I couldn't be happier. Staff goes above and beyond to help residents. Managers and Supervisors are very nice. Food is good! Better than most places I have stayed at. Activities include bingo, outings to restaurants, Ice Cream places, Amusement park, conservatory, casino and more. Great place and value for the money. Beverages available 24 hours. Family owned and ran. Front desk girls help with almost anything and happy to do so. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. Very clean also.

My aunt was a resident of The Palms at O'Neil. We visited her, and also we looked around to see what they had. I know there wasn't much staff around because she fell. The place was very clean, and the entry way was pretty clean. They had a beautiful something in the back where you can sit and read a book, they have umbrellas and chairs. Because of COVID you have to visit people outside. I thought it was very nice. They don't have enough staff, and they only have 50 residents there, but she liked it. The room she had was a one-bedroom. I was surprised how large it was. She had a big screen TV in there, and she also had a full-sized refrigerator. She had a single bed, a chest of drawers, and a handicapped bathroom. I thought it was a little bit high for the money. She fell there twice, and they don't have enough staff. The girl that gave the tour wasn't really that professional. I only met two staff members; they were average. The girl that took us around, she's on shorts, and I think she worked there part time. The community isn't bad up there. There's Penn State and there's a church. The road has tons of potholes in the parking lot though, but it's in a fairly safe area.

The care was horrific. The staff seemed to always be in a hurry. Catheter with bag left in the bathtub or sink. After emptying catheter, urine bottles were left on the dresser or on the floor. There was no access to water. My mom liked ice water. The only way she could get was for me to ask the kitchen staff. If you could not go to the dining hall for a meal then you would not be fed. She left there with a huge bedsore, Stage 4. They didn't turn her because "they didn't have a wedge". Did not think about using a pillow. No empathy or compassion for the tenants. The Health Department was notified.

ONCE again my mother in law was left with a dirty diaper for many hours. It is happening too often and it needs to be addressed. Lack of personal and not enough hygiene

We have chosen The Palms At O'Neil if we can get my father to go there. It's close to my brother and me, so that was a plus. We liked the place. It was very clean. We liked how everything is done there. I thought it was a good fit for my father. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food looked and smelled good. I was impressed with it all. The staff was awesome. The activities seemed good. They had a lot to offer, like people who come in to entertain them, arts and crafts, and daytrips to places. They had a room where you can read books, a place where they can do puzzles, and during the holiday, they have special things.

My aunt is in The Palms. It's very clean. The rooms are very nice, but the help could be better. They?re friendly, but they could be better trained. They offer various activities, but my aunt doesn't go to any. They have manicures and Bingo, the normal stuff. My aunt likes the food. They could train the staff to be more attentive to the patients.

I went on a Saturday at the The Palms so there were not much activities going on. But they usually scheduled a lot of activities during the week. They seemed to have caregivers who were conscientious and very nice. The place just seemed kind of dark to me. The decor was nice. They tried to make it looked like tropical like it was in Florida or something. But it just wasn't as nice as where my mom was now.

The staff is exceptional, very helpful, polite and kind. The food is great, home cooked meals made right there.
