My father-in-law was at Brookdale Georgetown. We were there basically daily to visit him, so we understood very well the operations of the facility and so forth. We had very much first-hand knowledge of how the facility was run and so forth. In general, it was a positive experience. It was a good facility. When it comes to the management, you can always find little things that you think they could've done better. Probably the only thing, and this is true of any one of these types of facilities, is when a resident expresses a need for assistance of some type, because they have limited staff, the challenge is getting a response in a short period of time. I think it's a common challenge that all of these facilities have, because they have more people who have request for assistance than they can get to. My expectation was that you pull a cord or identify a need for assistance, and within 30 seconds somebody's there, but that's not how it works. It might be five or ten minutes before they get there because they're busy helping somebody else. They're not the absolute best, but they were on par. They were a solid, positive experience. The staff was really good. The food, there's always room for improvement, but it was good food. It was a good value at that facility.

We liked the Brookdale Georgetown. The staff was really great. It was a small environment, and they were very nice. It was just smaller than most of facilities that we've seen. It was a nice place; it just wasn't a fit right in for us. They had outdoor seating.

Brookdale Georgetown has a caring staff. The residents seem to be in need of a lot of care there. I would give them the rating based on the type of residents that they had. They were very caring and very interested in accommodating my mother. The facility is much older than the other places I toured. They had a courtyard, a sitting area, activities, and a salon. It was clean, but older.

I really liked Brookdale Georgetown. I liked that one the best. They have everything my mother-in-law would need. It's small and it's very homey, that's what I liked the best about it. It wasn't too big or too overwhelming and all that. The staff who accommodated me was very nice. They were very helpful. The rooms were very nice. They repaint and put in new carpet. They were nice rooms. They were private rooms. The dining area is a smaller area, but it's very comfortable and clean. If my mother-in-law ever goes to one, I hope she goes to that one. The place is very clean, inside and out. The yard was well kept also. I don't have any complaints about it. We got to talk with the nurse; she was very helpful. The little Ashley, who was in charge, she was very sweet and very helpful. I think it's a great place. They have a salon. We met the hairdresser. There's a little sitting area outside where they gather and visit when it's nice. They have a little library, they have puzzles for the tenants, and I'm sure they have game nights.

I thought the staff was very good at Brookdale Georgetown. I liked the fact that they stayed with their patients, with their guests. If I'm out of town and my friend got sick, and had to go into the hospital, one of the staff members will go over and check on him, get him situated, and check on him every day and then bring him back to the facility. That's great, so you really are worry free if you need to be out of town and can't be there with them. So, I thought that was very nice there. Their food looked OK, and their facility looked pretty good. The young lady was wonderful. The interaction seemed pretty good. We just saw a couple of people in the little sun rooms, and I think they were pretty happy. I think it's just, you know, it's like going to the Ritz-Carlton and then coming over to the Holiday Inn. That's kind of what it was like, and there's nothing wrong with the Holiday Inn at all, but I think Brookdale has a little bit of work they could do. They had different floor plans. I think everyone could find something they would probably like, it just didn't have the attractiveness that the other place did, but I think they were fine. The floor plans would work.

My aunt has been in Brookdale Georgetown for about a year and a half now. It's a small facility and it's set up like in a rectangle. That was one of the reasons we liked it because it gave her a place that she could walk easily to the dining area and living room area and then walk back around to her room. If she got lost, she could still easily find her room because it's just like one big rectangle. It would give her a place that she could walk inside. They have a small courtyard and her room overlooks the courtyard, so she has a window there. All rooms either look outside or look inside, and they have individual air-conditioning. They're supposed to clean her room once a week, but they may come in and take the trash out more often. They do cleaning and do their laundry individually once a week. She would go down to the dining room. Her legs give out on her and she's had a couple of incidences where it took them a long time to find her because she could not get to the call pull thing. There's one on her bed and one in the toilet. Even though she had a small room where she could have things to hold on to, to get from one point to the other, her legs just give out. We've had a couple of incidences where it took them a long time to check on her. She had one time when she collapsed at night getting out of her bed to go to the restroom and nobody knew she was down there on the floor. After that, they started checking on her every two hours supposedly. She's also had a few things that I had delivered to the front, that didn't make it to her room. I feel like when it comes to the communication between the doctor and the nurse, there's a big gap there because some of the things the doctor might say that my aunt needs, I don't think the nurse is taking care of that. Otherwise, she says that she likes the staff OK. I just don't feel like she's getting the attention that she needs. I did not visit my aunt at all during the Covid time. I visit her at the window now. They allow visitation at the window and 29 is a very busy road. You had to compete with the noise from the road because the only place that she could go is the window in the dining area. They strictly follow the guidelines from the CDC and the State. Now, you have to have a Covid test or proof of vaccination and you have to wear a face mask.

Brookdale Georgetown was predominantly assisted living. The staff was OK. The building was small, old, and was showing its age. The room was very unimpressive. It was too small and dark, and one of the windows was kind of fogged up. There was no one around, and to me, that seemed independent, although they said that some independent people come there, and then they're there already if they need assisted living. It didn't fit me personally. I understand that a lot of things are closed because of the COVID, but the staff showed me some. It just wasn't for me. I saw the dining area. The building was aged a lot, so a lot of things were not new, and a lot of people that were there were assisted living. At this time in my life, I'm up and around, and I need a place where other people are up and around. The reason for me moving is to be with other people my age and be active. They told me that they serve meals in the rooms. They had just a little kitchenette and that was not for me. I still like to cook and have a kitchen. I like something a little more modern, open, and bright. It wasn't my taste, but I liked the garden.

