When I first walked into Regent Care Center of Kingwood, it seemed very pleasant and very clean. I never smelled anything. I liked the fact that the front door was locked and that they wouldn't just let anybody in. The property was very well-maintained, and the people were very friendly. They had a common dining area that looked nice, a game room, some places where people could go and lounge around, a therapy area, and an area for you to get your hair and nails done. I talked to the assistant head of nursing, the marketing coordinator, and the administrator. All three of them did a very good job.

We have been satisfied with the service that Regent Care Center of Kingwood has given. We can't say much about the food according to my wife. They're currently on lockdown so I've only been to the waiting room or reception area. The place looks like it's well-kept, the staff is friendly, and seems to know their job. She's under insurance right now, so there's no out-of-pocket expenses for us yet. She tells me that the food is not that great.

Do not leave your loved ones in this place. They do not get back with you when you send emails with issues. I was the caregiver for a friend's mother and she had to go to Regent for rehab after having been in the hospital. Then we had COVID 19 lock down and we were not able to visit. They lost her glasses and hearing aid months ago so this poor woman can't see and can't hear well and they didn't even bother to tell the family they were lost. In my opinion that is elderly abuse - to just let her be blind and deaf for months. She hated the food and right before we were COlVID 19 locked out I found the clean clothes in her closet covered in ants!

I put my mother at Regent Care of Kingwood after a hospital stay for rehab. We had been here before and is was just ok but unfortunately it is the best facility in the area which is not saying much. The food was bad, the staff really didn’t care and rehab was the worst and that’s why she was there. She was there for over a month and was declining. I had to get her out. I hope to never have to send her to a skilled nursing again, it’s really sad that they are all so poor.

We picked Regent Care Center of Kingwood for my mom, and we were not impressed. They didn't make my mom do the rehab. She said no, and they didn't push her and didn't say, "No, you're getting out of bed and doing this." My daughter and I had to be there every day to make sure that they made her do it. We got her out of there in 20 days. We brought food in because the food was pretty bland, and my mom was really unhappy with it. If my mom said she didn't feel like getting a bath right now, she didn't get one for two more days, so me and my daughter bathed her, and for as much as it costs, that should never happen. I don’t know if there was an RN, and we never saw an MD there. We called several times to adjust medicine and waited days because we couldn't get a hold of a doctor. We saw turnover and didn't have a good experience.

Regent Care Center of Kingwood seemed like it was nice and clean. I have heard some employees talking about how they're always short-staffed, so that didn't work out for me. I didn't see a lot of nurses, just aides. The staff I spoke to answered all my questions and went through everything with me.

This place nearly killed my mother! I had the administrator and the marketing manager come to my mother's bedside in the hospital preaching about the wonderful care my mother would receive. Knowing we could not care for her alone at home with a broken leg we knew she needed short-term rehab. They assured me their main goal is to get her strong enough to get her back home HA! She would push her button to be changed no one would come for hours and when they did they usually had an attitude like she was wasting their time. The entire staff on the weekends is a joke. I'm pretty sure they just pull them off the street with no experience. The food is a whole other story....... My best comparison is the slop you see served to prisoners in movies. My mother's medications were never right if they were given to her at all. The anxiety my mother experienced because of the horrible care along with not receiving her COPD medication sent her to the emergency room in respiratory failure! Knowing she would not be going back to that horrible place we went and picked up her belongings. 6 days later and not one person has even called to check on her.... what does that tell you????

My wife was at Regent Care Center of Kingwood. The first thing I noticed was that it was a very clean place. The staff was knowledgeable and caring. They treated my wife like family. There was family atmosphere there. They were also diligent in their efforts toward rehab. My wife progressed ahead of anybody’s schedule. She did well there. The people were just great. The only drawback could be the quality of the food. Well, there were occasions when they had people performing, i.e., singers, and they had church services. They had bingo and some other activities.

My family member was there for a while. In 2011 the staff was great, the care was pretty good for a facility. There was seldom a smell. However, starting in last 2014 the place went downhill. The administration got terrible, Noone really cared anymore. Horrible turnover of staff. The rehab department was phenomenonal, always willing to help and gping over and beyond. I took my family member out of the facility in late 2015 because it was turning into a terrible place. The administrator really only cares about money, and this is reflected in the staffing. I was really sad, however my family member was not getting their basic needs met, regardless of multiple meetings I had with the DON and staff members.

I did look at Regent Care Center of Kingwood. From what I saw, they have a very good rehab facility. The reason why we didn’t chose this place was because they only provide skilled nursing and we wanted mom to be in a facility which has skilled nursing and a memory care unit for easy transition.

I would not refer this place to anyone who has special needs. They let their leave their patients in urine soaked diapers, and they are always short handed. They also don't pay attention to their patients when they try to get up from their chairs they just look and seem not to care if their patient falls.
