My mother was in Seneca Place for over 4 months before her death. All the Seneca staff including the nurses, doctors, therapists, aides and housekeeping went above and beyond making my mother's last months comfortable. I can never forget how well she was treated. I'll always treasure the card they sent me after her funeral with the signatures of all the floor staff on it who cared for her. Thank You Seneca for making a very sad period in my life a little easier to bear. God Bless you all

Do not choose this place. They lie. I have audio. They have not fed my fiance at times, they miss showers w one excuse, lies , or another. Again , I have audio of this happening. Most of the pt is great, one in particular lied, and also watches TV while attempting to have a 73 year old w a leg cast stand. They due not properly clean after rest room. Putting medicine for rash over feces. Bedding has feces on it for days at a time. Not safe, not clean . And not professional. Interaction w staff, some are great. They are carrying the load of the other half of inept staff. Their response to some one w covid was to shut the door and argue in the hallway about who was going to help the resident.

I was sent there by UPMC for rehabilitation----a terrible experience.--nasty , combative ,totally unprofessional people claiming to be nurses, but lacking any sign of training or conduct normally associated with real nurses. They made virtually no attempt to conceal their resentment to me ,instead focusing on making sure that I was uncomfortable and frightened. They showed me no respect or courtesy, just contempt. The therapy people were much better than the phony "nurses". The food was not bad.

I stayed at the assisted living side of Seneca Place. It was very nice, the food was delicious, and it was very clean. Therapy is their number one thing, I think. Overall, it was just a very, very pleasant place to stay. The room I stayed in was really big, it was a single room so nobody else was with me, and it was really clean. Everyone on the staff was very nice too. Anytime you ask for help, they are right there, and they're very friendly.

My wife is in a nursing home at Seneca Place. Our experience has been very good. We chose it because it's top-rated, 5-star, and I've heard from others the quality of service was great and it is. The staff I've been in contact with has been great. The food is not excellent. It's just the way it's prepared, sometimes it doesn't go over real well, but it's good quality. The facility is clean and neat looking, and everything's up-to-date.

I went to Seneca Place two years ago. The visit was very good. I went to high school there, in the building. The staff was very nice, very informative. The rooms were normal size, very clean, and to me, that's the most important thing. The layout was fine. They have a recreation room. Everybody seemed really pleasant and knowledgeable.

I moved my Mom from CA to Seneca Hills Village. I have been so happy with all the staff. Each staff member is so friendly and helpful and even during covid they have been creative to keep the residents engaged. The meals are good and there is a wide variety. Plenty of activities are still going and my mind is put at ease because I know they work hard to keep her happy and safe. I would highly recommend Seneca Hills Village.

Everyone, from skilled nurses to custodians were excellent. Help with procuring a hospital bed, arranging a transport to treatments and doctor appointments, getting meds on time, the level of care in general, plus fantastic meals, occupational therapy, physical therapy, all the care in general was wonderful. My sister was in the best place while she recuperated from back surgery and dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Only 1 glitch, the discharge nurse, we learned, neglected to include a prescription for 1 of her pain meds. My sister went to her daughter’s, a 5 hr drive, but keeping in contact with Seneca Place , the problem was resolved.

My husband received good care at Seneca Place, but sometimes they're shorthanded, just like everywhere else. The staff members were all very nice and caring. The place was clean. They clean the rooms every day. The food was all freshly made and it was the best. I was satisfied overall.

Seneca Place was good. My mom and dad went there for physical therapy, but my dad didn't get to stay there because he wasn't mobile and needed more care. My mom is mobile so she has been doing pretty well. They get treated well.

Seneca Hills Village was OK. The size of the room was smaller, and it was a little bit more institutional. The maintenance was fine, but the place was just smaller than what we wanted for my dad. The staff was friendly.

My dad was in rehab at Seneca Place for 2 weeks for a broken femur. I was very happy with the care there, and I would highly recommend it.. The place was pleasant and clean and everyone treated him well. I think he would've been willing to stay for a lot longer had insurance continued to pay for it as he liked it there. He did really well with his PT and OT and was discharged back to his Independent Living Facility. He has been home almost a week and is doing very well.

Seneca Hills Village is one of UPMC communities. I have a UPMC life supplemental insurance that's why I visited this place. It's a clean and nice community. They have independent living, assisted living and nursing home care, so there's three level of care and that's nice. Their rooms are nice and well-maintained. There is a little kitchenette but no stove. The only thing I don't like about this place is that in the independent living, you can't cook in your apartment and you have to take all of the meals they provided for you. I don't eat pork and some other things, so when I looked at their menu, more than half of their meals, I don't think I would enjoy. Nevertheless, overall, it's a good place for anyone.

I like Seneca Place and I had a friend there. I was very pleased with it. They have a step down program. You can go from apartment to assisted living to skilled nursing in the same area. It's very clean and I had lunch there, it was appetizing. They were very helpful in getting all my friend's medication turned over because she's been taking care of it herself. That was helpful.

My grandmother was a resident at Seneca Place for about 5 years. In the early part of her stay, while she still had her wits about her and could get around relatively well on her own, she lived in a fully furnished apartment style room which was quite nice and had good amenities. She received all of the help that she needed, and the nursing staff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to enjoy doing their jobs. However, I only gave this facility a three star rating because of the latter years of my grandmother's stay there. After developing dementia, the facility moved my grandmother to another portion of the facility. She still received good care in terms of health; however, the nursing staff seemed to be overworked, stressed, and a little unpleasant. They were not nearly as friendly with the patients, and were almost TOO professional in terms of dealing with them and very impersonal.
