My best friend lives in Lima Estates. It's a very nice one. When my friend moved in, they redid the whole place. They renovated it. They knocked out a wall between the living room and dining room. The kitchen area is very nice. My best friend has two bathrooms, one for guests and one for her own. The food is good. They have a lot of activities. My friend is in charge of some of them sometimes. They go on field trips, and I went on some trips with them. They have continuing care, which is something she has stressed to me. If I go to dinner there, they have young kids out of college to wait on me. It's a gated community, and they have a guard in the front. They pretty much take the residents anywhere they want to go. The facility is nice. It's not too big. It's very clean. Everybody seems to enjoy their place. They're social.

I went to Lima Estates to visit a friend of mine and the place was very nice, very warm, and very homey. The food was good because I was able to go there for lunch. It's only two stories high, so they don't have long elevator rides to get to where you're going. It's older, but it's a very nice place. The outside buildings and the grounds were kept up nicely. It was very pretty from the outside. The only staff I dealt with were the ones from the cafeteria and they were very good. They have recently put a pool for the residents, and they also have a library and different things that they can participate in. I saw an art show, which was very nice too, but I know that parking has always been an issue there. It's so difficult to find a place to put your car whenever you visit.

Lima Estates is very lovely. I really like it, but my daughter's going to be living with me, and she's only fifty-one. I liked everything I saw. I have friends who live there that like the place and are very happy there. I live around the corner from there. Unfortunately, they will not accept my daughter until she's fifty-two. I made a deposit as a prospective member, but I will get that back. I would recommend them because of the atmosphere. Lima Estates and its sister community were equally wonderful, and I like them both in terms of atmosphere and quality of care. The aesthetics are beautiful, and they're both wonderful communities, but they don't happen to be in the area where I wish to relocate. I've had both lunch and dinner there, and I've been very happy. Everything was wonderful.

Lima Estates is close to our house. The rooms were good and modest. We actually liked that it was a little small and homey. There’s easy access to parking close to where my father-in-law’s room is. There were good activities and options for food and dining. They seemed to be manageable, and because of the smaller scale, they had better connections between staff and people who needed care. They had clubs and a library.

Lima Estate is nice. It’s four or five miles from where I currently live, and they have many scheduled activities. The fee includes one meal a day, then, the days you do not use are added on to the next month, which I think is nice. The food is very good. Any apartment you choose is decorated to suit you. The staff is very nice and most of the employees have been there for 10 years.

I was very impressed with Lima Estates. It was lovely, and if I ever decide to do anything, I might consider this facility. It’s right down the road where I live now, so it’s very convenient for me. It was very lovely. Everybody was wonderful. They invited me for a meal when I was there, and it was delicious.

My mother is moving in at Lima Estates and it's a buy in community. They serve one or two meals a day. The rooms are beautiful. My mother is an artist and they have an art studio. They also have trips if the residents want trips. The staff are very courteous. They have concierge there and volunteers to do things for the residents. It's a really nice place.

The staff is great. They are always friendly and accommodating and willing to move around their schedules to accommodate family visits. The comfort level is high! Carpeted floors in all parts of the building really makes it feel like home. Other facilities that I have visited have really been a turn off if they had tile floors. The residents are friendly for the most part as well. The facility seems to encourage mingling with different events, which fosters relationships among the residents. Residents' art is regularly displayed and rotated, which is a great feature. The facility also offers a dining room where my grandmother has hosted a few parties. One great thing is that right now she is staying in a hospital-like portion, but it is all in walking distance (all indoors) from her regular apartment in the facility. I think that this helps her feel that she is still at home without really being there.

The facility (Lima Estates) in Media, PA offers the residents many recreational options that can be enjoyed by those that are still active and those that are less active. The employees seem to genuinely care for the residents and the residents are encouraged to attend various functions so that they can get to know others. The biggest negative is that the residents are not allowed to do much gardening around their porch areas.

Lima Estates in Media, PA, is set on lovely grounds with beautiful gardens. There are many outside areas for the residents to enjoy, including a putting green. The large, open lobby greets visitors, with a cafe that includes a large selection of entrees and snacks. The apartments are a reasonable size, although not as large as other retirement communities in the area. The amenities are plentiful, including a pool, computer room, exercise facilities, craft rooms, beauty shop, and transportation to many local shopping and medical facilities. My only concern is the staff - many staff members didn't seem to know resident's names or anything about the facility. Questions regarding number of residents, how long the facility had been in existence, and number of staff went unanswered. Staff members I asked for directions answered, but were not particularly friendly. This location has an institutional feel, with residents being told where to sit and what to do during free time.Overall, I believe it would be a nice place for a resident to live while in independent living, but the assisted living and continuing care had a corporate feel that left me wondering what type of life the residents of those facilities would have.