Brookdale Georgetown was nice. The person that showed me around was nice. It's older than some of the other places that I looked at, but it was clean. They showed me one apartment, and it was adequate, but nothing too flashy.

I was not pleased with the atmosphere at Brookdale Georgetown. The dining room was quiet and filled with people, but they were a bit unkempt and wandering around the room. One was partially blind or deaf, and he was trying to get out from there with little attention from any attendees. It was way out in the country, isolated, and not at all a friendly home-like atmosphere or located where you could get to shopping and you weren't in a neighborhood.

My stepmother is at Brookdale Georgetown. I love the fact that the people there are very nice and very helpful anytime I have a question. They take very good care of her. I like that they have regular doctors that come in to check the residents out. They have lots of activities. I just really like it, and it is a locked facility. She is in a very nice room with a large closet and large bathroom. She has a bedroom and a small living room. There is a sun room that she can go to, and it is secure and between the walls. They have an exercise room and a computer room. There is a lady who comes in and does their hair. The staff is wonderful. They are very good. I am very pleased with them. They are very helpful and very attentive. The only thing that I am worried about is the fact that residents do not have the alert devices to wear around their necks. I am kind of hoping that that will change. They do have pulls on the walls, but I got her a medical alert just in case because she is a faller. They check on her so often that even when she falls, they are right there with her, and she does not even have to use the medical alert.

We visited Sterling House in Georgetown (Brookdale Georgetown), and it seemed fine. We just liked the community down in Round Rock the best. The staff was very helpful. There is nothing bad to say; they were fine. We ate lunch there, and it was good; the lunch was fine.

My visit at Sterling House for my husband was very good. As soon as I walked in, I like the people and the facility. It was bright with big windows and well-lit 8-foot hallways. There were games going on that everyone is participating in. I have checked out the dining room, and it was very well done. I ate there and the food was good. The one issue I have with them is they seemed to be going through a pretty large personnel change, and that has been disruptive to my husband. He can't get acquainted with the personnel before someone leaves. I do think that their dining room tends to be understaffed.

Sterling House of Georgetown was clean and well cared for. The environment seemed to be a little sterile. The staff's work ethics were very competent and very good.

Well, the things that made me decide on Sterling House were -- first of all it, was small. I was afraid my aunt would maybe get lost in a bigger facility, and they did have the courtyard where she likes taking walks, and she likes gardening. There was a place for the residents to garden. Also, one of the deciding factors was that the doors were locked 24 hours a day, and people had to register to get in. The staff was absolutely wonderful. We went two or three times. They gave us a tour. They were just very friendly and informative and felt like very caring people. I think a lot of the staff had been there for quite a while, and that was important to me also. Another deciding factor for Sterling House of Georgetown was that it would be very easy for my elderly mother to drive and get to that one.

Sterling House of Georgetown is outstanding. The meals are really very good, well-prepared and good variety. They clean the rooms every day and do their laundry once a week, which is good. They've accommodated everything we needed when we moved my mother-in-law in. They have in-house physical therapy and she's taking advantage of that. It has worked out very well and we really don't have any complaints about them at all. The staff is wonderful. They are very cordial and very sweet. They are just really nice to her and they will do anything they can to make her stay. They have a handyman on site that comes and helps her if she has any issues. They have three room sizes, and she's in the middle one. It's got a very nice, very large walk-in bathtub or bath shower and she can wheel her wheelchair into that for whatever she needs to do. There are activities going on all the time. They have exercise every morning at 10, they feed them at 8, 12 and 5, and they always have something in the afternoon. They have a little lounge area, in fact they have three different ones that people can go to and sit and play cards with each other if they want to. They have a nice sun room that they can enjoy and a good atrium area that is accessible to all the residents.

This is a facility that my grandmother wanted to try, and it actually turned out pretty good. This facility has a lot to offer, and along with it being pretty to look at, it has many amenities to offer as well. There are also options for people that need physical rehab, or other forms of therapy. This is useful to older people who have lost their ability to be mobile. They can help them get back on their feet, so that they can be on their own effectively. This is a facility that provides rides to places, and achieve personal goals. They can help you to reach your personal goals in a timely manner so that the people can be successful. This is a facility that wants to be close to their tenants, and they try hard to give the facility a family type of feel, the best they can. There are many things that this facility has to offer, including nursing services, and support with taking medication.

A fairly small community with 24 beds, but with a cozy and warm atmosphere. Staff very out reaching, polite and helpful possessing a high degree of competency. The building is about 20 years old. It is situated off the main boulevard in the town. Rooms are neither large nor small, but rather average. There are multiple residents living in a spousal situation. The services and amenities are great. A very active activities director keeps the residents well occupied and in a satiated mood. All meals are generally well portioned and of the highest quality. Ample time is allowed to finish meals. The one issue of concern is a continual shortage of staff. The facility is currently owned by the nation-wide BSL, so profit is definitely a chief concern for the owners. Also the rate increase in rent can be stacked in the negative column. Otherwise the atmosphere between staff, residents and relatives remain harmonious and friendly.
