StoneRidge - Poplar Run was probably one of my favorites. It was a very good option. We liked their care program. It was very nice in terms of amenities and aesthetics, and it felt inviting. The apartments were very nice, and they all have very nice floor plans. What I liked most about this place is all the mechanical stuff is outside the apartment. So, the maintenance could happen without having someone come into the unit. The dining area looked clean and inviting. At independent living, they have a meal plan where they could have so many meals a month. And if you add more meals to the plan, you would have to pay extra. I only met the staff who took us on a tour and she was great.

StoneRidge - Poplar Run was very nice. Everybody seemed to know everyone. The staff seemed to know all the people's first names, and everybody was super friendly. They had lots of activities there with dancing and special programs where they bring people in, and they had special dinners. They had upscale restaurants there for special occasions. They would have special things you could order, and it was just really, really nice. We just thought that it was not affordable for us, but it was an excellent place to go. I remember they had an exercise room. They had cottages outback. That was very interesting also besides the apartments inside. The staff was very friendly and very involved with the residents. It was well thought out.

We toured Poplar Run up in Myerstown. It's a division of Stoneridge. We went to see their assisted living. I thought it was rather expensive and it's not quite up to my standards. The staff was fine. We had a gal walk us through the tour. I had asked her to have a wheelchair ready for us just so it would make it easier for my mom. When we got there, they didn't have it ready, so they had to get one down. It just kind of seemed like they were unprepared when they knew we were coming. The facility itself was fine. My mom did like what she saw, but I thought it was kind of tired-looking. I don't want my review to sound so negative but I just wasn't impressed with this place. They had activities and they had a movie theater in the adjoining building that the residents could go to. I guess once COVID restrictions are over, they'll also be taking them out on little day trips.

We have chosen StoneRidge Poplar Run. We both visited personal care and health care. My aunt will be living in personal care. The facility is very nice and well-kept. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. There are activities planned that are appropriate and seemed to be fun. My aunt went with me; both of us toured it. They have therapies if you need them, crafts, singers or music entertainment that comes into the facility. They have movies. The rooms are very nice. They have a small refrigerator. There's room for personal furniture like a recliner. They have bathing facilities there. I like the design. There are four wings that go off where the dining room is and where the activities are. They would have swimming pool access and access to even more activities. They're not just limited to what's available in their area. They have other options as well. The staff that I met were friendly and knowledgeable.

We were able to get an in-person tour of Poplar Run because there were some vacancies, and they were able to take us in some of them. It was good. I liked it. It was nice. I liked the floor plans. Some of them have two bedrooms and some have one bedroom. They also had a storage unit down in the basement that you could store some things in. They had kitchens. They had huge dining rooms, but of course, right now, they're not open. They're seating people two at a time in the dining room with the tables all spread out. With the virus, they can't do much. They have activities, but they can't do much with those either. We didn't meet all the staff; we just had somebody taking us through there. She was very good. Facilities were all good. They had an area for exercise, and they had a couple of rooms where people could read and play games if they wanted to.

StoneRidge Retirement was very nice. They seem to be very centered around the residents. They have a lot of things to do. They take you to your local doctors' appointments or to the grocery store and twice a week, they go on trips. The meals are included. Everything is covered except you have to pay $35 for your phone and internet use. Most of it was pretty new and it's in a good location.

I had a fairly short visit at Stoneridge Retirement, and it was expensive. We did see the smallest apartment they have, and it was OK, but not quite enough kitchen for my mother even though she would be having lunch for meals in the dining facility.

Stoneridge was clean, they seemed organized, and it was a nice environment. The staff was attentive and friendly. The grounds were well-maintained and taken care of. It’s off the main highway and seems quiet.

My great grandmother is a resident in this facility and she enjoys it very much. Always an active and social lady, she enjoys the activities provided to her. From bus trips to local high school plays and musicals to bingo nights and religious groups, she is always busy and seems very content with the amount of opportunities provided to her. Many students from local high schools work at this facility and they are very friendly and, most importantly, always available. When she visits for the holidays they always remember to send her medication with her for us and include instructions. The facility is clean and the food, although cafeteria-esque, is nutritious and well prepared. I am also pleased with the attention to her medical condition. Recently he medications were changed around and they took great care to monitor her condition and, most importantly, get her input on how she felt about the changes. They even listened to her suggestions and switched one of the medications that she was not happy with. At 92 years of age, she is slowing down and the available medical attention is high quality and fast. We, as her family, are satisfied with this facility and how they have treated her. She is happy and always excited to participate in the many social activities offered at Stoneridge!
