Garland Serenity Home was very clean and updated. It was a house, which was very nicely landscaped. The place is in a quiet neighborhood that's close to the lake. The person in charge was very professional, seemed very caring, and was very compassionate toward the seniors who were there. I liked her a lot. They just seemed to have everything that one would need as far as healthcare for an older person. They don't take Medicaid of course, so it was very expensive, about $4,500 a month. It was just really open and it was designed for patients with dementia and Alzheimer's. They have a nice big common room with a TV, and a nice big dining area. It looked nice on the outside. There's also a place where the patients can actually walk around in the back. They customize your food if you need a special diet.
