My mother was in the Palmettos of Mauldin last year, and it was a wonderful place. It's an assisted living she chose for herself. She went through a senior geriatric advisor. She told them what she was looking for, then the advisors presented several different places. We looked and that one met her criteria. It was beautifully decorated, and the staff was incredible. They have an RN on duty twenty-four hours a day. There's no time when there's not a nurse on duty -- sometimes even two -- even though it's just assisted living and not skilled care. They have single rooms, and they have little apartments, which is what she had. It had a little living room, a bedroom, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. They had standard activities, but she really preferred to just watch her own TV and chat with the CNAs. She's a night owl, so they would come in at night, and they would have just a grand time together. They had a library, exercises, and bingo, which seems to be everywhere. They had movies too. It's really a very well-run place. I thought the food was good. She had special requirements because she had esophageal spasms, and they always had her food that met all of her medical requirements. They even went beyond that, like they would bring her a little cup of coffee or something. They were just great, all the way around. My mother didn't do many of the activities, but I saw the other residents were always involved in them. They had art activities and guest speakers, those sorts of things. It's very expensive but for that price, you are getting full value.

We were on a waiting list at the Palmettos of Mauldin. It was luxurious, pretty, and modern. It looks like its worth a little bit more. The food was excellent, we had a meal there, and they had a chef. The activities were custom-made for the residents.

Awesome staff, amazing food, beautiful grounds, convenient location....two immediate family members are residents, one of whom is in memory care. I could not disagree more with the review saying there were not people visiting in the hallways or participating in activities. Depending what time of day it is I always see a number of residents, but there are times when some in the assisted living choose to read, nap or watch movies in their own space instead of mingling. I believe this residence to be the very best choice for our loved ones, have experience with other assisted living residences both locally and in another state, and have no hesitation to strongly recommend The Palmettos!

My dad was a resident in the Memory Care area. He had a beautiful, up to date room and bathroom. They have a lovely dining/social activities area in the center with a gorgeous, soothing, enclosed garden nearby. The Palmettos were absolutely incredible. They went above and beyond for us in every way. Kim, marketing, Ruby, the head of nursing, and the director, Katherine were all wonderful. We loved the entire staff in memory care. I looked forward to sharing meals with dad. The food was excellent. I am eternally grateful for the love and care they showed to our family. It would be my choice for any family member.

I toured Palmettos of Mauldin, it was a very nice place and I liked it. It was very large and I liked their amenities. You can get a double room, which was very appealing to me. They had a nice library area where you can go and play some games or read books. The staff was also nice.

Palmettos was a really nice place and pretty new at just three years old. The food looked pretty good from what I saw from the menu. I looked at the room. They showed me where they got their hair cut. The dining room was large, nice, and clean. Everybody there seemed liked they were cared for. The rooms were pretty small. I liked the staff. Everybody was very helpful.

The room at Palmettos of Mauldin seemed very bright and airy with natural sunlight. It’s really nice, clean, and pleasant. There weren’t too many people, but everybody was really very nice. There wasn’t any management there or anything at the time, but they were all very nice and gave me information they could. They had security camera features.

I visited a friend at The Palmettos recently . I found the staff of the Palmettos to be very friendly and caring as evidenced by the expressions on the Residents' faces . The Residents appeared to be up and out of their apartments interacting with the staff and other Residents. Several of the Residents were working on puzzles and other brain games. The Community is small and home-like and my friend loves how close knit the community is. My friend chose this community because they have nurses around the clock and that gives her peace of mind. I give The Palmettos 5 stars!

The Palmettos was a bit pricey, and the rooms and the residents seemed isolated. There wasn't a lot of community living; they all seemed to be in their rooms, and then when you did see some together, there were about only two or three of them. Beautiful facilities and everything -- it was just top of the notch -- but being personable and all that is more important with me. Mostly they played board games and stuff like that there such as scrabble, bridge, and different games like that.

My mom was in The Palmettos a little over a year, but it was in South Carolina, and it was far away from me. It's assisted, and she was in memory, care but they had all kinds of activities, exercise classes, a lot of crafts, and nail polishing. It was a locked-in unit that had 12 rooms in it. She loved to walk outside, and they didn't want her wandering and getting lost and calling. There were two bedrooms and then a small living area and a bathroom. She had her own closet, her own telephone and a TV. She had her own furniture there and the living space was just a very small room, but it was fine. They shared a bathroom, and each had a bedroom. It was a wonderful facility; it was new. That's why I wanted her over, because she had had nurses on staff 24 hours a day, and they took great care of her. I had her closer to me prior to that, and she was having UTI's constantly. She didn't have a single one while she was there because they got her the right medicine right away before it got bad. Mother loved the food. They had a wonderful chef. It had a variety, and they made sure that they didn't give her things that she didn't like. They had a very, very balanced diet: meat and vegetables and some salad. I didn't have any complaints except that it was just too far away.
