We chose Scandinavian Communities Assisted Living for my parents because it was a combination of assisted living and nursing. Our experience with them so far has been really good. They've taken excellent care of my parents, so we have no complaints at this time. The food was very good, they have chefs that make the food with fresh meat, fresh vegetables, and fresh everything. The residents have games they play, they do puzzles, they paint, they have two people that play the piano in the afternoons, music sessions, and so on. The staff is excellent. Some of them are from my father's previous community so it worked out beautifully. The activities are excellent, they have a bowling day, they go out to eat with no charge, they take the residents on picnics, and there are lots of things going on for the assisted living people. The price is expensive, but it's comparable to all the other places we checked. It's an older building, but the interior is super clean and well kept-up.

My mom moved into the Scandinavian Assisted Living facility 7 years ago. Until the Covid epidemic hit, the services and care were good, and she enjoyed living there. The food was good, but the quality started to go downhill before Covid. Since Covid, there has been a turnover in staff, a lessening of activities, a dip in level of care, separation anxiety, a continuing decline in the quality of food, and an exidous of residents. The facility has declined to provide the number of vacancy. The facility looks tired and worn.

The Scandinavian Home is a wonderfull facility with very minor faults. My aunt rosealina says she has a wonderfull time there. She has very little complaints. She loves it there and the only problem she has is that it can get a little draft and sometimes there isnt enough seats or chairs but very minor things. The staff is freindly she says that out of the two places shes been to this is the better. Shes taken care of nicely and she thinks that the place looks very nice. In addition to lack of seating at times and temprature problems , it does get a bit loud with some of the other people there some of they can be very loud especially in the break room. But its nothing too bad. All in all the place is very nice and she enjoys her time there!
