I visited this facility

Fairfield Glade Assisted Living was a very nice facility. It was clean and it was well managed from what we could see. The owners were the main staff we talked with, and they were very nice, very knowledgeable, and well-certified. So, they were good people. They had 14 rooms there and it's just one floor.

I visited this facility

We met with the owners of Fairfield Glade Assisted Living. They were very professional and definitely knew their stuff. They gave us the tour, and the place is clean and well-kept. They were in the middle of a lockdown, so we didn't see any residents. The room that we saw was nice. It was just a basic studio room. The place is small, so you're definitely not going to get lost in the crowd there. They have 14 rooms, and some of the rooms don't have showers. They have to use the shower down the hall. All of them have a bathroom, bath, sink, or toilet. The ones that don't have the shower have two nice, good sized closets. The ones that have the shower only have one closet (because it's taken up by shower). They indicated they have crafts. They have people that come in and do concerts or play basic things, but they're limited. They do have a van or something that will drive them to the store or whatever they need. They didn't cost as much as the other place.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Fairfield Glade Assisted Living is very small and there's not a lot of beds. I think there are like 30 rooms but I may be wrong. There may be one or two more, give or take, but it's still not very large. It is very hands-on though. The rooms are very nice and the residents can decorate them as they want. It is nice that they can bring things from home and put things up like having pictures and things that remind them of home. We even got to take my mom's blankets so it is very nice. I like the staff. The nurse that I have personally been in contact with has spent time with us, talked to us, and gone over things with us. She spent, I bet, an hour with us when we visited last time talking over things and asking questions and stuff. It's been a very good experience so far. When you walk in, it's very nice. There's a piano and then there's the common room where they eat. They have a really large Christmas tree and all the residents have decorated it with things that they have made because while they're there, they make things. Even my mom has already got ornaments on the tree. They have a fireplace that kicks on to a certain degree so they can sit out there and see the fireplace while they're eating dinner or lunch or breakfast. They have a TV out there too and they have a fish tank. It's very nicely set up and it's very relaxing. They have a sunroom that's all windows and you can go sit out there and do puzzles or read or take a nap. I like it a lot. It's not very large, but it is very, very homey and very comforting. My mother likes the food she has eaten, and she said they give her too much food and that it's very good. Right now, they are remodeling and there are still a few things that they are doing, but they are in the middle of doing it right now. My mom is not allowed to leave the facility, but that's because of her dementia. We can take her out though. We can go get her, take her with us, go shopping, get her hair done, and things like that. It's not a facility that's locked down where she cannot go out. If we want to take her, we can come and get her. It costs us $2900 to get her in there and when she gets her roommate, it'll be $800 a month. To be honest, we didn't think we'd ever place her anywhere because we didn't think we'd ever be able to get any place like that. To me, they're awesome.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Fairfield Glade Assisted Living is good. My mother wanted a smaller size facility, she didn't like the bigger places, she felt anxious and overwhelmed. The staff was all wonderful, nice, activities, but it's kind of hard to say because of the whole covid situation, you can't really, things are limited and changed from what has been. They have an outdoor sunroom, they've got outside walking areas, paths, places, that kind of stuff.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Fairfield Glade Assisted Living is a very good place. They have given my dad very good care, and the staff has been attentive and seeing to his needs. He's fed well, and they have a doctor on-site, so my dad is responding very well.
