I was recently a patient at this facility for around a month total. I cannot begin to express how much the staff genuinely cares for their patients physical and mental well being. My path is very much undetermined at this time, but they listened to every symptom and met every need while I was here. I had such a positive experience that I hope to recover and spend time volunteering and helping out the staff in the future. I highly recommend giving them the responsibility of caring for your loved ones as they live out their years or recover and come home to be with family. Job well done!

My mother was sent here from the Philadelphia Hospital. We arrived at 7pm with my her, we asked for a wheelchair and the employees grumbled that we didn’t bring our own. It took them 15 minutes to find a wheelchair so we could get her out of the car. We told them she didn’t have dinner yet nor her evening medicine. First they told us their kitchen was closed and that they could only offer her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, so we had to run to Giant to find some dinner for her. Second they told us her medicine comes from Pittsburgh and that it would arrive the next day. Her room smelled bad and it had ants all over the floor, there were even a few in her bed. Some of our family stayed late that night and other family members arrived early the next morning because we were afraid to leave her there alone overnight. At 7am the next morning I was on the phone with her insurance company, the hospital, and other facilities. By 10am I was out touring other facilities and found one with a rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars. We had her moved shortly after lunchtime. Thankfully she spent less then 24 hours in ManorCare.

The nurses are always busy and hard to get when you need them. Most are friendly. Administration seems to be overworked but most are friendly too. The social worker was always helpful and made herself available and the admissions was very friendly too!!!

I was a patient there 6 years ago after I had a stroke. I hated the place and have nothing good to say about it. Now my mother who is 82 is a resident there. When I call her I am transferred to phones that are never answered. Or I am given ridiculous excuses on the phone and am asked to call back.

My Mother was a patient at ManorCare Lancaster for approximately three weeks in January 2015. She was very ill and was not expected to live very long. The nursing staff, nursing aids & everyone in the Buchanon wing were wonderful to my Mother and to us. They didn't know when my sister or myself would visit & every time we did arrive, we saw that she was well taken care of. My Mother's room was bright & sunny and clean. Her food was not so appetizing because it was soft so it wasn't "normal" food. But there was always well balanced meals. The social workers & office staff were very professional. There was always someone to answer our questions. The admissions staff were knowledgeable and helpful in getting my Mother settled. Everything about ManorCare was a positive experience for my family. When my Mother passed away, the entire staff was so kind and considerate.

We have my wife at ManorCare. She's been there since her operation in early January, so it's been three months, and the price for that is $10,000 a month. They're very nice, very efficient, and the place is very clean and has good meals. The nurses are very good. They all know her now, and the rehab team knows her. They take her down for exercises with the arms and different kind of movements and try to encourage her. That's still included with Medicare as long as she shows improvement. They're getting good care. The only thing was we experienced a problem. She had a new iPhone, and they stole her battery charger. The first time a battery charger was stolen, and then the next incident, her phone was stolen, and so they're going to replace it.
