Vista Hills Health Care Center is a really clean place. They're gentle with my father and they treat him pretty good -- they get along pretty well. It is homey and they take care of the elderly people pretty good. It has a friendly atmosphere and I can talk to the staff if I need some information, like the therapist. They keep him clean and help him to go to the restroom. Their menu includes chicken, fish, and meat. He has a choice of eating something different every day. The food is pretty good, I've seen it being cooked and served to him, and he will eat everything. It's an old building, but they keep the restrooms, the shower, the rooms, and the halls really clean. It's kind of expensive though.

I come here to visit a friend once a week, and I'm happy to report that it's a very clean place, with lots of caring staff who genuinely love their jobs and their residents. They're very kind and considerate of them, and it shows in the affection and trust the residents have for them. The feeling is obviously mutual. Everything is very clean, including the kitchen, and the food is great. Things are well kept and the residents always have games and activities available, lots of holiday events, and religious support. It's really a great place where you can feel assured when you go home at night that your loved one is being cared for by wonderful people who love what they do.

I found the staff to be real friendly and kind to the patients there. The staff knew each individual pretty well, they knew their favorite games to play, meals to eat, and were very informative on how to care for them. The patients seemed to know that they were in good hands because they were happy most of the time with the exception of a bad day here and there. The patients were friendly themselves, eager to meet new people and share a story or two. The facilities were well kept and very clean, I can't remember seeing anything out of place or messy, to me this was very important because what family member would want their loved ones in an unclean and unkept environment? I sure wouldn't. The employees would have many activities for the patients such as bingo, arts and crafts, and seasonal events such as haunted houses, and christmas festivities. I enjoyed the time i spent at Vista Hills, I think it is a great facility for the elderly, and if I ever had relatives stay here, I would know that they are in good hands.

My grandmother has been in this nursing home since 2009. At first I thought the nurses and staff seemed friendly and helpful but unfortunately that is not the case. Several times when I visit my grandma has had mysterious bruises or cuts and somehow not one of the nurses can tell me what happened. I am not suggesting abusive nature but I cannot understand how they can be so careless as to not know what happened to one of their residents. In 2010 my grandfather also went into this nursing home. There was an incident where a nurse left my grandpa's soiled diaper on his bed and refused to pick it up. He was also very rude to my grandpa and was mocking him right to his face with another nurse. This is very unprofessional and abusive. When I reported the nurse's behavior he was merely put on suspension. My grandparents have been unable to transfer due to problems with their Medicare. However as soon as my family can, we will definitely have them out of that dreadful nursing home. I recommend anyone and everyone to stay away from this nursing home.

My sister had a massive stroke in 2005 and was paralyzed on her right side and has been unable to speak since the stroke. Two weeks ago she was admitted to the hospital with ischemic bowel disease and had to have her bowel removed. She will need to have a bag outside for the rest of her life. The family was never advised about any problems with our sister prior to this incident and we feel that this was due to negligence on the part of the nursing home staff.
