I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father-in-law was a past resident of Country Meadows Retirement Communities. It's top shelf. They aimed to please. They were very patient and considerate. They did a fine job in taking care of my father-in-law. The facility was very clean and very nicely decorated. They had all types of activities to keep people busy. The food is good.

Very Happy Here

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I moved my mom into the Connections Memory Care of Country Meadows at Leader Heights in March of 2023. The care she and I both have been receiving since the day we walked in the front door is exceptional! The entire community is beautifully maintained, and the staff members, from the administration team to the front desk personnel, and everyone in between, have been very friendly and helpful. The Connections staff lovingly cares for my mom daily and are very attentive to my mom’s every request and need. They never hesitate to take the time to answer all my questions and share details about my mom’s daily life whether I am visiting or simply calling to check in on her. The activities have provided my mom with an opportunity to stay active in many ways and have helped her to build lasting friendships with the staff as well as other residents. The staff encourages and welcomes me to participate in any activities being conducted and they set up the country kitchen very nicely so we can have family meals with my mom as well. I highly recommend Country Meadows to anyone looking for a loving safe community for themselves or their loved ones.

Provider Response

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My cousin Ruth was diagnosed with dementia and was no longer able to live alone. After a long unsuccessful search for a suitable facility a friend told me about her parent’s excellent experience at Country Meadows in Leader Heights. I made an appointment to have a tour with Angele. I left there for the first time feeling hopeful. To get a better understanding of the workings, I returned 3 times with my husband, my sister and finally with my cousin. We were all taken by the beautiful physical facility, the genuine attentiveness and kindness of the entire staff and especially the contentment of the residents. I placed Ruth on the waiting list and within weeks she moved into a lovely personal care apartment with additional care through the Connections Club. When it soon became clear to the watchful staff that she needed more support they gradually introduced her to the Memory Community. Angele and other staff made the right call in this move! Now while the staff lovingly cares for Ruth they also always take the time to answer my questions and share details about her daily life. While I marvel at this effort it is standard care at Country Meadows! I visit often and watch the staff from all living levels throughout the building. The ratio of staff to resident allows a level of attention I never thought possible. Regarding all staff including administration, care takers, food service, medical personnel, maintenance, front deck personnel and others, these are caring and loving people who have genuine personal relationships with the residents. The kindnesses I’ve regularly witnessed are not only offered from staff to resident but also from one resident to another. The sense of a community looking out for one another is evident. Daily life at Country Meadows is well planned and implemented smoothly. The food is exceptional with choices at every meal. The around-the-clock activities on all levels are varied, stimulating and fun. There are ongoing opportunities for exercise and one’s spiritual needs. The daily social events provide for connection and friendships. The many furnished areas throughout the building offer extended living space for residents and their visitors. And visitors are welcomed and invited to join their loved ones in events. The facility itself is beautifully cared for. I am most grateful that Ruth experiences an enriched quality of life at Country Meadows and I would recommend this community to anyone looking for a safe and openhearted home for themselves or for a loved one.

Provider Response

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for sharing your experience with Country Meadows! We are delighted to hear about your positive experience and the wonderful care your cousin Ruth is receiving. It warms our hearts to know that Angele and the entire staff have made a positive impact on your family's journey. We appreciate your detailed observations about the beautiful physical facility, the attentiveness of the staff and the contentment of the residents. It is especially rewarding to hear that the transition to the memory care neighborhood was a thoughtful and beneficial decision for Ruth. Your comments about the genuine personal relationships between staff and residents, as well as the sense of community within Country Meadows, reflect the values we strive to uphold. We are thrilled that the daily life at Country Meadows is meeting and exceeding your expectations, from the exceptional food choices to the varied and stimulating activities. It is an honor to contribute to Ruth's enriched quality of life, and we are grateful for your recommendation. If you have any further questions or if there's anything else we can do to enhance your experience, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This place charges $6000 a month and doesn’t do anything. They have let my family member leave through the front door at 11 pm and blamed the 95 year old family member. They are now refusing to let him come back out of the hospital because they don’t have staff to help with physical therapy. For $72 thousand a year , that is their job. Don’t use them. They just take your money and do nothing.

Provider Response

Our personal care residents are free to come and go as they choose. If this becomes a concern, we do recommend families consider our Connections Secured Memory Support neighborhood where residents receive needed services in a safe environment that limits the ability to wander. Our team members work very hard to support all our residents in every level of care. We would like the opportunity to change your opinion, and ask you to please contact our campus executive director. Thank you.

My wife was asked to leave their memory unit after three months. She was too much for Country Meadows to handle. But, rest assured, they will keep the $2000 they charge you to move in!

Provider Response

It is unfortunate when a care plan doesn't work out. Especially since our co-workers become very quickly attached to our residents. If you haven't already, please reach out to the campus' executive director to discuss further. Thank you.

