My friend is in Mayberry Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care Homes. They're a top-notch place, but my friend is just not happy there, and it doesn't have to do with Mayberry Gardens. However, I highly recommend Mayberry Gardens to anybody else looking for a place because they are wonderful. So it is not the place, it is my friend. They have individual houses, and each house has maybe 12 rooms. They have their own kitchen and staff, and their food is home-cooked, hot, and fresh every day. They look after the people. They're affordable. The staff is wonderful. They try to work with my friend. The food there is excellent. The place is excellent. It is clean. The staff is wonderful. They have programs of activities. They have an activity center there, it is just my friend is a loner, so he doesn't participate in any of that. But the place itself has a lot for other people. The rooms are a little bit smaller, but they're private rooms. They're nice and quaint. They have their own bathroom, but they don't have a shower in there. They still have a shower facility. The staff is wonderful. They try to do their best and take care of the places. They have been very nice. They try to put up with my friend. He's just not happy wherever he is.

We like the concept of Mayberry Gardens having multiple smaller buildings with fewer residents in each building. It's almost like little clusters of care centers that specialize in different needs. Each unit has different needs. There could be two or three units that have the same needs, but it's just a lot smaller and it seems like there's more attention on the ratios. Mom will move to their assisted living side with a little bit more assistance, but not quite memory care yet. After the assessment, they've decided that mom doesn't need full memory care yet and that was another thing we liked about them. They made it very personal and they didn't just classify her as memory care right off the bat. If she requires it, they can upgrade her to that level of assistance. Again, everything is smaller. The main areas are just smaller. Every one of these clusters has its own kitchen with people that prepare the meals and everything for just a smaller group. The amenities are not the quality kind with the leather chairs or the big giant TVs and the big workout rooms that we've seen in the other places, but for our particular need (because my mom can't see very well and most of those amenities would be wasted on her anyway), we like this place. It's more about the care and less about the nice furnishings and things like that. Everything seemed very clean. They give a lot of attention to those points. We went during two different meal times and the food smelled delicious, but we haven't tried anything. The staff has been very helpful.

I went to look at Mayberry Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care Homes. The place was nice. It's not made for senior couples. It was not what I was looking for. This one was all one bedroom, so my parents are going to be on top of each other in a relatively small space. If they have a single mother or a single father going there, it would be adequate. It would be a good place. The staff was great.

The area where Mayberry Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care Homes were at seemed very nice. Mom would be staying in the memory care. It's a house that has different rooms. I think there's up to 12 or 16 residents there. It is like a big house with a living room and a kitchen, and then the bathroom is in the center. So, it's not like she would have her own bathroom, she would have to share, and the room seemed small, so I just couldn't picture my mom being there, but everybody seemed nice. The only thing that they showed me was like the living room area, and they have a TV, and they said they have popcorn for the residents and movie nights, but that was about all of the activities that they offered. There was not really a whole lot of stuff.

My brother-in-law was in a memory care facility in Garland called Mayberry Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care Homes. It was an excellent facility. It was a five all the way around, from the staff to the grounds to the food. He just had difficulty trying to escape too much, so he had to leave the facility. It was a shame that he couldn't stay there, but he became disruptive. The facility itself and the staff, the attendants, and everyone were all very good and very highly rated. His room was excellent. It was a single bedroom. The grounds were a five, the room was a five, the food was a five, and the attendants were a five. They offered activities. They had games and then quizzes to kind of test and help their thinking and their ability to process some little puzzles and so forth. Those were the kinds they were getting him involved in.

My dad is now living in Mayberry Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care Homes. I think the place is very good. They do a wonderful job of taking care of my dad and keeping him safe, and they also make sure he has hot meals every day. So that's very nice. The community is nice too, so we like that place. I haven't eaten there but I saw their food, they had fish that day, fruits, and ice cream afterward. So it's pretty good, it's a complete meal. They've got little gatherings, several people were sitting together in the living room area and they keep them entertained. The staff there is pretty friendly so that's pretty good. His room is well-kept and clean, it's carpeted, has air conditioning, and has a private bathroom. His room is very neat with big windows, so that's good. The value for money is excellent. We've been to a similar facility before and with a lower level of care they charged a lot more, so this place has been very good.

Mayberry Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care Homes has 11 houses and each house has 11 bedrooms and I liked it really well. I was just hoping for a room that would have shower in it, but the only things they had available were the smaller version bedroom with just the toilet and sink as part of the bathroom. I was also kind of hoping to have the little kitchenette space so Mom had a little bit more room. The shower is across the hall. I'm very impressed with the place. I really liked it. My only holdback right now is that I'm going to have to figure out what to do with a lot of furniture. She's had a king bed and we're trying to figure out how to totally downscale and then replace it to put her in a smaller bed and reduce the furniture, because everything she's got furniture-wise is massive. I like the homey feel. I like that you're not just kind of set in the bedroom. You get a feel that they're going to be more of a family, and I like that. The staff was very nice. I met the lady who was getting ready to do the cooking, I met the housekeeper, I met several of the people in the house, and they were all very, very nice. The manager that I came to talk to in the office was very nice, very informative, and very helpful.

