The community, the director, and the people at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay were very nice. They seemed to be more caring for the family as well as their residents. Mom, at the time, was moved into a furnished apartment and it was lovely. It was just perfect for her and I would highly recommend it. They had a very nice meal selection. You can have as much as you want and you're able to have guests. So, everything was good. They had so many different clubs and activities available. They had crocheting, a reading/book club, trivia, bingo, word games, and cocktail hours on Friday afternoons. They also had an indoor pool and exercise room. It's a lot more bang for your money.

I toured Brookdale Sakonnet Bay. It didn't start off good, but it got better. The woman who was doing the tour was 20 minutes late. She'd forgotten that she was meeting with us, so that part wasn't good. But once she got there, she was very knowledgeable. The condition of the place was good. It could have been freshened up a little, but overall it was OK. It was clean. It didn't smell or anything. It could just use fresh paint, and that was in the common areas. The apartments themselves were very nice. They gave us cookies when we left, and the cookies were delicious.

Brookdale Sakonnet Bay felt very welcoming. Even though it was a much larger place, it felt very comfortable. There were lots of spaces for people to walk around inside as well as outside. It was well thought out. The rooms were very nicely laid out and they looked very pleasant. The bathrooms were well laid out and safe for a person with limited mobility. I was very impressed with it. Everybody that we met during the tour was very pleasant. Everyone was very gracious and forthcoming with answers and seemed very happy to be there.

I've visited Brookdale Sakonnet Bay two or three times. We were set to do a respite for January, February, and March. On the first day of December, we were called and told that we had to come in the next day and we can't do that. They're giving me 24 hours of notice. I had my paperwork in and that was very disconcerting to be put on the spot like that. We were ready to go, but we thought we had another month to go. I liked them. I liked the people there. I went to an open house there, had two personal interviews, and they came out to the house. I was hoping to get in. The place was quite lovely. The accommodations were very nice. They had hors d'oeuvres scattered around at the open house. It looks like the food would be very good. They had all the things that I was looking for. I saw a two-bedroom apartment. It was a beautiful day during the open house, so a lot of the residents were outside. The staff was lovely.

Nice place. Clean and inviting. People are nice. Rooms are all different, from small rooms to two room suite. Some with patios. Food is awful! Small portions, no care given to preparation, half the time it is cold. Activities were few and far between, partly due to Covid. When they get entertainment in, it’s top notch. Hopefully food gets better. That’s a big problem.

We toured Brookdale Sakonnet Bay. It was a very lovely facility. The gentleman that toured us was very helpful, answered all our questions, and gave us a complete tour of not just the nursing facility, but of other parts as well. So you get a feel of the space. We met some of the staff, physical therapy nurses, and so on. The rooms were very spacious. They would have two occupants, they each have a bathroom with a walk-In shower. It was very nice, very clean. The lunch menu and then the evening meal because we were there for a visit at one o'clock in the afternoon, was pretty extensive because all the residents get a choice of meals. There were quite a few choices actually for three meals a day, and they have their own dining room. Every section has its own dining room so the residents do not eat in their rooms. They eat together with other people as a community. There was an activity room, they did have a list of activities that happened like Monday through Friday, quite extensive, and they sometimes joined with the other people from the assisted living. All the different communities have outdoor music, for instance, entertainment of that caliber, they would go outside. Everybody is welcome to participate, but then they have other activities as well. It seems like a very caring place and they seem very efficient. Hopefully, it all works out and my mother will be able to go there. The staff has been very helpful. He has emailed me information, I was just there maybe a half hour ago dropping off paperwork, he's very accommodating, very friendly, very knowledgeable. It's clean, it's very nice inside. I mean, the amenities all look nice. There are other things that we did not see, such as the swimming pool or a gym. We didn't visit those. They have those there for the other residents in the other levels of care. The grounds are beautiful. It's lovely. Many of the independent living seem like they have balconies and so they have nice views, but we did not go into the independent living part because that wasn't something we were looking at. It was closer to where I live.

Brookdale Sakonnet Bay was very nice. The location was nice. The facilitator of the tour was fantastic, answered a bunch of questions, and offered us lunch which we took to go. What we didn't like about it is that they were the only place that at the time not allowing us actually in the memory care facility. We could only get a sense of that facility with video. From what we've seen, the physical look of the community was quite good. It seemed well kept, but what we found was that there can be a big difference between the memory care part of the facility and the standard assisted living part of the facility. We were not able to determine that. The food was excellent. We were able to see all the facilities. They had everything. They even had an indoor pool. There was a library and outdoor courtyards.

