I had an appointment with Country Manor, but when I got there, the lady who was supposed to show us around wasn't even there. One of the employees who was not friendly at all showed us a couple of rooms and it smelled horrible in there. When I told her, my brother needed to use the bathroom, she said, "Oh, we don't have any." I said, "Well, no restrooms?" She said no. I asked her what happens when the visitors come. She said, "We don't get visitors here." I didn't even realize she worked there because she wasn't dressed as you would think. The room that she showed me looked like the mattresses were ten years old. One wall wasn't even painted.

I visited Country Manor. Everybody seemed really nice and really happy. The rooms were very spacious and clean. There was a two-bedroom with a shared bathroom. There was also an efficiency with its own little kitchen set and bathroom that was all private. The dining area was more like a restaurant. They had very nice open grounds. There were some walking trails, too. I like the fact that you can come and go as you please, and that you're not like locked in there.

Country Manor is very, very nice. If you want a country setting where you can look on a field, corral with horses and a hillside, it's absolutely beautiful. They're nice people that talked with us. Residents were sitting around, and a few that I've known because I've been to that one before with my mother and my grandmother. It has changed hands from somebody else, but they're very, very, very nice. All of the rooms were clean. No smell when you walked in. Nice dining room set up. It was after the residents had all eaten, they were all moving about, it was pretty busy when we were there, but it was nice. They showed us the rooms. They're very nice rooms, some with shared bathrooms, others with their own private half bath, like a sink and a commode and that was it. They do the assisted showers. The staff members were very friendly, accommodating, and answered all my questions. They showed me everything I needed to ask for and even showed me a room even though it wasn't ready for occupying. The room was clean. It just had some boxes sitting around things like that. She said she was sorry for that. We were a surprise visit, so they didn't know we were coming. We called and asked if we could go ahead and come, and they accommodated us right away. So, that was nice, too, even though our appointment was for later in the day.

We toured Country Manor, and it was relatively clean. However, I didn't like the fact that my father-in-law would have had to leave his room to shower, because all they had were a half-bedroom and a connecting room, and I didn't like that. The staff who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and very thorough. I didn't really see a whole lot of activities. They were just reopening because of COVID, so there weren't a lot of things available. The rooms were OK. It was clean and it was fairly spacious; I just didn't like the bathroom facilities.