I was very impressed with this facility. I would have put my mother there if it had been conveniently located for family visits and if dealing with her medications & injections for diabetes wasn't so complicated. Since the Covid-19 virus, those interested in elder care are looking very closely and with great interest in replicating what you have going there. A diamond in the rough!

Mayberry Gardens is great. The staff is friendly. The food looks good. The main lady is really nice. My friend is in the newer building, and it's very clean. The room is the perfect size for her. They've got lots to eat.

Mayberry Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care Homes wasn't what I expected. It looked really nice from the outside. They're all individual houses and Mom would be living there with a group of like 11 other people. Each house had a group of people, and I didn't like that. It just didn't seem like it was gonna be very pleasant, and the cost was pretty high. In the house there was an open common area, living room, dining room, a hallway, and all these rooms. There was a person who would cook their meals in the kitchen. You'd have one big bedroom to yourself, but all you'd have in there would be your bedroom stuff and your private bathroom. It just wasn't very clean when they took me in there. The staff member who gave the tour was OK. She was trying to give me helpful tips. I just wasn't impressed with the overall experience. It might be great for somebody, but it wasn't for us.

I searched for a few months to find a great place for my dad that would be within our budget. I couldn't have hoped for a better place than Mayberry Gardens. Finding it was a true Godsend. They treat my dad with great care and respect. Not like some places that ignore those they should be caring for. The entire staff is wonderful to talk to and work with. Heather McCracken, Roma Albert, India Mathews, Sozit Yusuf and Dianne Farnsworth...you guys are awesome!,Thank you for providing such good care for my dad. If you're looking for a great assisted living or memory care provider I recommend this place to anybody. You can always call Dianne and she will walk you through everything step by step.

The staff that I dealt with at Mayberry Gardens was very helpful. I actually had tried to move my father in there, but unfortunately I wasn't able to because of his condition. I realized that he needed a higher level of care than what they could offer. They don't have a nurse on staff 24 hours a day. It was larger than the other communities I visited, but the difference is that their rooms are like a home with a lot of bedrooms in it. So it was a different set up. They have an activity center, but they don't take their staff off-site, so they're a little less involved with the residents. They're just one step down from the others because of their setup, and the facilities are older.

We needed to find an assisted living facility for our father. Mayberry Gardens is close to our neighborhood. We met Dianne F, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. We heard from her one day after visiting MG, and a room suitable to his needs became available. He moved in the next day. We were able to move in some of his furniture from home, He said the food was delicious. He had help with his medication. One of his favorite things to do was sit on the front porch and puff on his pipe! He was pleased with the staff who helped him with all of his needs. Overall, he was very content and happy with his day-to-day living. It truly was a wonderful experience for him and our family. Thanks again to Dianne F for her professional assistance, and her concern for all of us. Mayberry Gardens is fortunate to have her on their staff!

I thought the facilities looked old and depressing. Very small dining area. 4 total tables that I saw and was open to the kitchen area. Not much going on and the tour was very short. Probably would not move here because the price was out of my budget and facilities not acceptable

We like that Mayberry Gardens is a small community. It's comprised of a whole bunch of little houses and they have ten residents per home. They have activities like Bingo and movie nights. They also serve three meals a day. The employees are professional, helpful when needed, and they leave my dad alone when he's grouchy. One thing they can improve on is the communication; there should be more communication between us.

I want to thank all, from the ownership, administrative and all the workers for the care, and assistance given my Mom for the 3 plus years she was at Mayberry Gardens. Most questions and issues could be answered or resolved by the personnel in her building. If they could not help, they would immediately go to their supervisors to take care of Mom's and the family's needs. What they did not offer onsite, they provided information about where to look and who to talk to . Dianne was my main contact regardless of my questions and she was always able to help us.

My mother-in-law was in Mayberry Gardens for a week and a half before we found out that she had cancer and needed greater care. They don’t have nurses on staff, but that was stated in the pricing. It was well laid out, which is one of its positive attributes. It looked good, like there was going to be some good activities, and the patient to caregiver ratio was good. It was a well-kept place.

I would only recommend Mayberry Gardens if your loved one is fairly independent and needs minimal assistance. The place is clean and neat. Staff provide meals, housekeeping, meds. They are not staffed to be able to provide higher levels of attention or care to needier residents. In fact, becoming "needier" will result in your being asked to find other accommodations. Ask questions about their staffing matrix, how many staff to residents at all hours of day and weekend. Ask about what will disqualify your loved one from living there. Ask about on site security and medical staff. Ask about staff turnover rates. This might be a good starting place for your loved one, but do not count on it for a long-term solution.