My mother is in Brookdale Sakonnet Bay and it has been OK so far. There have been a few bumps in the road and they're trying to address them, but there's still some bumps in the road. My mom likes the apartment and she seems happy. They have studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. It was OK, but they're dealing with COVID right now, so I found out on move in day that I couldn't go into her apartment to help her unpack, so I was very upset about that. However, I understand that's the Department of Health changing rules, not them. I just emailed the director and he allowed me to come in to finish unpacking. The staff members were very good. They have outdoor areas as well as indoor areas. I talk to my mother every day; she has her own cell phone. She has three meals a day plus snacks and they deliver it to her room because of COVID. They are talking about opening the dining room next week for lunch and dinner. They can have dinner in their rooms normally, but that would be an additional fee, but they're not being charged for that right now because of COVID. They have a pool and a movie theater. My mom knows somebody at Brookdale so that's mainly why we went to there.

We toured Brookdale Sakonnet Bay. It's just down the road from us. There was a very popular restaurant there, and they've done a wonderful conversion of that property for the venue. I enjoyed the very comfortable and welcoming feeling you get as you walked in the door. I'm very attracted to the swimming pool and the hot tub, but I enjoyed the additional services they offered along with the excellent care like the 24-hour call. The young girl was very informative and let us in a few "secrets" which was very nice, it was very enjoyable, and she was so open. Most of the people that I encountered made you feel that you belong there. You just feel very welcome.

We chose Brookdale Sakonnet Bay for Mom because we liked the staff, the amenities, and the proximity to our home. She's very happy there. They serve 3 meals a day. The staff is very cooperative and gets back to me very quickly if I have questions. I'd call or email, and I'd get an answer within hours. They are very responsive. Mom does exercise in the gym and group exercises every day. They meet in the pub, and they do trivia games and socializing. They also have a happy hour which she enjoys every day. They also have music activities regularly. They also have outside activities like trips, shopping, an errand day, museums, and scenic rides. On Tuesdays, they can arrange transportation to go to their doctors. The place is older, but it's kept up very well. They meet with the residents once a month to get feedback from them.

My dad is at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay. The thing that I like the most about this community is that it feels like the people working there really care about what they do. You see it from somebody who is cleaning and putting towels in bathrooms to people preparing food to the nursing staff. It is just a happy place. It feels good, smells good, and is a beautiful facility situated right on the water. It is a big place. My father has a patio, which is beautiful, but he can’t get out. We’ve put Mom’s flowers, pumpkins, bird feeders, and things outside, so he can see those. With regards to activities, they are just constantly doing things with them. I feel my dad is not going to leave this community. He is very safe there. It is very welcoming. He is not going to wander and then accidentally get out of there.

The staff at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay was excellent. My visit was very well done. The food and the facilities were very nice. The setup of the bedroom was good. It is one-bedroom with big closet spaces and a small kitchen, nice living room, and the scenic view was excellent. The atmosphere is very homey. If I would go into a senior facility, I would definitely choose this.

Sakonnet Bay was beautiful. It was very nice and large. It was very much newer. I did see the rooms and they were beautiful. We looked at the studio and one-bedroom apartments, and this one was I think the most expensive among the places I went to.

This facility is kept extremely well maintained. When my aunt was living here it was an extremely pleasant experience. The staff was very nice and willing to "go that extra mile" for you. They would sit and talk to my aunt if she were lonely or play games with her. The dining staff was nice and the dining room was okay. The food was nothing special but decent and well prepared.

After touring and researching many many assisted living facilities in the MA/RI area, this was the one that my family memeer chose. I would like to qualify this review by stating that while the assisted living residence is wonderful, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, THE DEMENTIA OR NURSING HOME AREA OF THIS RESIDENCE. The assisted living residence, offers the unique blending of independence and care. Residents are able to decide daily whether they wish to cook in their fully appliance kitchen, or take meals in the dining room. Children are encouraged to visit, and family is allowed to spend the night if they choose. Basically, it is like renting a condo, with the added benefit of a skilled staff to assist residents as needed. It also offers many activities, and group functions along with day trips and classes. They have a library which offers audio books, as well as traditional books, computers and lessons are also available for use. Their are many common rooms to visit w/family or friends if you dont wish to be in your apartment or if the residents would like to just sit and relax. Another great feauture is that they will introduce you around, and help you meet at least one person who will show you around and help you get used to the place. The have a full pub, and have entertainment there as well. Add an exercise room and program, to the indoor heated pool and you have a health club on site and at no additional costs. They run many diffferent day trips, and have entertainment as well. The grounds are fully landscaped and there is even a "garden club". This is a great place for the independant person, who values privacy and yet doesnt want to live totally alone, AND may require some assistance with various every day things. It is definately worth touring and researching.