I am so grateful to Country Meadows for giving my mother the gifts of joy, fun, friendship, support and comfort during her time there. From her Independent Living experience, through medical challenges and therapy, to her time in Pathways, the staff genuinely knew her and cared for her so well. She loved the field trips, games and activities. She enjoyed playful daily interactions with residents and staff, who took time to support her with countless acts of kindness. Thank you all!

Provider Response

What a beautiful note! Our team truly loves supporting and getting to know each and every resident as well as their family members. We love reading notes such as yours sharing how our team's hard work enriches residents' lives. When we have those difficult days, as we all do, notes such as this keep us going! Thank you for sharing your mother with our team and for sharing your experiences with Country Meadows.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have been a resident at Country Meadows of Leader Heights for over three years and have found it to be exceptional. The organization does everything it can to keep residents safe AND happy. Staff members are outstanding and will do everything they can to accommodate resident concerns and wishes. The community is lovely, the dining staff is very responsive to resident preferences and the entire staff is really approachable, accessible and friendly. There is really a "yes we can" philosophy here, which in my opinion, makes it the place to be for senior LIVING.

My Mother and father were having a difficult time determining their next move. When they chose Country Meadows, Leader Heights provided an unparalleled welcome. Since their arrival, staff members have gone out of their way to make my parents feel cared for and safe. They have never hesitated to respond when Mom and Dad need help. The staff has always acted quickly and provided evidence-based solutions. We feel blessed to have Mom and Dad at Country Meadows. We want to extend a special thank-you to the maintenance staff, Residential Manager Mary Anne, and PA Kelly for continuously monitoring Mom and Dad's health care.

Provider Response

Thank you very much for your kind words and for sharing your parents with our team. Your co-worker “shout-outs” mean so much. We truly believe that our team is among the best in the senior living industry and, yes, we realize we are biased. J Our co-worker surveys consistently reveal the number one reason co-workers enjoy working for Country Meadows. That reason is simply "the residents." Because of their caring nature, we are proud of our co-workers who go above and beyond to provide residents with exceptional care and numerous opportunities to enjoy life. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have. Again, thank you.

The rooms are very clean and well taken care of. The building is meticulously maintained and designed for the needs of the residents. The staff is amazing. My father arrived with numerous issues, more than we anticipated. EVERYONE at this facility made the necessary accommodations to best meet my dad’s needs. Country Meadows makes everyone feel welcomed and valued. They understand that no two individuals are alike, hence you don’t see any one size fits all mentality practiced here.

Provider Response

Thank you very much for your kind comments about our community and co-workers. Every day we strive to make life a little better for each and every one of our residents as well as their family members. How wonderful to read that your father is doing so well and, in turn, you have found peace of mind. Thank you for sharing your father with us. If you have any questions, our Executive Director’s door is always open. Enjoy your summer!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I moved into assisted living at Country Meadows (Country Meadows - Leader Heights). It's wonderful, one of the best ever made and I would recommend it to anyone. The staff is great and all the people I've encountered here are delightful and friendly. We have had a couple of lecturers here by people from the radio industry and commentators. My studio apartment is more than enough for me. I've got more than enough space with plenty of furniture. The atmosphere is very bright and cheery, and the people are all very positive. I haven't really run into anybody who isn't positive. The physical facilities here are just amazingly good. I couldn't ask for anything any better.

Provider Response

We are very lucky to have you living with our family at Country Meadows! We love to hear from happy residents. Please let us know if we can do anything to make your life even better!

My mom was at Country Meadows. That place was amazing. The food was amazing, and the girls were fantastic. Going into the place, everything was over the top beautiful. They had a couple of dining areas. The main dining area was really nice. They treated the people like kings and queens and were super great with them. The rooms were so clean. They had happy hour for them where they were allowed two glasses of wine. They would take them for road trips to all different places throughout York. They had bingo and hangman and a personal hairdresser there who was very nice. They had a little store there that they could volunteer in. When you walk into the place, it's like a first-class hotel.

Provider Response

Wow-thank you for your lovely note! And thank you for sharing your mom with us.

I visited this facility

My parents are in Country Meadows, and we liked it there. I think it’s excellent, the care is really good, and they’re always in contact with me. The price is good for what you got, and it’s very clean. The décor is very up to date. They can sign up for activities, and they take them out on trips to stores and to doctors within a 12 mile radius.

Provider Response

We’re so happy your parents are part of the Country Meadows family, as are you! Please reach out if there’s anything we can do to make your parents’ stay even better.

I visited this facility

Mom is moving into Country Meadows in a few days. The place is excellent. She has a one-bedroom apartment with a small kitchen. It's been running for 12 years and is one of the best places in Pennsylvania and has very good culture. There's a pool, a gym, multiple activities, and visiting entertainment. My siblings said the food was good. The dining area was restaurant-like. Country Meadows is definitely the best in the area.

Provider Response

Thank you very much for choosing to share your mother with us. We love our residents and appreciate your kind observations about our community. Please contact us if you need anything.

