We visited North Houston Transitional Care. My friend used to live there and it was nice. There's not a whole lot of rooms available. It's not a big place which is a good thing too since you can get around easier. The thing he liked most about it is because he knew people there and they remembered him and knew who he was. They had a spokesperson for Cinco de Mayo, and they had a taco truck out in the drive-through area and all the residents were going out there and getting food. It was decorated nicely. It was small but that's good, and it was really clean, nice, and everybody was friendly. They also had a gym that he's familiar with. I think it's a good value for money.

My mom was at North Houston Transitional Care. They had good CNAs and therapists, and the physical appearance of the place was clean, but their nurses were trash. One day, her speech therapist went there and told the nurse that she needed to check her, and said that something was not right, but the nurse totally disregarded it. That's where I truly pissed myself off when I found that out, and it's in the speech therapist notes. They need to train their nurses to have relationships with their residents. You can't care for somebody if you don't know that person. My mom also hated their food. She didn't eat it, so I had to take her food there every day. She had a private room though, and that was a plus, and it was spacious, however, they were using Roku, which was a little difficult to get through.
