Brandywine Living at Haverford Estates is the best kept secret. It is like a boutique facility. It is bright and cheery when you walk in and the staff is amazing. There are plenty of activities for my parents including a movie theatre with a popcorn machine, which they love. My mom always says they bend over backwards to make sure you have everything you want and need. I looked all around looking for the perfect place for my parents and I can rest easy at night knowing they are being taking care of by an amazing group of professionals who truly love them.

I liked the setting at Brandywine Living at Haverford Estates. The design of the smaller rooms created a feeling of intimacy. It did not look institutional. It had lovely grounds for the residents that looked inviting and there were a lot of people out there. Everybody looked quite happy and content. Everybody was very friendly and very outgoing. All of the residents looked engaged and not just sitting there. The residents spoke with us and the staff greeted us. The facility felt much more home-like because of the smaller spaces. Instead of one large rectangular room, it would have wings. The space was broken up by partial walls or by a wing or by an alcove or columns so you had that feeling that it was not that big open rectangle. It looked very inviting.

Brandywine Living at Haverford Estates is absolutely beautiful. Mom is in the memory care unit and the most they’ll put in that unit is 12. When we moved in two weeks ago, there were seven in her unit and she gets excellent attention. She likes the singing, but she doesn’t watch TV and doesn’t participate in the crafts anymore, but they do have all that. The staff is lovely and very caring. They know all her idiosyncrasies and how to cater to her. I would give the staff a 10-star rating if I could. Mom still eats like crazy there.

Brandywine Senior Living at Haverford Estates was first class and had a little more life to it. It's off the main road but did have a nursing home feel with long corridors and since each room is the same. Of all of them, that was my mother's favorite. The rooms were standard and had the nicest outdoor areas with cul-de-sac shady areas and a putting green. The facility layout was too rectangular and too uniform, like a luxury hospital.

My family feels so blessed to have found Brandywine Estates. After extensive research with my four siblings we decided on Brandywine. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of 79, she remained in independent living for 2 years before we had to make the move to assisted living. We found that the assisted care option in her Continuing Care Community was a hospital room next to the skilled nursing station. This broke our hearts because my mother is fiercely independent, but was slowly losing her memory. She yearned to live on her own and be active, but this was no longer a possibility for her. She was stuck between two worlds. Brandywine has given my mothers indepence back to her. She has her own apartment and is active in all the activities throughout the day and early evening. When I visit, anyone on the staff can tell me where my mother is at the time I arrive and they freely give me an update on how she is doing. Brandywine is also the only Assisted living environment that has 24/7 R.N. nursing care, which at her age is very important. My siblings and I rest easy at night knowing our mother is well taken care of, happy and safe. Thank you Brandywine! Patty Plousis

I first discovered Brandywine Senior Living while looking for a place for my mom who was starting to have difficulty living on her own. My husband and I saw a couple of places in the area but when we walked into Brandywine I knew it was special. Brandywine is unique! From the moment you are greeted at the desk you are being welcomed into a family atmosphere. There is a keen sense of community at Brandywine and all the residents seem very content. On nice days people sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and the grounds, everyone greats you both residents and staff. I am one of 8 children and we all agreed Brandywine was right for mom where she has been living for two years. Unfortunately mom has been moved to the Reflections unit at Brandywine due to her dementia/Alzheimer’s condition. Her care is exceptional, she is always clean and out with the other residents in Reflections, never shut in her room. Her needs are always addressed and she is treated with respect, dignity and a great deal of compassion by the staff. Brandywine is a wonderful place for any family member who no longer can or wants to live on their own. The staff is beyond friendly. Brandywine is very clean and resembles a family home setting more than a facility setting. The atmosphere is full of warmth and caring. There are lots of activities for the residents and the staff is always encouraging the residents to get involved. Brandywine also includes the families of its residents with functions through the year. It is festive and bright. My brothers and sisters and I are all very happy with Brandywine & encourage you to visit and see for yourself.

A beautiful community! My mother has lived here for nearly a year and feels so much at home. She is supported by very active and caring caretakers. Throughout the day, everyday, there is a very complete activity schedule in which she and so many of her neighbors participate. The dining room is lovely and comfortable, and more so, the food is top rate = delicious. The community feels like a village, the staff are invested in making a supportive and caring environment for their 'villagers', and this was by far my favorite facility out of the numerous ones visited in choosing the next living situation for my Mom needing Assisted Living.

A beautiful facility, charming. My uncle enjoys his days here and loves the staff, especially Rosie, and the Dining Room staff. The Wellness Center could have better follow up.

Brandywine was where my mom used to stay. It was a very clean place. The staff were very good to her and very attentive. I would highly recommend this facility if it was in your price range.
