Luther Acres is a great place. Two of my friends have moved in there. We visited and saw independent living apartments as there are people who live there and agreed to show their apartments on occasion. They were spacious and we happened to see them in different stages of completion because when somebody moves out, they redecorate them with new appliances, new flooring, and all that. They were all nice, clean, and ready to go. We also toured the fitness center and a couple of their restaurants. I have also visited skilled nursing care because one of my friends was there. We sampled their food and it was excellent. For activities, there was a lot of walking and biking there. I went through their application process and I think the value for the price is very good.

Luther Acres Lititz, PA was lovely and very nice. It's within my price range. We made an appointment to see the marketing director. I had to fill out paperwork to just give them some idea about me. I think they want to evaluate how you are physically and then financially, whether or not, you have the finances that they expect you to have. I met with her and then we talked a little bit about what I feel my needs are. We toured not just the residences, but also toured the facilities. She showed me the restaurant, the swimming pool and things like that that I would be interested in. And we went over exactly what I felt like I would prefer. I wrote her a check and she put me on the waitlist. I was treated kindly and with respect. She took about three hours with me; that's how much time she spent. So I wasn't rushed through there or anything. They were lovely. I felt comfortable there. The cottages do not include meals, but what you pay for the apartments does include like $125 meal credit. So you're not paying for something you're not using. That carries over if you don't use it, as one month goes into the next month, that kind of thing, and that's all in the monthly thing that you pay. She showed me one apartment complex that has no outdoor space and then there's another complex that does. The marketing director took us to lunch there. They have two restaurants there. One is like a cafe place. It's not like a buffet; you are served your meal. And then they have a more higher end kind of place. It's fancier and more like a steakhouse. We went to the cafe and the food was great and extremely reasonable. I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. Everything in there is high end. It's not cheap contractor-grade stuff. One of the residents told me that if the apartment or the cottage that you take if the resident prior to you was there for 10 years, they automatically upgrade everything. And if you go in there, you also have the option to upgrade anything you want to.

Luther Acres is the one I would like to get into. It's very clean, and they're very efficient. They have a lot of amenities. They have bus trips, and you get so much a month for food to eat in their dining room. They have a church, a barber, a doctor, and a hairdresser right on the premises. The staff is very efficient, very courteous, and very nice.

Don’t be fooled by the remodeled decor and upgrades. Our loved one was overmedicated within two months of moving in and then made to share a room in skilled care while trying to recover from the incident. She then ended up being taken to the emergency room in the middle of the night and diagnosed with a UTI the Luther Acres Staff never discovered though their own care staff. They took thousands of dollars from our family to hold space for our loved one - never telling family members they no intentions of allowing her to return. Follow up calls to their management staff to locate missing hearing aids and personal items were never returned. The Management of LA is more concerned about money and the bottom line than proper resident care and concern.

We went to an open house at Luther Acres. We tasted the food, and we visited different apartments. They were renovating a lot of the older parts. Everything was very nice. They had a lot of activities. It's out of our price range though. They have a movie room and restaurants. Their apartments were a little bigger than the ones at the other facility. The lower priced ones were bigger and they have full kitchens. You have your choice of eating in your own apartment or you can go to different dining rooms or restaurants. They have a pub where you can get what you want but they have separate dining rooms if you want to go down and eat. The staff members who were helping with the open house all seemed very nice. They have a fantastic chef. It's in a country setting. It's on the outskirts, just outside of Lititz.

Luther Acres have first-class restaurants, nice dining facilities, the rooms are completely redone before you move in, and each room has a washer and dryer, separate living area, and a beautiful bathroom.

My husband is at Luther Acres. It is wonderful. I don't have any complaints at all. They really take wonderful care of him. He is in memory care and needs that badly. They’re very good. Right away, they get up and know your name. They treat my husband like he is family and do that with all of them. The meals are very good. They use one room for their meals and for their activities. They keep it super clean. There’s only 17 residents.

We moved my aunt at Luther Acres and I like the place. It was clean and the people seemed to really care about the patients. My aunt was in a room with four people, which I didn’t like but they said they only had one room and the whole place for four people in it but still the people seemed to take care for her. They had a dog there that the patients could pet and I felt that was good, it’s like a facility pet. The staff seemed to be caring. The one thing I didn’t like is that I had several questions and whenever I call the social worker or the people in the building, I would say 90% of the time that they would not answer and they had to call me back a day or two later.

It was very easy to find my way around, with big bold signs. The dining was good and the special "visitors" fancier eatery we would go to had some really great stuff. They had good precautions to keep the assisted living people from getting out without making it feel like a prison.

My grandfather and grandmother both stay at this facility. My grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and was put into the assisted-living area and then later the nursing home area. My grandmother is able to take care of herself and is in a rental unit in the retirement area. While staying in the assisted living area, my grandfather was physically abused by a male nurse. When we complained to the staff, all they did was transfer the nurse to a different location. He was constantly dirty because of lack of bathing. They rarely shaved him. In the end his legs calcified in a permanant bent position because of lack of turning him. I am extremely dissatisfied with Luther Acres.
