I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The location of Wesley House was one reason we chose it for my mom. The cost was another thing. Memory care is a very small unit, and I feel like my mom would get individual treatment in a smaller unit. I think the staff is all great. I've met all the nurses and most of the nurse's aides. They're very sweet, very caring, and very kind. I'm very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. It is neat, clean, and up-to-date. I haven't seen anything that I didn't like. My mom is 95 years old and has been a little stubborn. She has not participated in many activities. But the family and some of the staff have gotten my mom to participate in some by encouraging her and being insistent. Even though we can't get my mom to join in all the time, they have some great stuff going on. I'm impressed with this place. They haven't done anything to make me think any less of them from the very first time I entered their doors. They're a good facility.

We are very happy with Wesley House. My mother just moved in yesterday afternoon, and she has already met a lot of people. We love the people who are working there. They are very, very friendly. They came over and introduced themselves to her, and they were great. Her room is just perfect for what she needs. It is like an efficiency room, where her bed and her furniture are all in one room. She's got a little kitchenette, a big bathroom, and a big closet too. We saw that they have a library and some exercises there. It's just that last night, my mother had a pizza for supper.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was here for almost two months. It turned out to be the worst two months of her life. The room looked nice, the people acted nicely over the phone. The care for dementia/Alzheimer’s was completely inadequate. My mother left with the technical term “pressure ulcer”, bedsore was my description. She was put in a recliner for no telling how long every day, that she could not get herself out of. She could not walk, there was a wheelchair on the opposite side of the room. We were told she was doing well, walking, going to the dining area by herself. My mother was walking and talking when she arrived at Wesley Oaks, she never walked after we took her out, she barely talked. This was reported to the state, who interviewed the people caring for my mom. Brilliant, interview the people neglecting the patient. The state said because we took my mom out, although they had pictures of the neglect, they could not prove it was my mom. My mom went to a good home after this and got excellent care. If you choose Wesley Oaks make sure you check in on your loved one daily. Maybe independent people would fair well.

I visited this facility

Everything about Wesley Oaks is a 5: the building, facility, the staff, everybody. It's a beautiful, well-run place. The day that I showed up, they were having a cowboy day. They had a beautiful common area. Their rooms were decent and a good size with their own bathrooms. The staff were all over the place and not sitting around. I was shown the place by the director, who was very personal.

Wesley House is a very nice place. My mom has been there for a little over a year. The staff is excellent and take very good care of her. They just don’t have the activities that she was used to when she was in Henderson. She can still do activities, but they just don’t have as many available. They have a big, nice dining room and a library, and they do the laundry for the residents. Mom’s room has kitchenette, a big closet, and a nice bathroom.
