I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father likes Harlee Manor, the people, the therapy, and his apartment, and the family atmosphere that's there. The staff in the rehab section is very good and very attentive. A lot of people come in for music and horticulture, which he's interested in, and they have trips. He hangs out with the horticulturist a lot. I can call at any time to reach my father's nurse and they are available to talk to me. They get back to me with a physician, they coordinate care very well, and coordinate transportation. He's a big foodie, and he loves their food. I've had one dinner there, and it was very good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister has uterine cancer that spread to her brain, after surgery to remove tumor she was without use of right arm, leg n speech was, well I don't know what it's called but she only spoke a few words we could understand. After weeks in hospital with many set backs then rejection to known rehab facilities because she was unable to do anything we were told to a nursing home with sub accute therapy was our only option. We were so upset!! A nursing home!!! So we chose Harlee Manor because of location to most of my family. She arrived frail, loss 15 pounds in hospital, could only eat pureed food n thick fluids, could only use bed pans n couldn't even sit up or roll over, forget standing! My sister is 57 years old and we were not given much hope from the hospital so we prayed for a miracle because she is an amazing woman and we just couldn't believe this was happening! Well... Prayers work because Harlee Manor was our miracle!!! These people were AMAZING!!! I can't type all the names but their therapy staff is amazing!! The nurses amazing! But, and so worth a shout out because you don't always find a facility where all employees are amazing, the Aides were just mind blowing, the speech therapist, the cleaning staff, the kitchen staff, activities girl, entertainment people, every facet of that place went above and beyond for my sister and our family!!! Even if my sister was never their patient they'd visit her, hug her and cheer her on! She left that place on her own two feet!!! She calls that place home!! We have visited 3 times since we left and so many employees, which we call our friends, still check in on her! So I say this, health care and physical therapy is above and beyond what anyone could and would ever expect, the mental therapy and support, I've only ever experienced this kind of caring at Harlee Manor!

Very concerned! !

I was just informed via phone call that my father fell out of his bed tonight. I asked them why they don't have railings on his bed I was told it is against the law to have restraints on the bed. I find it hard to believe it's breaking the law to put railings on a bed. Up to this point everyone has been great but I am very upset and I want answers. They said the doctors have been informed of what happened. Well I would feel better if the doctors were on the way to examine my Dad. He is in with a broken hip and I am praying he didn't break his other hip. I will post another review about how this situation is handled.

I visited this facility

My ex-mother- law was there twice. I found the place to be clean. Dining room area is spacious with a big screen tv and comfortable seating area. The staff was friendly, but service was not always prompt. Very good rehab facility. Would recommend.

my grandmother has now been here twice, the first time she was there a short while just a few weeks, this time its been over a month and slowly we have noticed that her hangers which are nice decent hangers have gone missing every time we replace them. We've talked to staff and they could seem to careless. They are just awful with trying to help. I cannot wait till she is removed from their care, and we find her a new rehab place/

Since my mom has been at Harlee Manor, she is always nice and clean. Her hair done, and she hasn’t fallen. It was clean and a little bit smaller than the other facility I visited. Mom says the food is very good.

I can not say enough good things about Harlee Manor. My father was transferred there after a long stay between the hospital & another Assisted Living facility in Media. His care was excellent. Staff was readily available & he had every therapy in a timely manner. They could not have been more attentive to him & the family. Dad passed away with their staff holding his hand & comforting him until we could get there. Thank you Harlee. I have been a Nurse for over 25 years & hope I can recognize good care.

Harlee Manor was five minutes from my house, and my mother was there for rehab for 31 days. They did a great job with her. The caregivers were excellent. The rehab facility was great, but the senior commons side, which was their senior living community, didn’t work with me in trying to get her there for a reasonable rate. They were unbendable and actually rude. If they don’t care about what you can do, then they can’t really care about the people.

this facility should be investigated !!!! I wouldn't send a dog that I HATE here. My mother was here for a short term rehab after being in springfield hospital. The neglect here is a disgrace !!!!! My daughter arrived one saturday morning to visit. At the door we could hear the aide ( that's all there is here ) yelling at my mom to "STAND UP. STAND UP !!! " my mother was wheelchair bound :( on a Thursday night, at 11:30 pm. I received a call stating my mom fell out of bed. As if that wasn't bad enough. The woman who called was rude. Less than 48 hours after the fall. My mom suffered a severe stroke. My husband and I found her with her face pressed to the side of the bed. Eyes open , but unresponsive. Four days later. My mom was dead. I cry every day. I hate harlee manor. They should be abashed at themselves. So please, please, please don't EVER allow your loved ones to go here. I can't even drive past it anymore. It's a death dump !!!!

I cannot say enough about Harlee Manor. The staff went above and beyond for my Mom, and my family during her stay. From the nursing staff to the aides (Suzi B, Margo, Leon, Sharita, Christina, Jennifer), and all of the others who helped us get through that terrible time. We will always be grateful for the compassion and the care that our Mom received.

