When my father was ready to move to independent living, we visited 3 other options and he did not care for them. The minute we walked into the Monte Vista for our appointment, he was impressed by the gorgeous lobby and the availability of cookies and coffee. He loved the spacious kitchen, bedroom and living area in his apartment. He Enjoyed the activities, performances and friendliness of residents and staff. The last year of his life he was able to stay in his apartment with 24 hour care. Food and service are top notch. Always a friendly, smiling, helpful person at the front desk. My dad was totally comfortable and happy at his “ new home”. Eternally grateful.

I will be moving into The MonteVista at Coronado this coming August. I like the appearance of the building, both exterior and interior. It had a lot of wood interiors. They told me it had once been a hotel and they turned it into a living facility. The rooms are very low-ceiling because they are older, but they're a little bit larger than the one I'm in. It's clean. It smells good. I talked to several of the residents and they were very happy there. They especially said they liked the food. There's a variety of foods that they offer them every day or a standard menu that they can take from all the time. The staff was very helpful. They have a lady at the main desk. She is your constant person to talk to. I talked with the director of marketing, and she was very helpful. The Manager had taken my daughter-in-law through the facilities before I got there about a month ago. She had her camera with her and I liked what I saw. The Manager was very friendly. Everybody there was friendly. Smiled. My son was with me and his little Yorkshire terrier dog, Little Man, was a big hit and the people just adored him. And he liked them. So that gives me a feeling that the dog can tell if people are good. They answered my questions honestly. They said the food was delicious. The service was good. You get your rooms cleaned once a week, not once every other week or once a month. They are older rooms, but they have walk-in showers, and it was clean. The kitchenette area had a lot of cabinets. They had a very nice activity room. They had another card room. They have a physical therapist for the activity room. They have activities all the time. There was a grand piano in the lobby, and they say they have concerts there occasionally. They have good entertainment, the people said. So, all in all, I was very impressed and was sorry that I couldn't move in right away.

I had an in-person tour of The MonteVista at Coronado. The apartments were nice, and the community was great. They have activities, like bingo. Everyone was super friendly and engaged. The lady that took the time and showed me around did a great job. I saw one-bedrooms, and they were nice. The bathrooms were not as handicap accessible in the units that I saw. But the bigger units had a little bit more space in the bathroom. They have a library on site.

I really liked The Monte Vista at Coronado. It's beautiful. It's very open and modern, and it has a lot of different activities, and a lot of things that they do with their residents. It didn't work out for us to a degree, because of the size of it. It is so open and lovely, I just needed my mother in a place that was smaller. I wanted it to pass what we called at our house the Scream Test, where if she fell and didn't happen to have her button near her or with her, if she yelled, it was small enough so people could find her. The Monte Vista is amazing looking for somebody that can socialize more. The rooms were gorgeous, very roomy, and it had a kitchen. It's basically like a sitting area that's slightly separate from the bedroom. It's more like a one-bedroom apartment, or they also have a two-bedroom apartment in case a couple wants to go. The staff member that toured me was very friendly, she seemed very competent, very knowledgeable. She was charming and lovely.

The MonteVista at Coronado was beautiful. The rooms were really big, they all had a nice patio, it's a really nice place, and really well-kept. They had a really large social room that had a nice bar, they do ice cream socials, and they have poker nights. They had a really nice barbecue area on the patio where they barbecue for all the residents. That was really nice. They had a large dining room with waitstaff. The staff was nice. The meals are included and they allow pets.

Our mom has been on the Rehab side several times. She was well cared for each time, physical therapy was good. We recently had to move her to the nursing side, again very well taken care of. This past April was her 90th birthday. We had a party for her on the independent side. The two sides were very gracious coordinating. The room was perfect, the staff so helpful, they were very accommodating! A special shout out to Sheila Roth. She is amazing with the residents! It is very comforting knowing our mom is in a facility where she is taken good care of!

We liked the Montevista. Looking over the list of activities, it looked like they were kind of busy. They had activities everyday.

Montevista at Coronado was very nice, and all the people there looked like they had a lot of money. My daughter just didn't think she would fit in with them. They were kind of looking at her like "What are you doing here?" But the building and everything was very nice, and the staff were nice, but she didn't like the people that were living there. That sounds kind of corny, but I think it's also important. They told us that they will take her at 52, and by the time we got ready to move in, they said no.

My father moved in to The Montevista at Coronado last May. The place is beautiful, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The apartments are beautiful and lovely. He has a complete bedroom; it’s a real apartment. They have a complete kitchen, and the facility is on beautiful grounds. Everything in it is lovely. You walk in, there’s a large lobby, and they have coffee, ice water, and snacks out all the time. They offer lots of activities; he has really taken to the exercises classes, he does a couple of different ones, he plays bingo, and he watches movies in the evening, which he enjoys. They have happy hour every day. He really likes the place.

I think the Montevista at Coronado was a nice facility. In fact, my father-in-law was in their nursing home about a year ago. I am already familiar with the facility. I had the chance to look at the assisted living apartments, and they were very nice. It was very clean. They had lots of parking space. It was in a quiet neighborhood in a very nice part of town. The dining area was beautiful. They had a variety of menus. The staff seemed very helpful, very friendly, and very well trained.

We are living in Montevista de Coronado. It provides everything to those who are really disabled. The company provides the transportation. The meals, which include breakfast, noon, and supper, are provided by the facility. We are very happy with the food. The evening meal has three main courses, which usually have about 5 different vegetables and desserts. There are a great deal of activities provided for us. There is something going on every day. The rooms are very nice. We have a three-room apartment. It has two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchenette, and because our children are visiting, we provide a spare bedroom, and they are quite large. It is in a pretty much secluded area. It is claimed to be a 5-star facility and I will rate it as such.
