memorize those numbers. My brother had been to this place with his in-laws, and he said that they finally had to put something over the keypads because one of the residents in her moment of lucidity had memorized it, and she would get out. He went with us, and we all checked these homes out for definite things to look for; that was one of the major things. Any of these residents in a moment of lucidity could memorize those numbers, and it was a busy street. On the website, it looks fantastic, and when you get over there it’s just like it says -- it is a cottage; it is a house with rooms.

AutumnGrove’s administrator was very helpful. It was evening, and we saw the seniors and the staff watching television after dinner and lounging out before going to bed. The staff was very caring and supportive. The environment was very peaceful, homey, and serene.

AutumnGrove Cottage was like a house. It is right next to a big lake, which is nice, so you can go out on the porch and look at the lake. It was a house with, I think, 16 residents. The rooms were beautiful and all private. The staff was very nice. The facility was very clean. However, it was more expensive than what we wanted to pay. It was also farther away than I wanted to go.

The care is very well, and everybody's great. I think AutumnGrove is a great facility. It’s small; it only has fifteen beds, which is great, and the patients get a lot of very specialized care. My father liked the food; it’s better than the two other places that he's been at. I don’t know if there's a lot of involvement with the other patients, but they’re very involved with him, and he kind of developed a bond with the caregivers there.

My mother has received excellent care at Autumn Grove. The manager and all the caregivers treat her like family and are truly loving and caring. When she has a problem it is handled quickly and I am informed. She seems very happy and loved. I really like the fact that everyone is in the living room all day participating as much as they can.

My mom has been a resident of Autumn Grove cottage since December . It has a small elegant, homelike setting with a lovely view of the one of the lakes at Silverlake . The staff is exceptionally kind and caring and devoted . They have been absolutely wonderful to my mom and our family. We feel very blessed to have found a setting in which she is comfortable and is small enough where she gets personal care and attention . The beautiful living room and excellent cooks help contribute to a family like atmosphere. Each person has a private room and their own personal space but a very nice size living and activity room for meals . It feels like a home and the manager Paula is outstanding as are other staff members including the hospice company we use through them --AMED,

My mother has been in the Autumn Grove Pearland Facility since last December 2012. She has received outstanding care and attention in a peaceful and very loving environment. The managers and staff work very hard to make each resident comfortable and go to extraordinary efforts to maintain a clean and healthful environment. My mother is right where she needs to be at this point in her life. I speak for all six of my mother's children, numerous spouses, and grandchildren.

I feel so blessed that our family found Autumn Grove at a time when we needed round the clock care for our Daddy. When Daddy's Alzheimer had progressed to the point where he needed continuous care, our family had to make a decision that was very difficult for all of us. We wanted to take care of him ourselves but knew that due to the type of care he required it would be very difficult for us to provide. The first time I walked in Autumn Grove's doors, I felt extremely comfortable that this was a loving home that would provide Daddy with the care he needed. Autumn Grove provided a warm and loving environment not only to the residents which lived there but also to their families who put their full trust in them; knowing they are going to take very good care of their loved one. I cannot say enough words to THANK Autumn Grove and their staff for the care and love they gave to Daddy and his family. I would very much recommend Autumn Grove in Pearland to anyone who is looking for a warm and loving home to take care of their loved one. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Autumn Grove for caring for Daddy and giving his family the peace of mind they needed; knowing he was being very well cared for and loved by your staff.

Our Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers when he was 78 and it finally progressed to a stage that prevented our Mom from continuing as his sole caretaker. We explored the options available to us for full-time caretakers. That included in-home services as well as stand-alone facilities. What a blessing for our family that we found Autumn Grove. Dad lived there for a couple of years until the disease finally took him from us this past July. He was 86. I could not be more pleased with the love and attention given to him by everyone at Autumn Grove during that time. They became a part of our family. Whenever I would visit Dad, I felt like I was in his home. The ratio of staff-to-residents and the maximum number of residents (fewer than 20) at Autumn Grove are excellent. I would highly recommend Autumn Grove to any family in need of care for a loved one with Alzheimers disease.

Autumn Grove has the atmosphere like an extended family. They take care of your loved one like they are truly their grandparent, great aunt/uncle - a real extension of your family. I would recommend and do to anyone looking for a close knit Alzheimer's care facility.

This is a small assisted living facility. When I first walked in I was told to wait and be seated by courteous staff. There is a Nurse at the Facility but she is not on site with the facilities. She is a LVN working under a RN's license which is common for assisted living facilities. I was given a tour and everything is very colorful. Bright colors make the small space warm and comforting. The caregivers were mingling with the residents. Overall I am please to have visited, even though my father does not qualify to be in their care.