My mother made her home at Mayberry Gardens for the last 4 1/2 years of her life. With Mayberry's great care and my mother's determination, she lived just 3 months short of 98 years old. Having dementia and being a fall risk, the extra care that House #2 provided was a good fit for my mother. I always felt she was well taken care of, which gave me piece of mind. Adrian and others on staff were always willing to listen to any concerns and work with me for a solution. In visiting my mother several times each week, I felt that the Staff and caregivers were an extension of my family. With the presence of hospice, my mother was able to pass away peacefully in her room at Mayberry Gardens. I appreciate the compassion that mother and my family were given during the final years of her life at Mayberry Gardens. I will be forever grateful.

Mayberry Gardens was nice and clean. The rooms were very small. It is not somewhere I would want my parent to be. The dining area looked nice. We went over their activities, and they change daily; they have different ones. I wouldn't recommend it; it is too small.

This is a beautiful facility. Its actually more like a small neighborhood. The staff are very good with the residents and very friendly. They seem to spend a lot of time with them doing activities and just talking. I don't think the combination of price and care can be beaten anywhere in Garland or Richardson, or anywhere else in North Dallas. We have really loved Mayberry Gardens and would recommend it to anyone looking for Assisted Living or Memory Care. They do it right!

My mom has been at Mayberry gardens garland for almost two.years and the staff works very well with each of those who live in their homes as if. they were all one big family...they are always on top of things and communicate with me about my mom as needed. There is a. physician and a physical therapist that takes the weight off of me of having to take her to those appoints that makes it easier on me... thank you adrian diane all the caretaker and dr k and nurse kelly for being there and making this transition for me be seemless.....sheri

Mayberry Gardens is the perfect place for your loved one who needs assisted living. My Mother-in-law is a resident and is well taken care of. The staff is excellent. My MIL is not an easy person to care for and they are consistent in their care and attention to her. The facilities are absolutely beautiful! I have even shared a meal with Mom and it is fresh cooked every day! (I think I'll move in!) This is not a skilled nursing facility. Check with your long term care insurance to be sure Mayberry fits their requirements.

This is one of the highest quality assisted living facilities in the DFW area. My mother has been at this facility for several years and considers it her home. She is happy, has plenty to occupy her time, and in a caring environment. The facility is set up like a home environment and therefore less stressful for the resident during transition. Would highly recommend this facility to anyone.

Have visited this community numerous times. The grounds are always very pretty and the landscaping makes it feel like a beautiful community. When I walk in the homes smell good, like cookies or lunch. The caregivers are easy to find in the homes and you don't have to go too far for help. They offer a great value for what they charge compared to others in the Garland community.

I visited Mayberry Gardens and I loved the look and feel. The facility and the grounds are nice, The living spaces were better than other places I had seen. The employees seemed to really care for those staying there. The rooms were nice and everyone has their own rooms. I will probably be using the facility to house my in-laws in the future.

Mayberry Gardens is a beautiful assisted living & memory care neighborhood that provides a home like environment. We moved our mother from the home she had lived in for 50 years, in another state, to be closer to family because of her dementia. The caregivers went out of their way to make our mother feel welcomed and help her transition to her new home. Our mother has been a resident at Mayberry Gardens for 2 years and the caregivers and management have been very kind, patient and accommodating. We have peace of mind knowing she is in a safe, secure and loving environment. We visited several assisted living communities in the metroplex and can say that Mayberry Gardens is an excellent choice and value considering there are no additional level of care charges added. If you are looking for a caring and loving environment for your loved one, we recommend you visit Mayberry Gardens before you make your final decision.

My visits to Mayberry Gardens have ALWAYS been a pleasant experience. The staff is friendly, the residents look happy and there seems to be continuous activities available for those who wish to participate. They have multiple homes on their campus. I have visited in all of them. They are decorated with individual care so it really feels like a neighborhood. When the residents visit one another or come for the first time, they aren't walking into a facility but into a home. Mayberry Gardens has a very warm, home like feel. It's very unique with the single story homes on their property. I would encourage anyone to drop by for a visit. You'll be impressed.

I visited Mayberry Gardens and I didn’t like them at all. The facility and the grounds are nice, but it seemed like everyone was there for a paycheck. There was no one there that I felt genuinely cared for the residents, and it smelled of urine. As far as the facility goes, it looks nice, but the care, I didn’t see it. The rooms were nice and everyone has their own rooms. The facility can look as nice as they want, but if the care isn’t going to be comparable then it does nothing. I saw the staff yelling at the residents. I think that they just have to do a better job as far screening their employees.

Mayberry Gardens is a wonderful place, expensive but very nice. The grounds are beautiful and the buildings are clean. My wife has a 20x20 square feet room with a very comfortable bed and wide door bathroom activities. The help is very good, attentive and very loving. They prepare the meals onsite and they basically do everything that’s needed for my wife’s situation. I serve her meals personally so I can attest to the quality of the food. It’s very good and a well-balanced diet. I’m very happy with it. They could improve in the training of their staff. They’re not trained in CPR or Heimlich maneuver.
