Watercrest Myrtle Beach was stunning. It smelled good, and it was just gorgeous. They had a very attentive staff. They had a diverse food selection for different residents who may have different food needs. The style was more like a luxury hotel than an assisted living facility. It was very homey, very comfortable, and very welcoming. Everyone there was very engaged. Their chef made a dozen of freshly baked cookies for my parents that morning - 6 oatmeal cookies and 6 chocolate chip cookies as a welcome gesture. It was above and beyond, and they had them sent to my parents in the hospital. Where most assisted living facilities have a little eating area, theirs looked more like a restaurant. They didn't have specific hours where the residents could eat. Somebody would come take your order, and they would make you whatever you want.

The Watercrest Myrtle Beach is probably the best bang for the buck. It's brand new. It's got lots of amenities. It has the most amenities. It has a salon, a salt room therapy, a mood room therapy, and a small pool. They have physical therapy, and they have a cigar lounge. They have a dining room that is open from 7:00 to 7:00, and it's more like a restaurant. You can order any meal at any time. They got more selections, and they have specials. I did eat there, and the food was good. The service was slow, but you're in assisted living, so you're not trying to rush through anything. We had a nice tour of the building. They have all three levels of care. That's the Cadillac of the four places that I've looked at. It's brand new. It's got the most amenities. It's exquisite over there, it really is. We actually ate the food over there. Me, my mother and my wife have toured everything over there. They have all kinds of outdoors. They have like a gazebo out back. All the pricing is competitive, so you're getting the most bang for your buck over there. However, if the amenities are there and you don't use it, then it's no good anyway.

I chose Watercrest Myrtle Beach because of the price point. They were the nicest place I found. I like everything. They have a whirlpool and an exercise room. They seem to have a lot of activities. The food was excellent. I'm going into a one-bedroom, and it's got a microwave and a small refrigerator in there.

My loved one lived here for 2.5months. Unfortunately the memory care unit is sub par compared to those in the area. We learned the staff does not have the skills or toolkit to handle Sundowning dementia patients. Often (more than 10 occasions) there was only one staff member in memory care to watch 11 residents. Once you raide an issue, the staff attitude became unhelpful and uncaring.

Watercrest Myrtle Beach is a new facility. Residential relationships had not been formed yet and my mother was going in basically on the ground level, along with the new residents who were all moving in. So, that was a positive thing. The facility itself has a lot to provide. The one-bedroom apartment she is in is a good size and is accessible to the dining room, the beauty parlor, the exercise facilities, the pool, and everything. They have a small putting green and a nice patio facility as well. It is competitively priced. We were able to lock the price for the unit for two years. Another thing that was quite appealing to us was the dining room is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You just go in and order what you want, whenever you want. They don't have specific dining times and my mother has enjoyed the food so far. The staff has been excellent. They do various activities every day with the residents that are both physical and mental. Then they take them out for trips like a week ago, they went to Broadway at the Beach. They have an excellent program and a program director.
