My mom moved into Cedar Crest Nursing Centre Inc, and I'm very happy with them. This is probably one of the top nursing homes in the state of Rhode Island. My mom's getting used to it. The staff is amazing. They are so friendly and accommodating. The place is very clean and doesn't smell like urine. The rooms are not very big. My mom has a roommate. They have hospital beds. My mom says the food is good. The dining area is very nice, big, sunny, clean, and has lots of big windows. My mother said they were playing kickball, and she enjoyed that. Every Thursday, they have entertainment that comes in and sings. They have a beautiful outside gazebo. The property outside is gorgeous. They do sing-alongs and arts and crafts. They keep them pretty busy. It's expensive, but they get them on Medicaid, which is good. I was lucky to get my mom in here because it's a beautiful place. I highly recommend it.

The facility is very pretty, I must admit. It looks good esthetically in the main lunch room and the new area is beautiful and clean. The food swings from good, to awful in quality, but that issue can be worked with, as I bring food in for my friend aunt and Dad. So, the care also swings in both directions. The nurse has about 8 patients to manage each. Finding him or her is another story. They are decent for minor assistance and 1 CNA gives a heck of a shower. My father was in a double room and I oversee his care...the poor roommates he has have been lucky if someone even peeks in to see if they are still alive. They spend a lot of time in a small office where CNA, eat, talk, chit chat make phone calls, and a nurse sits at a computer seemingly busy. My Dad has needed assistance and I'd buzz for him and 1 he, 2 hrs go by and no response. I go into the office and stand there and no one acknowledges me and they are usually in the middle of not much then they reluctantly ask, do you need something? It is a very sad reality. The beds are small, like summer camp beds, and they have little resources for larger people. They tend to scream their short term admittees, and if they are too needy they are refused return if they are sent out to hospital and say there are no beds available to the social worker. If you call personally a bed may appear miraculously and if you call and they don't want the patient back, they say no beds. Meanwhile I call back disguised and somehow there is a bed available or if you know someone...a doctor, etc. They will create space. Be very careful here.

I wouldn't give this dump 1 star let alone 5!!! They spent a ton of money on building a new unit and that's all they care about. How can a nursing and rehab center allow a 63 year old person with major health problems and a very recent broken back to be discharged with no place to go? A wouldn't place my worst enemy in this place!!!

The Cedars (Cedar Crest Nursing Centre) was an incredibly busy and noisy place for our needs, but there were many patients who preferred a busier place. The main area that we saw had lots of activities going on which was good for the residents' stimulation. The artworks and the color scheme were pleasantly put together.

My mom is at Cedar Crest. They have short-term care and long-term care. She’s there for long-term rehab, and she’s getting good care. She gets exercise treatment five times a day. The food is pretty good. She does not have problems with the nurses, and they really take good care of her.

We were at Cedar Crest as visitors not looking, but we were delivering some gifts, and it appears clean. The people appeared to be reasonably cared for. It appeared clean, and it appeared that they were conscientious in the care of the patients. For only being there 15 to 20 minutes, they appeared to be operating reasonably well and the people we talked to seemed quite pleased and happy.
