My mom is now at Biltmore Assisted Living. I like that they take good care of her. The least thing I like about them is that they do not brush my mom's teeth. I have to go and brush her teeth. Also, it is very difficult for me to get a receipt when I pay them. The staff members are very friendly and very caring. I do not taste her food, but it looks acceptable. Everything is very clean. And if residents spill food, it is cleaned right away. And the rooms are very nice. It's a friendly, quiet environment.

I went to Biltmore Assisted Living. I like the overall cleanliness of the place. It was very well-kept. The staff was very nice and very informative. They had a salon for the patients. And they had a patio. The only thing is that the outside patio didn't have any trees. It was not shady. I was told that as far as transportation services, they didn't have any. I would have to pick up my wife and take her to her doctor's appointment. They said that they had a couple of doctors who would go there. But my wife has been seeing a physician for many years and we feel comfortable with him instead of seeing somebody new.

Biltmore Assisted Living is an old building. The staff was wonderful, fun, and informative. I told them right off that there's not enough garden. The outside is not where you would sit. There are no trees and everything. They have a canopy up. The one-bedrooms were smaller and you shared a bathroom with your neighbor on the other side, which I have seen some nursing homes that do. It's one bedroom and then you share the bathroom area with the neighbor on the other side. They have a door that goes in from their side and then the other door goes in from your side. The rooms are smaller, not as much storage, but I still like it. They've maintained it beautifully. It was very well taken care of. The only downside would be the outside.

We toured Biltmore Assisted Living. The accommodations were great. They gave us a thorough tour. It was a very cozy site. You could tell it was a little bit on the older side compared to the other place. It was probably a little more affordable because they tend to have more semi-private rooms there. I wanted a private room. They had the same access to a doctor and a nurse practitioner. They had access to recreational visitors that come in, and they work with them whether it is music, some kind of painting activity, or things like that. One of the semi-private rooms they showed me was very cozy and very nice, but I noticed they did a patch job on one of the walls. I think it still needed a coat paint. Overall, it was good. It was a very cozy place.

My aunt Maria was recently placed at the Biltmore Assisted living facility in McAllen, Texas. I am sure that she will be fine there. I visited her this past weekend and couldn't help but notice how professional and courteous the staff was. This is also the first facility that I visit that actually doesn't smell like a hospital...which is a BIG plus for me. The outside of this building is very picturesque with its white cobblestone design which sort of reminds me of a castle in England. The rooms are spacious and clean, equipped with the latest modern equipment such as LCD television and a surround sound system that plays a variety of nature sound so that the residents can feel comfortable. In closing, I would like to say that I hope I am never in one of these places but, If I do have to go to one, I hope its like Biltmore.
