First and foremost, I would like to thank Stephanie for everything ,without her I would not have had the opportunity to become a resident and have the rehab that I more than needed with the limited time the insurance company would pay for .They worked miracles. My therapist now at home are amazed at the progress I made .My CNA’s and nurses went over and above, also other staff that filled in from other parts of the building as well .There are not words enough to express my appreciation.

Thank God I got my sister out of there. I am her guardian. Poor if no care. Ignored her. Took her out in Sept of last year. She is in a wonderful facility now. Also Athena owned. Orchard View is a definite problem facility. I can sleep at night now. My sister is receiving wonderful care now.

Our friend was recently an inpatient at Orchard View. The nursing care was minimal and the facility always smelled like a old nursing home. No one in social services seemed to care about the patients. They just care about collecting money. Please do not leave anyone here that you care about.

The facility is very nice, that is all I can say. The people that work in the offices are so unconcerned about anything to do with patients. The rooms are nice. Interactions with staff was almost nil. The nurses do not want to be bothered. The one time I did get one to come to the room. She hurried in and said "WHAT do you WANT?" I said I think you should ask is "What can I do to help you" She was very rude. She said I will go get a heating pad. They are not allowed to use heating pads in a nursing home. The CNA'S act like teenagers at a ball game. they are not interested in their job. They watch tv most of time and eat in that area. The person I was there to visit became Gravely ill while they temp was 104 when her family demanded she go to a hospital. She had 5 infections in the 8 days she was there. All of the staff members need lOTS OF TRAINING. The Nurses need to be removed and replaced. The CNA's are very undeducated in their job requirements. When my friends family told me what happened the ER nurse told them 1 more day the person would be in a coma from lack of care. Do not take you friend of family member to this location. Very sad at the price they require they should have excellant care. Not near death.

Orchard View Manor happened to be close to where my parents live. The care was excellent. The staff took good care of my dad. They gave him the attention that he needed and the physical rehab that he needed. I don't have anything bad to say about them because they did a great job with him. He didn't complain about the food, but I didn't get to taste it. They did have activities available. They had singers, bingo, and various church activities.

Orchard View Manor in East Providence, RI was one of the best nursing homes I have ever been to. The staff made my relative feel right at home. He never went without anything. The food there wasn't bad at all surprisingly not owing up to its hospital rumors. The staff always was friendly with my relative never snappy or rude. I have seen a lot of nursing homes around here and it seems as though there staff was just pulled from the mud, but this staff was well trained, when we had a question they always knew the answer. Any time he rang they were always right there with a smile. We rarely experienced the guilty feeling that accompanies you when you have to admit a family member into a nursing home, there was always activities for him to do no matter if there was a holiday or if it was a Saturday. The facility was always clean, without those weird smells that I have experienced in some other facilities. Any time he was asked how he liked the staff he would always gush about them. The staff was always kind and empathetic up until the very end. We enjoyed the company from the staff and would recommend them to anyone. If we had to make the decision all over again it would definitely be Orchard View Nursing Home in East Providence RI all over again. They turned a usually unpleasant experience into something a little more comforting.
