I'm in a nursing home called Waterview Villa Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in East Providence. It's for long-term care because I just got from the hospital where I spent a week in. I've been here for over a year now and I thought I was ready to get out but I wound up in the hospital again. The place is understaffed and that's the biggest problem here. I think if they had more staff, they could handle things much better. We have the best activities though, I have to say that. They do a fantastic job at keeping everyone busy. The food is mediocre. It depends on whoever the cook is. They have a very small kitchen and everything is frozen. They don't have somebody with enough imagination to put different things together to make a complete meal. We have the best mechanic I've ever seen here. It's an older building but it's kept up pretty well.

I was at Waterview Villa on two different occasions. The room was very nice and the beds were good. The furniture looked like it had been updated within maybe the last 5 years. Everything was clean as a whistle. There was always enough help to answer the call very promptly. The therapists were good. They made it a point to get everybody cleaned at a certain period of time. The CNAs were excellent. The RNs were good, too. I think there were two for the whole place, and it was extremely busy. But everything was good. They had their own library, they had games, arts and crafts, and DVD movies. But I didn't participate in too many of them because I wasn't able to. I had infection, so I was secluded. The staff was very caring to know the patient that was going to be there for a while. The same CNA would ask to have the same patient, so you don't see a different face every day of the week. The food was okay.
