I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm staying in Friendship Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. It's very nice. It's very large. The room is very nice and very good. Housekeeping comes in every day and cleans the room. The staff are very courteous and very prompt when you call. They have a physical therapy gym, a dining room, and an activities room. I haven't been in all the hallways. I think there's five hallways, and I'm in the rehab hallway, and I have a room to myself. The food is good. They've got very good menus. Very prompt delivery for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have good activities, and they have games and things. I would recommend it.

I visited this facility

Friendship Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center was a decent place. It was clean. There was the nurses' station, and they had little powwows and I thought that maybe they should be a little more patient-oriented. There were two people sitting out in the hallway unattended just in a wheelchair, and I thought that instead of standing and talking there, they could be attending to the patients. The rooms were okay and clean. They were not very large, but they were clean. The dining area was relatively small. I looked at their physical therapy area. It was a little dated but it looked fine.

For all the people who wrote bad reviews. I have dealt with ALOT of nursing homes and all of them have bad to them. It runs in cycles, I don't know why that is, but it does. You will go through a period where they all are amazing and then it goes through periods where they are very bad, and it starts all over again. They all go through a turnover where they are bad and they all go through times where the staff is all great, except for the exception of a few. Friendship Haven is very close to me and right now they are in an amazing cycle. Great staff, good food, and terrific care. You just have to keep a close eye when they all are in their downside. They are one of the better ones though. There are a few bad seeds that is only there for the paycheck but they usually don't last long. Just check on your loved ones often in ANY nursing facility and help the facility out by reporting any of the bad seeds.....

I chose Friendship Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for my dad. The location was closer to my home and the nurses are very nice. The rooms are nice. They're older, but they are nice. The staff is very accommodating. He has a large room with a single bed, TV on the wall, a large bathroom, each has a bedside table in each bed, and it's a room with two beds. The meals are just OK. They have bingo, movies, things like that. It's a big entrance with a porte cochere and flowers. The flower beds surround it. There are bushes up near where the street is, and bushes and some flowers around the facility.

This place is terrible, I would send anyone here, no communication, if you do talk with someone you get wrong information, call backs are horrible, doctor on call never called me back - food is crappy, rooms are small, my mom said the staff at night would yell at everyone, it took 4 hours to get to her one night and the explanation was there are 35 other people here. Maybe you need more staff. Even if you hate someone, don't send them here, they should be shut down.

Extremely unsafe. Majority of employees are only there for a paycheck. Non transparent. I can't even get information on my mother who has covid. I was NEVER notified of it. PLEASE don't send your loved one there.

Unsafe, uncaring, nightmare. Family member died in a hallway of covid 19. Spotty communication. Informed of death through a communication about logistics of moving body. Sad. Pathetic. Should be closed by state.

I visited this facility

I had to take my father out of that place as soon as possible. The place was stinky of bodily fluids. The food was disgusting my dad couldn't even eat it. I mean how is anybody that stays there is supposed to get their nutrients if they can't eat the food that is served to them daily? And to top it off it was served to him cold everyday he was there. And their excuse was they serve the people in the dining area first. So if you have a health problem that limits you to walk and you have to be served in your room your food will come to you cold everyday that you are there. The chair for his guest to sit on that was inside his room was stained from other peoples bodily fluids. And you look out his window and see several chairs lined up outside, this facility should have added his guest chair along with that pile. We had quests from out of town come and visit him and they got sick to their stomach literally from the smell of this place and watching the elderly people all weak and smelling of soiled clothes. Walking down the hallways with our shoes sticking to the floor. And for 3 days laying in his bed, linens were unchanged and dirty and no wound care or sponge bath done at all. And when the problem was addressed I didn't appreciate the attitude the lady was giving me trying to play head games. Once all the problems were addressed THEN... they were trying to fix the problems. But come on now these people should not be getting served disgusting food daily they need their nutrients to live. And diabetics should be served a diabetic diet that was ordered by the patients doctor to get well and heal.

I am/was a resident of this facility

They're miserable people who treated me horribly. The nurses or whatever they're supposed to be mistreated me. I wouldn't send my dog there, that's how bad that place is. I was there last year for a couple of weeks. It looks like a nursing home, they had people sitting downstairs in one area out there. They were talking and muttering to themselves, and the staff didn't do much for them at all. The nurse's assistant that serve the food just threw it in your plate, they weren't very nice. They mistreated me when they turned me over in my bed because I couldn't move. The staff was absolutely horrible. I was in a room with another woman who was very nice. They don’t care about their residents. They only have a little bit of therapy. You sit there and do some push-ups, and then they had a game in the evening that wasn't fun. The nurses were OK, but the staff was horrible. The food was average. I wouldn't rave over it.

My mom has been in this facility for over a year. I'm not impressed with anything there. The staff doesn't take care of her, she is constantly in wet Depends or wet bed sheets. My wife and I have changed her bed more than once. Her blood sugar is always out of control. We have bought her numerous pairs of socks and other clothes which disappear on a regular basis. We have since moved her to another facility which is providing much better care. I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother-in-law was in this facility for three and a half weeks. With the exception of a couple of nurses, his care was definitely less than what you would expect from any facility. There were too many patients for the nurses to take care of. His physical therapy involved putting him in a hoist and moving him from his bed to a wheelchair and back again. He was told to call when he wanted to go back to bed, but frequently he was left there until he had soiled himself. He was promised services when he left, but we found out no arrangements had been made for those services. Communication was virtually non-existent, They were in the process of changing social workers, which could explain some of the lack of communication with us, but certainly not all of it. Food was unappetizing. He told us he felt like a mushroom that had been abandoned and his spirits were extremely low. Once he was relocated to a personal care home, he made an amazing recovery and started gaining back the weight and the muscle use that he lost at Friendship Haven. I would definitely not recommend this facility to anyone.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Friendship Haven did an outstanding job taking care of my 93 yr old mother who passed in december 2013. The facilty was clean well ran and extremely well oriented to the total comfort for their patients. This was my 4 th unit and I deffinitely saved the best to last! Cant say enough good things about entire staff! I guess the most impressive act of love and kindness when 7 of the nurses and staff attended my mothers funeral!

Friendship Haven is very clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. However, they could really work on the menu. The food is bland and the choices that they have are not tasty. Other than that, we got no complaints. It's a nice place.