I visited this facility

My mother-in-law is in Country Meadows - Leader Heights (South York), and they have lots of planned activities seven days a week. There's crafts that goes on everyday, they offer programs and entertainment, and there is a gym where they work with them to help with their balance and strength training. There's a pool for them to swim if they want to. There are also outside activities that they go to. The other nice thing about it is it is one price, that as she declines, the cost is not to go up. She's only been there four days, but so far, I'm very pleased with what I've seen. She is very happy there. The staff that we have met have been very nice and very helpful. We went there last night at 10:00, there was somebody that we could talk to, and somebody actually had come in to the room to check on her before bedtime. I just feel very comfortable with her being there. You can visit her 24 hours a day. There's no time restraint. You can go in at any time of the day or night to check on her.

Provider Response

It’s wonderful to read that your mother-in-law seems to be adjusting well to life at Country Meadows. You are right: there are many, many, many activities available for residents from fitness to volunteer service to entertainment and outings. Please feel free to stop in our executive director’s office with any concerns you may have. Thank you for choosing us.

I am a friend or relative of resident

I have a Dad who had a stroke 1 year ago and was given 2weeks to live in August 2011. He has always been a fighter. We took him to a Hospice and in 9 days he was discharged to a rehab facility near his home. Having 100 days of rehab covered by insurance he began to slowly but surely progress. When rehab expired he was moved to another floor. It was a very stressful environment. During my bi-weekly visit, traveling 2 1/2 hrs each way, I found myself being more of an aide than a visitor and always left feeling sad and exhausted. He began looking like a Holocost survivor. People who loved him pleaded with me to move him closer to me, they had done all that they could do for him. My wife & I paid an unannounced visit to Vountry Meadows one Saturday afternoon. It was as though the staff was waiting for my arrival and gave us full attention and a thourough tour. I was blown away by the genuineness and courtesy we were shown. The place looked more like a Hotel in the Bahammas that i couldnt afford, than an assisted living facility. From the Dining Rooms, fireplaces, decor, menu, private room, and state-of-the-art Physical Thrapys, in-house movie theatre, a host of daily activities, a mission statement based on dignity, quality of life, and respect written with the same resolve as the Constitution and Bill of Rights, I couldn't help but weep when I walked out the door. I though my Dad would not qualify in his current condition. Everyone at CM believed my Dad was capable of doing things I no longer believed. They were eager to receive him! He had been there for 3 weeks and has regained his dignity, is adding new words to his vocabulary daily, and lifting his "paralyzed" leg that was never supposed to move again. He has gone on short Tours and last week was taken inside his favorite store, in public for the first time in a year! When I leave after a visit I feel joy and well being, not stressed. No place or caretakers will ever be perfect, but this facility has many of the most compassionate human beings I have ever met. It is a proactive not reactive environment. It's a neighborhood of friends that I hope exists for my generation.

Provider Response

Dear 1learner:

Thank you very much for your kind comments about our community and co-workers. Everyday we strive to make life a little better for each and every one of our residents as well as their family members. I am thrilled to read that your father is doing so well and in turn, you have found peace of mind. My father also resides in one of our Country Meadows communities and it gives my siblings and me comfort to know that he is surrounded by new friends and co-workers available to respond at a moment's notice. I also am happy to read that your father is once again enjoying life both in and outside Country Meadows. Moving to a retirement community never should result in giving up one's favorite pastimes and hobbies. I hope that he is able to make several return trips to his favorite store and continue to enjoy the many outings and activities offered at Country Meadows.

Again, thank you very much for choosing Country Meadows. It is our honor to serve your family.

I visited this facility

The only place we visited where all of the staff was friendly and reached out to answer all questions. Very nice dining accommodations, with a lot of open space. This place offered a variety of activities and supportive staff members. I was quite impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, to be honest I was blown away by it. The rooms had bathrooms, they didn't have a "communal" bathroom like other facilities do. Some rooms even offered a kitchen with a washer and dryer! They also came with a living room type setting it wasn't just a room for a bed and couch, there was a lot of space. Overall, I think it'd be wise to seriously consider this "home away from home". Prices were reasonable considering the amount of space and things offered.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

When visiting my aunt at the facility I found it to be clean, well organized and beautifully decorated. The staff is very caring and especially respectful to the residents as well as their family and visitors. The professionalism was wonderful. My aunt had some issues with confusion as well as memory issues and the staff helped her when she needed it but in doing so they allowed her to do as much for herself as she was able. The dining experience was one that was social as well as convenient for the residents. They are welcome to eat in the dining room or eat in their rooms if they choose. Assisted living residents there are always accounted for but allowed some breathing room for naps and relaxing as well. The grounds of the campus are beautifully maintained. there are a variety of activities available for residents to participate in but none are mandatory. They have outings to a variety of places in the community for the residents to have the chance to get away sometimes too.
