I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The residents have recently been notified that they will no longer have a choice for their meals. They will receive whatever Grand Islander decides is their favorite meal. Seems archaic with the cost of residents in this facility.

My loved one was at Grand Islander for the past few months. Covid has been very tough on all yet I still receive updates from Nurses, Social Workers and Therapists. All staff have gone above and beyond helping us out. Long term care is not easy to navigate but Grand Islander has helped in all aspects from nursing needs to financial and insurance information. I would highly recommend this as a temporary placement or long term. Thank you to all Grand Islander staff!! Job well done!!

Appalled they sent my Mother home soiled (a PCA at my parent's house for her arrival confirmed it had been there for an extended period of time). They have a serious area of opportunity with their communication, especially with how little information they gave to our family, not just during her extended stay they 'strongly advised', but had transport literally drop my Mother off with no information for continued care. For the record, she isn't in a coherent state. Logic and reason tells me to leave this so others can avoid this establishment.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother has been at Grand Island Nursing Home for about six months now. Overall, there have been very few problems. The staff are attentive and I feel really treat my mother well. Grand Islander is bright and cheerful, and is a overall happy place to visit. My only concern is that they seem to have a very low staff/resident ratio. However, most of her needs are met on a timely basis. The majority of the staff working with the residents are really outstanding, and seem to care greatly about the residents. I chose this facility out of all of the ones I visited, and would recommend Grand Islander to any family.

Grand Islander is very clean, and the staff are well trained and friendly. There are also various different kinds of activities for the residents. Grand Islander also has a very holistic view of practice. There are three different units, each one individualized for the type of resident and their specialized needs. The staff is highly trained and very compassionate. As a social worker I was very impressed with the establishment.

The Grand Islander staff takes good care of its patients. The staff works very hard and it is clean. I do feel like the staff could use more help.
