My mother-in-law is at Amoroso Wellness at York. I'm getting some help, and it's not all on me, but that's the best thing so far. The facility is clean. They have lots of friendly staff. The staff was very helpful. I think they're very expensive for what you get.

My father was at Amoroso Wellness at York. They did not work out. They were untruthful to us about what care my father would be getting. On the outside, the place was great. It was clean, and it didn't smell. My sister and I thought that that would be the best place for my father, and they promised us that they would be able to take care of his personal needs. And they weren't being met. My mother got very upset seeing the state that my father was in. He fell three times while he was there. They're not looking after their people. When we talked to the people who were supposed to be the attendants in the room, they told us that we needed to bring our own towels because their laundry couldn't keep up. They were supposed to be checking on my father every few hours, and that wasn't happening. We were supposed to be helping him with meals, and that didn't happen. It was just too many things that were horrible that we couldn't deal with anymore. With regard to food, my father wasn't there long enough but they seemed fine. And the place was very clean. They had bingo daily and all kinds of other stuff.

The things I like the most about Amoroso Wellness at York were the location, the cleanliness of the place, and the layout was wonderful. The area where you get together for social activities and eating some meals was just great. It has a beautiful scenic country view with no city buildings in sight. It was very nice looking out at the scenic view of Pennsylvania. The people there were very friendly, sociable, and easy to get along with. You could tell that they cared for the people that were staying there very much. The way they worked out the finances for staying there was great. They have reasonable prices that are lower than all the other communities that I went to. It was a great experience. However, they have an outdoor area for elderly people who are in need of memory care and that was at the front of the building and you could see it as you were pulling in and parking the car. It should not have been at the front of the building. You're taking your loved one there, and they see that and it reminds them of prison because you can see a caged-in area that looks like a prison cell all around the outdoor area. That made it difficult for me to get my mother out of the car and go in and look at the place. I made it clear to her that we were just there to look at the place, and we were not planning on putting her in the memory care place because her memory is not so bad that she needs to go into that place. It was a major setback for me and my mother. That's the place I want to take her to. It's so affordable. I would recommend that, but I might have to find another place because of the outdoor area being right there. That'll be a hard one to overcome. Other than that, that was a great place.

I liked the cleanliness of Amoroso Wellness at York. The eating area was fantastic. The rooms were clean, bright, and sizable. Even the smaller ones were kind of big. The staff seemed extremely nice. The one amenity that really stood out was they get a pendant, and if they need anything in their rooms, all they have to to do is push a button and somebody will come. They deliver meals to the rooms if they desire so. There's one set of rooms that actually has a patio, the deluxe rooms, and they can go out there and sit outside if they'd like to. They're pretty nice. The eating area was very clean and big, too. Another thing I really liked is if the family decides to go up and eat dinner with their loved one and they call ahead of time, like two hours ahead to let them know you're on your way, they can go eat with them. It's like $6.00 per meal. It's beautiful up there.

Amoroso Wellness at York was a nice place. It felt more like a nice place you would want to live and visit. It wasn't depressing at all. We talked to some of the people that live there, and they told us how much they liked it. The food was good. Their outside area was nice. They have patios and a walking area. You could push your walker around on it and get exercise. They have a balcony-patio thing that's big. It's like a coffee shop kind of place. None of the rooms that we saw had any cooking appliances. Some had a balcony, and they were the more expensive ones. They weren't tiny rooms and they had nice furniture in there. The staff who took us around was very knowledgeable about any questions that we asked her. She was able to answer them, and she didn't seem pushy but very friendly. People as we went around knew her. They were saying hi to her and stuff. The building was well maintained. It didn't stink. Everything looked clean and organized. There was nice furniture everywhere, even in the common sitting areas.

I loved Amoroso Wellness at York. If I was in a situation where I could go in there, I would love to. The people were wonderful. All the residents I saw seemed happy. The place itself was immaculate. They took me to a one-bedroom unit to look at it and it was way more than I ever expected. It was beautiful. It had a balcony and the whole place was just nice, comfortable, and inviting. The lady that took me around took me into their cafeteria and it was also beautiful, better than some restaurants I've been in. It was just wonderful. I can't say enough good things about that place. Everybody that was in the dining room, eating, seemed happy and they have waiters that come by and bring in their food. They have menus that they choose from every day. The grounds were nice, too. They had music playing when you first walked through the doors. It was like the oldies station and it was just a pleasure to be there. I wish I could have stayed there, but I didn't qualify.

We moved our father here when his care needs exceeded what we could provide at home. He had a nice size room, and the staff was very caring.

Amoroso Wellness at York was extremely helpful and friendly during our visit. They were reasonably priced compared to the other ones. It's an older facility, but they kept it nice. It was well-maintained. The staff was really good. It's a small place. They have an activity room, but they don't have a lot of amenities.

Amoroso Wellness at York was a fantastic place, and the staff was amazing. There's nothing bad that I can say. They were kind and accommodating. They did everything they possibly could to get the kind of information that I wanted. I got to see the staff with the residents and it seems to be a wonderful relationship. The residents were stopping the staff to have conversations with them. The residents seem to be very content where they were. The facility was clean, and they were working on upgrading, organizing the residential area, and updating the library. The dining room seemed to be nice and appealing, and the food looked fine. It looked like a restaurant, not a cafeteria, with tablecloths and menus on the table. There was more of a residential air to it.

We chose Amoroso Wellness at York for my father-in-law because it felt like home. It was very comforting. We got that gut feeling the minute we walked in the door. My father-in-law has dementia, which is the reason he was put into the home. Right now, he's just in assisted living with a little bit of personal care. He only needs help with showering and his meds and things like that. They feel that he doesn't need the complete lockdown memory care unit right now. They have things called happy hours and then every day at 3:00, they do an activity. They do cards and movie days. The one day we were in there, they had root beer floats. All the staff seems to be very caring. We have not had one episode where we were not happy. We get phone calls letting us know what is going on at all times. They have activities like pool tables and things like that for the residents. My father-in-law is not locked down and he roams around quite a lot. It's one of the cheaper homes out of the ones that we looked at, but one of the nicer ones.

I toured Amoroso Wellness at York, and that's the other one that's on the top of our list. Their prices were a little less than one of our top choices by about 15 bucks based on what I think my dad's level of care is going to be, which could change. It was kind of in a country setting. The staff was great. The rooms were very adequate, and everything was included in the price. It was kind of the aftermath of Christmas, and things were decorated for Christmas. Their activity schedule was pretty full, so that was great. It seemed like an overall good facility. You just kind of know when it would be a fit, and that was one of the ones that we kind of considered for Dad. It's not rundown. I've had experiences with other family members that have been in homes and assisted living places, and some of them have been shady at best. This was a lot better than other places that I've had experience with. It had that homey feel.

What I liked most about Amoroso Wellness at York is the friendliness of the staff. I toured their assisted living. The staff was very helpful and very informative. They gave me a lot of information, and I didn't have to ask a lot of questions myself. They have enough activities for the seniors. They really try to keep them occupied. They had different community rooms, and they had enough areas for people to congregate. They also have a hair salon and a garden area like a courtyard type of thing.

What we like about the tour at Amoroso Wellness at York is the entranceway and sitting area when you first walk in, the kitchen area, and the patio, they were all very nice. When you walk through the memory care doors, the hallways were small, and they smelled like urine. We just weren't impressed. They should get rid of the smell and the sitting area in the memory care unit wasn't very nice. The staff members were not quite as friendly as the other place, and they just did not look as professional. The one-room that we saw was pretty nice sized and it had two nice windows.