My mother lives at Springfield Senior Commons Personal Care at Harlee Manor. She receives excellent care and is very happy. The Resident Assistants are attentive to her needs and the Activities provide a wide range of choices. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for long term care options for their loved one. I am surprised at the negative review stated above when I first opened this page.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO HARLEE MANOR! Four days after my father was sent there, he died. They said the cause of death was aspiration pneumonia. Basically, that is, he choked to death on the contents of his feeding tube. I have made multiple attempts on behalf of my mother and I to contact to these people and no one will talk to us. When I asked to have the name and contact information of the chief administrator, they told me it is not their practice to give out that information. My mother just wants to know how and why this happened...so do I. I visited him the day before he died. I should tell you that my father suffered a brain hemorrhage on May 29 and was unable to feed or care for himself which is why we sent him to Harlee Manor in the first place. He was to receive rehabilitation. So, on that Saturday, we were there for over 4 hours and no one ever came in to change him....he was very agitated that day...we told someone that came into the room at one point that he hadn't been changed...she said she would be back...she didn't.....by the time I got someone to do this, he was absolutely soaked. We were told by the nurse that finally helped us that he should have been changed every two hours. God only knows how long it had been since he was changed before we even got there. It leaves me painfully wondering how long he was choking before anyone ever arrived to help him. Don't let this happen to your loved one.

My father was here after a hospital stay for rehab. The staff from the directors down were caring and respectful of his needs. Although his health prohibited him from returning home and the possiblility of him having to stay there was never an issue - They were caring, understanding people who took great pride in their work.Even after we had to make the decision for hospice the hospice team along with the facility were very attentive and were responsive to his needs as well as the families.

My mom stayed in Harlee Manor. She was in a shared room. It wasn't spacious but it was adequate. Most of the staff were pretty good and always friendly. The physical therapy people were good. However, I think they're understaffed.

I visited this facility

Harley Manor is a very well maintained facility. The employees their treat everyone that comes in with a great attitude, and they have no problem helping you with anything you may need. Harley Manor has a beautiful dining room that they serve their occupants in. The food that is served is prepared very well by the cooks. Everyone that works their seems to have a smile on their face, they also seem to have personal connections with the people who they are aiding. The people who are living at Harley Manor seem to love being there. Harley Manor is a very friendly facility that makes it easy for people to visit their loved ones when they have come to the point where they need to be assisted by others. It has been opened in Springfield for many years and should be open for many years to come if they keep running it in the same way.

I visited this facility

My grandfather spent almost five years at the Harlee Manor Nursing home from 2000-2004 and I visited him at least once a week so I have a lot of opinions about this assisted living facility. First off, the staff were for the most part very friendly and helpful. I got to know a few of the nurses on a personal level and even when they were having a bad day they still knew that the patients they were caring for were the number one priority no matter what was going on in their own personal lives. They seemed to have really formed a bond with a lot of the patients they cared for because they knew that most of the time they were the only loving, supportive people that the patients had access too. Sure the patients always had their family to visit them but for the majority of the time the caretakers were the only people around for the patients. Thus, due to my personal experience the staff aspect of this review gets a very high rating. The amenities were not always that great at the time my grandfather was in Harlee Manor but I can say that they have made many renovations in the last 5 years and esthetically the place looks really nice. I can't speak much for how much the amenties have actually improved but I am just saying it looks much nicer and it leads me to believe the quality of Harlee Manor has gotten better. I deliver food there for my job quite often and everyone there is very helpful and friendly when I am trying to find someone. It seems as if the same level of care for the patients is also there although I can never no for sure since I no longer have a relative living there. From everything I have seen and experienced at Harlee Manor I would definitely rate it a well above average assisted living facility.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

This is a lovely, small Nursing Home, Rehab and Assisted Living community located in Springfield, Delaware County, PA . I loved the personal touch of the Nursing Home. You can join your loved one for dinner in their beautiful dining room just notify the desk that you are staying for dinner. The residents enjoy such a home like environement in ways that I myself would appreciate like in the early evening they offer home baked cookies to residents or the visitors. I appreciated the fact that I was able to bring our puppy to visit each night. The visiting hours were plenty of time to fit in our visit. The staff was just excellent and their Wound Care Nurse made my mother's bed sore dissappear she had acquired it from her hospital stay being immobile for a period of time. I would recommend this care provider for anyone looking for excellent care.

This assisted living community was nicely decorated and felt welcoming. My loved one and I were impressed by the dining rooms and menus. The activities department had a diverse calendar planned for the day and the residents seemed very positive about the socials. The rooms were adequate in space and the care staff seemed very personable in their interactions with the residents. This site also offers transportations to local shops, malls and restaurants in the area. The grounds were neat and the resident kitty cat was pleasant. The needs of residents seem to be a priority at this site.
